I'd turn back if I were you!

By Lydia D., Florida, Verified Reviewer

Ordered 3 cases of flavored water, then tried the "sparkling" version. Even after letting them sit for days before opening they EXPLODED and had no flavor. When I tried to contact Hint, they said no refunds, so I am stuck with 36 bottles of explosives. They offered a $10 credit but said it couldn't be used on sale items or subscriptions. They sent an email saying 1 day only to order and when I tried no link came up. They have multiple agents that type responses and one agent wrote that my $10 coupon code had been used last month. I had to explain I just received it 2 days ago and it was issued for a problem, not a discount I had used previously. She apologized for her mistake and then I was told to use it at check out. This process has been confusing and irritating. NOT WORTH THE TROUBLE.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Very very slow shipping

By Mike W., Nampa, ID, Verified Reviewer

I ordered, 7 days later no shipping. Order today, ship tomorrow should be the standard.

Seven-day shipping time is just plain stupid business. Plenty to pick from in the store.

It tastes like chemicals in the aftertaste. I had blackberry. I looked up the real ingredients and now I know I was drinking PROPYLENE GLYCOL! Thank GOD I didn't give the kids any! Now I know why this was only a dollar and change at FIVE below. SMH...

Didn’t like the taste

By Robert F., Edwards, CO, Verified Reviewer

Bought a mixed case from the company on a promotion.

Drank three different flavors. Each left me with an unpleasant aftertaste. I emptied the remaining bottles and sent them to recycling.

I think you should try it yourself and you desire. It just wasn’t for me.

Not what I expected from water

By JL S., New York City, NY, Verified Reviewer

I purchased 3 cases of 3 flavors (watermelon, cherry, and apple) thru the Hint Water promotion. I drank 3 bottles througtout a few hours (more water than I usually drink) and I felt more thirsty. It was a really strange feeling, considering I was drinking water. It's hard to explain.

I drank some regular spring water to see if I felt better and I did.

Hint left me with a dry, dehydrated feeling and I also experienced a bad headache.

The flavor of the apple, cherry, and watermelon are artificial tasting to me, almost like perfume.

I am surprised how much I disliked this water, I mean what's not to like? It's water with fruit flavors that I love. Unfortunately, it was a disappointment. I really thought I would love it. It looks like a great product from a great company.

I had some friends try Hint (watermelon and cherry.) I offered bottles to take home and they declined.

Save your money and don't buy Hint.

By Cindy B. , Waterville, ME

I tried Hint because I thought it would give me an incentive to drink more water. Was I wrong! The taste is so artificial. It tastes like the water had been in a plastic bottle left in the sun for days. My sister said it tasted like perfume. I am so glad I bought only two bottles. Save your money and drink water from the tap - it cannot be worse than Hint.

Hint? More like, "Get a Clue".

By Ed F. , Fort Mill, SC

A misguided and feeble attempt to produce the Holy Grail of waters. The name is inaccurate — it's not even a hint, it's just confusing. The flavors are innocuous — hard to tell them apart, the mouth feel is strange, the smell seems like simply chemicals. You leave wondering if you're detecting plasticizers leaching from the bottle, or something else — but it doesn't taste natural. The sparkling ones are extremely over-carbonated — you crack the lid and end up being sprayed with and wearing the stuff. I bought the 3 cases and I'm tossing it all.

Length of Use: Less than 3 months

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Pros and Cons

Thought that maybe they were onto, and had something here.

Good idea in concept, failed on the execution.

Flavor selection is uninspiring.

Not what I was expecting

By Dewey J. , Saint Louis, MO

I’ve had many infused waters. This is the worst water I’ve ever tasted. Your commercial leads you to believe that it tasted just like fruit, and based on your commercial, I went to the store and purchased a couple of bottles. It’s overpriced, it tastes terrible. That’s just my opinion, but I would never buy this again.

Pros and Cons

Not so natural

By Michael, SF Bay Area, Verified Reviewer

Okay, redefining the word "natural" doesn't make it so. Fruit in its natural state contains natural sugars and calories, like it or not. Take for example blackberries, there are 65 calories and 7 grams of sugar in a cup of blackberries. In order to remove those calories you have to remove the sugar, in order to remove the sugar you have to process the berries. It says right on the bottle "Contains No Juice." If there is no juice to flavor this product, there are no sugars to sweeten it, then whatever is used to flavor it can't be natural, because it's processed.

I don't know if you all know this or not, but natural sugars and calories aren't the enemies, it's when they are consumed in excess that they become poison. 3 or 4 blackberries muddled with a leaf or two of mint in 16oz of filtered water contains 6 calories, is naturally sweet and contains vitamins that our bodies need to survive.

Yes, I have tried this product, apple and the blackberry, and didn't care for it. The apple tasted like someone dropped a green apple JollyRancher into ten gallons of water and the blackberry tasted nothing like blackberries. I also don't like the price and the fact that we are introducing even more single-use plastic into the environment, already seeing these bottles blowing around in parking lots and laying in ditches.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

No sodium but dry mouth? Skeptical of Hint's claims.

By Victor Reynauld, Virginia Beach, VA, Verified Reviewer

My wife is one of those folks who grew up drinking everything BUT water, so the idea of just drinking water with no flavoring is unpalatable to her. She found Hint Water and bought a few bottles for both of us to try. She didn't like the flavor profile and was done after one bottle ("too much like plain water," she said). I enjoyed the first bottle (Watermelon, specifically) and gave it a couple more chances.

While it lives up to its name (there’s just a hint of fruit flavoring, enough to give it some flavor without being overpowering), I’ve discovered that it makes my mouth ridiculously dry, the same as when I drink purified water that has sodium bicarbonate in it. It claims to have no sodium and no such electrolyte additives, but I’ve now tried three more flavors over the course of a week and all three have had the same dry mouth effect. After drinking a glass of my typical double-filtered tap water, the dry mouth issue goes away.

This leaves me thinking that if Hint Water was just water and fruit essences with no sweeteners or sodium, there shouldn’t be any dry mouth issues. This makes me wonder if someone over at Hint Water isn’t telling the full story. If I need flavored water, I think I'd rather go back to just using an infuser bottle and deal with the natural fructose from the bits of fresh fruit used.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend
