HomeLight quickly connected me with the best agents

By Rebecca Holden, Marine City, MI, Verified Reviewer

HomeLight was a big help to me in selling my parents' house. I was given the names of three agents, all of whom called me within a couple hours after I contacted HomeLight. I was amazed at the fast service.

Two of the agents were available to meet with me in person immediately, and the third was not available for a few days. I chose to go with Phil Grosso and his agent, Becky Post, because of their enthusiasm and energy - they were excited about representing us and the attention and effort they gave us paid off.

I would recommend HomeLight's services to anyone looking for an agent, and I would gladly recommend Phil Grosso and his team to anyone buying or selling a house in the area.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Finding realtor with HomeLight

By Dong Liu, Syracuse, NY, Verified Reviewer

HomeLight has been extremely helpful in providing information of different realtors. Its platform is able to provide me with several choices of real estate agents and recommendations to select when I decided to sell my house.

The process is very easy as well. I just gave them the basic information, and based on that, they provided me with several top choices that are all great in their own form. After subsequently interviewing the candidates that I felt interested in, I found my real estate agent. With a combination of his expertise in marketing and recommendations for preparations, my house was sold very quickly with a price that I am very satisfied.

HomeLight played a critical role, in the beginning, to provide me with the information and data, so that I can pick the right agent for me, which resulted in a smooth real estate transaction for my family. Highly recommended!

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Issue resolved

By Matthew C., Florida, Verified Reviewer

When I knew I was in the market for my first home, I took to the internet to find info on seeking out a buyer's agent. Through my searches, I found HomeLight, a service that pairs potential buyers with well-qualified local agents. With very little effort on my part, HomeLight connected me with multiple agents who contacted me almost immediately. Among these was Monique Justice, a wonderful agent who did a fantastic job helping me to navigate the purchase of my home. Due to the ease of use and quality of the agents I was presented, I'd highly recommend HomeLight for finding a realtor.

HomeLight helped with my home buying

By Thomas H., Tennessee, Verified Reviewer

This service was helpful at first as I didn’t even know how to buy a house. After filling out some info I was immediately contacted by two different agents both claiming to be from HomeLight and worked for Ann Hoke Reality. It was confusing as I didn’t know who to go with so I went with the first agent at the beginning. She showed us two houses and then was done with us. Didn’t even call back untill a month later. The second agent made us sign a contract so we couldn’t get another one (agent) and this agent really only showed us houses that we looked up on Trulia and Zillow. She didn’t do any legwork but did do all necessary paperwork with bids and finally the contract, and closing.

All in, after going through this...the next house I buy, I’m going to do my own research and get a real estate agent of my choosing and one I can let go if I don’t feel they are doing their job. I would suggest this service if you’ve never bought a house and don’t know where to start, but it’s jaded me. I understand HomeLight can’t screen the agents, but they did a good job of putting them in touch with me. I got several calls from agents but only dealt with the first two. It would be a good idea to carefully pick the agent you like.

I don’t know if this helps anyone but it was my experience and I’m in my new home now that I found, myself, and asked her (the agent) to show it to us.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Condescending customer "service"

By Terry D., Danbury, CT, Verified Reviewer

A customer service person whom I will call Zorro called me today while I was in the middle of a particularly difficult problem in my work, and asked if I had yet talked to any of the real estate agents that HomeLight's lead-generation service had referred to me. I was amazed at Zorro's condescending attitude. He:

- Tried to correct the wording of my questions.

- Wouldn't tell me his last name.

- Said he didn't know how much the agents who work with HomeLight pay for their leads, claimed this was immaterial because I didn't have to pay it directly (but of course I do pay at least part of it indirectly, and this, of course, will ultimately influence the sale price of my home), indicated that others in the company would know the answer, but refused to forward me to someone who did.

- Accused me of "interrupting continuously [sic]" when I failed to wait for him to finish explaining things to me that I've known for 30 years.

- Told me I wasn't listening to him (I was).

- At one point said, "Let me tell you how the real estate industry works" (I've been buying and selling real estate since 1979).

- Refused to let me talk to his supervisor.

- Refused to listen to my suggestion that his company revises its online claim that "agents can't pay us to be listed" (I'm paraphrasing), which most readers will misinterpret in a way that constitutes a corporate falsehood on the part of HomeLight.

I must admit that I was unusually blunt in my reactions to Zorro's foolish attitude, but as I've learned from 50 years in business, no matter how angry a customer gets, for the good of my business it is my job to remain polite and de-escalate his or her ire, not to fan the flames. Zack seemed clueless on this account. Maybe he, too, was having a bad day - but he was being paid to maintain a businesslike attitude, and I wasn't.

When I asked Zorro how long he had had his job at HomeLight, he said, "About a year." I suggest that HomeLight look into improving its customer service training.

HomeLight for the win!

By Glenn B., Montgomery, TX, Verified Reviewer

We first heard about on HomeLight on TV and gave it a try. The website is very easy to navigate and we were immediately contacted by the agents HomeLight selected for us. The agent we selected was outstanding and we were able to sell our home to the first couple that came and looked at it at full ask. Agents selected by HomeLight are definitely the cream of the crop and the results spoke for themselves.

Thanks.

Obviously a scam operation

By Tommy G., Denton, MD, Verified Reviewer

My home was built in 1988 and when I entered the address to see the value since I'm planning to sell, I get a message something like "no such address" so must be a scam! Beware!

Thank you HomeLight and your partners

By Mike Richins, Tucson, AZ, Verified Reviewer

When we decided to sell a rental property, I reached out to HomeLight since I did not know any realtors and we lived out of town and were limited what we could do. I did reach out to some local realtors as well as HomeLight, but the references provided by HomeLight were the only ones that followed through and returned calls.

The referred relator, Chris Craven with Realtor Executives, even went out of his way and provided us with recommendations on remodeling decisions before we even signed a contract with him, even though it was a low priced home without a significant commission. The home sold much quicker than we expected and we sold it more then what I thought we would get out of it.

Great experience thanks to HomeLight and Chris Craven.

Recommend

By Leah Campbell, Illinois, Verified Reviewer

When my husband and I found out he was offered a promotion in Rochelle, Illinois, we knew that we wanted to buy a house in the area. As potential first time home buyers, we had no idea where to start with the process. We wanted to make sure we selected a realtor that fit our needs but knew nobody in the area to help refer us to a good realtor. Thanks to HomeLight we were matched with a genuine and honest real estate agent who played a significant role in the home buying process.

Good job, difficult times

By Thomas R Metro, Florida, Verified Reviewer

I recently sold a house in the Florida Keys with the help of a HomeLight referred real estate agent. We had Hurricane Irma come through with a 7-foot storm surge with water inside the house. After some massive reconstruction on the house, it was ready to be sold in a matter of months. Even during the construction, our agent Lisa Frins had people looking at the house. It was amazing. We finally sold it this January as a cash deal. Sweet.
