We contacted HomeLight after a not so positive experience with a realtor that was referred to us by a friend who was unable to sell our home. We interviewed three realtors that HomeLight suggested and decided to go with the Merrill group because of their experience as well as their ability to sell unique homes (we have a 100+-year-old multi-family house) such as ours. Sam Merrill met with us, walked through the home, gave some helpful suggestions in which we did. We put a fresh coat of paint on a kitchen, a little cleaning up of the sheetrock in a bedroom and the house was listed a week later. It took only three days on the market before we had a solid offer on the house that was over the asking price! We decided to keep showing the house until we knew the first buyer was secured. The following day after the first offer, we had a second offer for over the selling price, there was no doubt that the house would be sold this time and it did!

The sale process was relatively painless due to Sam's guidance and advice from start to finish. I highly recommend this realtor, the service was so good that we referred my brother and he is selling his house too through the Merrills.

They are the best around, and I would not hesitate to refer them again to anyone who needs their services.

HomeLight attempts to dazzle comes up very short. This "benefit" made available through my employer who gave a shiny presentation on the surface but I was left less than satisfied.

They claim to kick back as much as $2500 cash after closing on your home purchase. As it turns out, you have to buy a house for 2.5 million to get that. If you buy for $100,000 you get a measly $100. Yes, $100 is nothing to really complain about but the way HomeLight goes about it is. There is not one single place on their website that up front that tells what this number is.

This wasn't the only disappointment from them. They also brag they put you in touch with top agents in the area you are shopping. The agent I dealt with was top notch but I think the connection was pure luck. Every other time I wanted an agent in a different area, they said I would get a call, never did, ever. I called over and over again to get some help but in the end, I should have just stopped thinking about the mystery money and worked on my own.

HomeLight got a cut of this sale and tossed me pennies. You are better off going on your own or trying to find someone more useful. I regret using them.

I was VERY unhappy with the real estate agent HomeLight matched me with, his communication throughout the process was terrible. When the buyer’s inspection report came back, he took nearly a week to get it over to me. I attempted calling, texting, emailing and he would not reply. I finally had to get in contact with his manager who sent it over to me. He also took days upon days to reply to my emails, and in many cases, he wouldn’t answer my questions fully. The real icing on the cake was when the closing date came he did not show up! Thanks a lot for the recommendation HomeLight.

I entered my email and phone number to "Receive Information" from HomeLight. Within 30 seconds, my cell phone literally exploded with incoming calls from realtors. I then received an email and a phone call from a Zach Hall (Account Executive), which I could not answer because there were no less than four incoming calls happening on my call waiting. When I called Zach back to request that he delete my account, he was RUDE, EVASIVE and then hung up on me.

Unless you are simply looking to have your number spammed across every realtor in your zip code, AVOID THIS SERVICE!

HomeLight was helpful in searching for a real estate agent that was in our area. Once we had the options of agents to assist us in selling our home, we looked at the choices and settled on one. The real estate agent that we were paired up with was very good. He took care of us and his staff guided us on every step of the way. We were not sure who we would get to sell our house. With HomeLight, we were able to research people out there to help us. Our real estate agent was very aggressive in making sure our house was sold. HomeLight was a very good tool to use to help search through all the possibilities that exist out there for a real estate agent. We would recommend them.

As we began the process of listing our home, I contacted HomeLight to see what services they offer in helping us. I was pleasantly surprised to receive at least three agents for consideration, complete with qualifying information. I spoke to four agents in total and interviewed two, including Gregg Tepper, who was the HomeLight top recommendation. Gregg came well prepared with comparable sales of homes in the area and what turned out to be a very accurate estimate of the home's value. He toured the house and suggested several improvements, one of which was not readily apparent to me. The house sold within ten days of the listing going live and closed in six weeks total.

Some people may not be aware of HomeLight or feel they are experienced enough to select an agent without advice. To both those and the less experienced I recommend contacting HomeLight. It was well worth it to me, and I am one of those "experienced" people.

I was searching for a realtor that would be able to showcase my townhouse/condo for sale. I reached out to HomeLight to see if they could recommend a realtor to meet my needs. They referred to a couple of real estate agents and I found Ms. Margaret Thorne. HomeLight was able to match me with the exact type of person I needed. She was professional, energetic and knew how to present the condo in the most favorable manner. The condo sold quickly and for a great price. I will recommend HomeLight to others.

My experience working with HomeLight and Mahoo Realty was very positive. I really enjoyed the experience.

I had a piece of mind knowing that my home would be sold. Everything went through smoothly on their end. They were there every step of the way through the whole process to make sure we accomplished what the task was - selling the home, and we did just that.

I originally got on HomeLight because I thought it was a site for me to look up and read about realtors with their reviews and performance. However, I found out HomeLight had already done my homework on local realtors. Within 5 minutes after contacting HomeLight, 5 top-rated realtors called me that have great reviews and were top performers and all had solid experience selling homes in my neighborhood. One realtor was number two in sales for the entire state. He sells hundreds of homes a year. The most difficult thing was who to select. It finally came down to chemistry and I selected one. I was very concerned about the price of my home because it was a significantly larger home than my neighbors which made the price look high. Bottom line, I got the price I wanted and the home sold in seven days. Admittedly I also made sure I had a good product to sell by remodeling home prior to selling. It’s easy to select a realtor but it’s not easy to find the top realtors that are good at their jobs. HomeLight makes it easy. HomeLight does the homework for you. You have nothing to lose, I also found out HomeLight offers many services beyond what I used. You are not under any obligation to use who they send you and it did not cost me anything to use the service I used.

I wanted to let you know how wonderful April is. She is what I call a "real go-getter."

She marketed our home with great enthusiasm and I knew after our first conversation she would sell it.

Her customer service was amazing. No matter how many times we called she would answer or return it as soon as possible.

I called HomeLight because of an ad on TV, I was ready for a change in a realtor, and your company certainly provided the best!

I moved to Connecticut for my work and was staying with a friend while I tried to sort out my own living situation. It was stressful, to say the least! I really wanted to turn things over to someone who knew the area well. I called HomeLight and ended up choosing the second agent who they introduced to me. She was nothing but helpful, and she went above and beyond through the whole process of helping me find my new home.
