Bummed

By Lisa Sims, Norman, OK, Verified Reviewer

The first pan I used to mix a dip, I scratched the coating off the bottom of the pan and ruined my dip. I was so excited I was finally able to afford new cookware, and now I'm just totally disappointed that I wasted what little money I had saved on this whole 10-piece set.

I want to love it, but...

By Eve, Alberta, Canada, Verified Reviewer

I ordered two pans, and one arrived with a dent in it. It is not the end of the world, but kind of annoying.

I was more concerned about the magical non-stick powers! It's a decent pan, but my eggs will stick with or without oil (less with oil). I've read that non-stick coating in general last longer if you don't put them in the dishwasher (which I have been doing as per the commercial!), so maybe they should tell you that.

Overall, it is not as incredible as I was hoping. Maybe it's just certain foods that stick, but they've been great for pancakes and salmon. I haven't tried much else, but the eggs sticking was disappointing.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Not bad

By Cherie, Savannah, GA, Verified Reviewer

I bought the Gotham Steel round pan. I am pleased with it, and a little disappointed with it. You are recommended to never use spray oils, but a little olive oil and butter is fine and actually helps. I have an electric stove, so everything stuck until I learned to lower the temperature. The pan is small, and I would prefer it to be a bit larger.

If you clean it right after cooking, it usually cleans up pretty well. If you let the food dry, it will need to soak first. The food sticks around the handle rivets, so pay special attention there. The pan works great with recipes that go from cooktop to oven. I was pleased with that feature. It works very well in the oven. The handle stays cool unless it has been in the oven, then the handle is extremely hot.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Doesn't quite live up to the guarantee

By Jana Marshall, Xenia, Ohio , Verified Reviewer

I love the nonstick aspect of the pan, but I've already had to replace one and need to replace this one (originally purchased on March 8, 2017) as well because it has scratches on the surface. I rarely use metal utensils on the pan, and I certainly am not abusing it. I even hand wash it.

Good, but not totally as advertised

By Paula Watson, Pikeville, TN, Verified Reviewer

This cookware is lightweight, easy to clean, and great for most all cooking needs. I, however, have NEVER gotten an egg to slide out of a pan. My complaint is, I used an electric mixer in a pan on low speed to cream potatoes, just as advertised, and it beat chunks out of the side of my pan. It is not made for an electric mixer. They WILL damage your cookware.

Fair

By Pat Tamlyn, Perry, MI, Verified Reviewer

I love the pots, but I'm not impressed with either skillets. I tried to fry eggs, and they stuck to the pan fairly good. I don't use them for eggs anymore, and I went back to my cast iron for them.

I own the square one

By Ashley Sartori, Shelbyville, KY, Verified Reviewer

I have the square Copper Pan. But from my experience, this is not accurate at all. I got mine as a present and had mine less than a month. All I use on it is a rubber spatula. I used it approximately five times. I went to use it yesterday and my eggs stuck to it terrible. I decided to try it with the eggs again this morning.

Note, it soaked overnight with dish detergent and water. Still had to work on rubbing the egg off this morning. The oil didn't help much and still had to work on getting the egg cleaned off it. Tonight my pork chop is sticking to it as well. I clean it as instructed in the pamphlet that came with it. I don't use knives or anything sharp or metal in it. I also don't put it on high as its recommended to.

Not as good as advertised. Better than other brands.

By Linda Wright, Port Allegany, PA, Verified Reviewer

I wish I had checked out the ratings online before purchasing. I have to admit that I was very impressed at first. I cooked eggs in butter, and it worked wonderfully. One day I left something on the stove a little too long, and it burned. Now it is definitely not working like advertised. It is still better than other fry pans. If something sticks, I use a little warm water and a plastic scrubber and it comes off fairly easily. I still fry burgers or eggs in it a lot.

My pan scratched using a fork to stir

By Kathy Johnson, Georgia, Verified Reviewer

I purchased the square pan from Walmart, and on the use, the pan scratched. I read the cover on the pan (after using it), and it suggests not using metal utensils on the pan. Totally different from the commercial. Not impressed at all.

Not impressed

By Fred Nichol, Fort St. John, British Columbia, Canada, Verified Reviewer

This pan is neither non-stick nor scratch proof, as well mine warped and no longer sits on our flat top properly! Typical gimmick bull crap! Not worth the money. My Heritage Rock pans lasted long, although with the same result.

Gotham Steel Fry Pans

By Brian Howard, St Catharines, Ontario, Canada, Verified Reviewer

I have had a number of Gotham Steel Fry Pans, and in general find them very good, however, the non-stick quality appears to last about three years, and I still use the pans on an almost daily basis. I find that I have to season the pans with a little olive oil every week or two, that procedure last about four or five days, i.e., NON-stick.

Even though the "non-stick" no longer works, they are easy to clean.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
