Definitely worth a try

By Reilly M., Toronto, Canada, Verified Reviewer

Especially if you have had persistent and often drug-resistant period pain like I have. I find that my Livia tends to take care of mild cramps no problem, and for really bad spells, an ibuprofen in combination with the Livia does the trick in reducing my pain to manageable levels.

It's pretty comfortable to wear and they're really discreet, easily hidden under a t-shirt (or not hidden if you don't want to, they have cute case options!) so you can go about your normal day.

It's been a significant improvement to my previous (but restrictive) method of curling up in a bath so hot it is borderline scalding and crying for like 4 hours, so I'd definitely recommend trying it out if you think it might work for you!

I think my only complaint is that it's sometimes tricky when putting it on to find the sweet spot, but that might also just be my own incompetence.

Length of Use: 6–12 months

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Pros and Cons

Drug-free (or at least drug-reduced)

Great portable device

By Amanda S., Prince Edward Island, Canada, Verified Reviewer

I got my Livia as part of the original Indiegogo campaign and mine arrived in Spring of 2017. I have used it since then.

I have dysmenorrhea and ovarian cysts. The Livia gave me enough relief to be able to do some everyday things on days I normally wouldn't have made it out of bed.

The battery lasts quite a long time (around 6 hours I think) but also takes about half that time to charge so when the battery dies, I am waiting a few hours for it to get back to full charge.

The flower pads are comfortable and stick well with the gel liners, but the cords do eventually break. Because they are a proprietary design, you cannot use other TENS machine pads as the cord plugs indifferently. Very recently I have found it hard to find replacement flower pads for purchase.

Length of Use: 2+ years

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Pros and Cons

Effective pain relief

Portable

Alternative to pain relief drugs

Long lasting

Battery charging time

Difficulty getting replacement flower pads

Cord length could be a bit more adjustable

Livia for me has a lot of potential

By Melanie W., Munich, Germany, Verified Reviewer

It doesn't take away the pain fully for me, but it makes it easier to get through it and wait for the painkillers to kick in - if they do.

I can't give 5 stars because of an issue I have with the connection between the cable and the device. It needs to be connected in a specific angle to work and under clothes that's not always a given, so sometimes I don't have the stimulation due to my clothes pressing the cable into a wrong angle, and out of nowhere it gets back. That's a bit annoying.

Also, it is hard to purchase Livia in Germany, but other than that I hope Livia will grow and get better and better, because I think it is an important topic and it isn't okay for women to suffer during their period once a month...

Keep it up!

Length of Use: 1–2 years

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Pros and Cons

It lessens the cramps for me

It is finally something for period pain, which is a big taboo still

It is discrete

The connection between the pads and the device isn't stable for me

It sometimes falls off my pants when I move too much

The shipping was a bit bad since it took a lot of taxes

Life changing

By Maria K., United Kingdom, Verified Reviewer

Fantastic device! Helped me to stop taking painkillers. It helped me a lot at work. I have an active job and this helped me to focus on my patients rather than my pain.

The skins are cute, it's easy to use, and the box is very useful, but could be a touch bigger.

One thing to note, you can't use it while it's charging.

Love it and can't recommend it enough!
