My husband and I love our Flaviar subscription. They actually have a LOT more than just whiskey, so don't let that comment above fool you. We have had all sorts of options, and you can also opt out of a box if you don't like the curated box of the month and choose another spirit, or to apply your membership to a bottle instead. The options are wonderful, and I can't think of a single reason not to have fun with this great company's offerings.

I usually hate review like this but I have bought an excellent Japanese whiskey about 5 months ago which, by the way, is excellent. Recently I purchased a Japanese gin which is also more than promising.

I trust Flaviar with their recommendations and frankly their pricing. So far the ordering process has been exemplary.

I purchased a bottle of Koval bourbon from Flaviar after reading their review on it. The review was spot on and the Koval was even better than I was expecting it to be.

Flaviar sent several e-mails to me confirming my order and giving me updates as to when it would ship, and when it would arrive. It actually got here several days before they estimated that it would.

Lastly, they asked me to rate their service and how I felt about the experience as a whole. Their approach was more what you would expect if someone had bought a $600 bottle of scotch rather than a 50 dollar bottle of bourbon.

I'm looking forward to a long and enjoyable membership with Flaviar.

You have made a great idea into a stupendous, outstanding, amazing idea and showed the world there is more to taste and more to experience. I used to say I have a "favorite", but after a few flights, 3 to be exact, I've realized that those were only my favorites because I didn't have these choices in front of me. But they were all this time. I noticed Red Breast on the shelves in the liquor store for the first time ever. Maybe it's always been there, but I couldn't tell you because I would pass right by it to go to my "favorite". So I say thank you to opening up my eyes and your vault (sometimes), so I can see what has been hiding in front of my eyes and what's behind your doors.

A friend recommended I join Flaviar, because of my love for expanding horizons in the world of fine drinks and dining. I tried it and fell in love. The monthly fee pays off by the competitive prices, a vast amount of fun facts that satisfy curiosity. You don't only get to enjoy the drink, but also to appreciate it, knowing how much work, effort, ideas, knowledge, and luck is incorporated in the drink, sitting on your table.

Out of all the member benefits (and there are quite a few), I particularly like the sample boxes, which offer a glimpse into the variety of the world of liquor. This way it's easy for someone to get an idea of what they like or don't like at an affordable price. They also make a nice gift and come with ideas of how to make them into a fun tasting experience with your friends. If you're willing to share, that is.
