I've been a member of Flaviar for a while now and really enjoy it. They have a great collection of whiskey, rum, gin and others. But what I really like is the free shipping and the tasting samples. I can't say it's the most comprehensive collection, but it's curated well, and they have a real personality when it comes to communicating with you.

I work for a national spirit retailer and have enjoyed being able to try many different scotch, rum, and whiskey via the sampler set they provide. The cost to me is a deal and have been able to try many wonderful spirits without having to buy the 750ml to do so. The tasting note inserts and a big help and you get a free coaster with each shipment of the sampler.

I've really enjoyed my Flaviar membership so far! For me, it isn't really about the tasting boxes but rather the great selection of whiskeys available for purchase. Where I'm located, many of the bottle selections on Flaviar are either very hard to find, or very expensive. The once a month free shipping makes the price savings well worth the membership cost.

Being a resident of the Commonwealth of Virginia has some advantages. However, variety and competition in the liquor industry are not one. The state runs and controls the liquor stores and controls the prices. So if they don't decide to stock it, you must not need it.

I, on the other hand, have traveled the world and appreciate small, rare and different in everything, but especially liquor. Flaviar has bottles that will never be for sale in Virginia, and I appreciate that, and their prices are great too.
