Still trying first bottle.

By Annette D., Nevada City, CA, Verified Reviewer

We have 2 dogs - 5-month-old puppy and 11-year-old Sr. The Sr is a Shih Tzu. With her it took her about a week to try the food with the Nutra Thrive sprinkled on it. We increased the dose until she was up to the full scoop. I think with her we’ve noticed a bit more spunk. She’s able to keep up when we take the puppy for walks. But still is pretty sedentary during the day. Her appetite is definitely improved.

The puppy (Queensland mix) loves her Nutra Thrive food. It’s gone in seconds! But she has gas! When she lays next to us (the very short time in the day she’s calm and quiet!) she’s passing gas. Maybe you’ll have suggestions for us. She is on Science Diet Puppy.

We are just finishing the first bottle. Our order was for 3.

Thank you.

It's doing good so far

By Anthony A., Georgia, Verified Reviewer

My dog Lucy is doing wonderful, granted she's still a puppy, not quite 1 year old, but her birthday is in June. She has a lot of energy, which is normal for most puppies, but it's good energy, in other words, so doesn't go outside and start eating grass and bugs and other stuff that might cause her to get sick. I pay a lot of attention to her and I make sure she's eating like she is supposed to. Right now she's looking very healthy, which I pay close attention too. Her coat is looking wonderful and her breath smells about right even though she's still young. I would recommend this product to many people if they looking for something that will benefit the dog and it's not too pricey. Now I only feed my dog 2 cups of dry food and a little bit of wet food (helps to mix up the powder) in the morning and 2 cups in the evening but she doesn't even eat it towards the evening, before I would feed her 2 and 1/2 in the morning and 2 and 1/2 in the evening and she would go outside and eat other garbage because she wasn't getting want she needed in her diet. Note, I don't have to worry about that even though I still watch what she eats when she's outside (she's trying to figure out what stuff is by treating everything because she's still a pup).

Dogs love it

By MaryAnn S., Florida, Verified Reviewer

I have 3 rescue dogs. The youngest one is always full of energy and loves her food. She laps up the Nutra Thrive and continues to be a very healthy girl. Lots of energy, good bowels, etc. She has always had a tummy problem that causes her to vomit bile occasionally despite taking 10 mg. of Pepcid daily. This hasn't happened for a while. Maybe the Nutra Thrive has helped.

My oldest dog is 15 years old and is blind, deaf, nearly toothless, has bad knees in his back legs, and has thyroid disease. He also laps up the Nutra Thrive but I can't honestly say that any of his ailments have gotten better. I was hoping for better mobility but it hasn't happened.

My middle dog is 11 years old and he has bladder crystals for which he gets prescription food. I have not given him Nutra Thrive because I am concerned that it might cause issues with his bladder. He is not a good eater and I wish I could add Nutra Thrive to see if it would entice him to eat.

Bella is about 14...

By Dorothy F., Clovis, CA, Verified Reviewer

Bella is a Weimaraner. She has many fatty tumors. She was diagnosed with cancer in 2015. She has trouble getting around. Here is the good news. Before starting her on Nutra Thrive, her stools were black and tarry. After a month on Nutra Thrive, the stools are formed and brown. No signs of the black tarry stools. She still has trouble getting up and down, but seems to do better. She is demanding of her food since it has Nutra Thrive on it. We feed her Kirtland’s organic food. It seems to meet the ingredients you have suggested. I also make biscuits for her. Apple, oats, kale, and honey. I process it in my food processor, spread it on a cookie sheet and score it. Then bake it and let it dry out until it is dry enough to store. I hope I am not imagining that some of those fatty tumors seem to be getting smaller.

More alert

By Barb S., Denver, CO, Verified Reviewer

My Benji is a 15-year-old Pug - Bull Mastiff mix. For the last couple of years, she spent almost all of her time sleeping, no longer alert, and also has hip problems, and trouble with stairs. Started to give her glucosamine, which helped her mobility, but as soon as she is showing signs of being more mobile, she keeps spitting it out. I figured the lack of alertness was age, but decided to see if this made a difference. I didn't give her the full scoop daily as recommended but she usually received at least 1/2 a scoop, and she has started meeting people at the door again, and is a lot more alert. Did I mention that she got to the point where she didn't even pay attention when the fridge was opened? Unheard of. Can't open it now without her being there. So between the 2 products, she is more alert and mobile. Someone else mentioned their dog having fatty tumors, Benji also has these, and this definitely has not helped with them.

Good so far

By Joseph P., Philadelphia, PA, Verified Reviewer

My dog is a black lab Rottweiler mix, female, 7 years old. She exhibits allergy symptoms year around as well as weight gain flatulence and some joint pain. I started her on Nutra Thrive close to 20 days ago and am now seeing some impact (positive) for her. My dog's gas has all but disappeared. She used to leave gas 20 times a day. My dog can now accompany me in a walk of 1.5 miles without exhibiting pain. She also climbs stairs at home quicker. Her coat is a bit shinier as it was quite dull previously. Lastly, she is no longer exhibiting the constant foot chewing and ear shaking scratching. Of note, these issues seemed to get worse in the first 2 weeks but then quickly reversed course and now are low or gone.

Happy with results

By Rhonda M., Shannon Hills, AR, Verified Reviewer

Our poor dog was lethargic, had terrible allergies and stunk so bad we couldn't let her in her the house. She itched so bad, she would chew her hair off and make her skin bleed. After a couple of weeks, she's eating much better, is peppy, smell is much better, and itching has decreased a lot. She looks healthier and happier overall. She likes the taste also.

Our puppy's back!

By Bud and Lynette B., St. Joseph, MO, Verified Reviewer

We have been so pleased with our 14-year-old Shih Tzu's response to Nutra Thrive. She licks her plate clean and licks some more to get all the powder. Some days we also cut up pieces of the Nutra Bites to top her meal.

Our once-picky eater seems to thrive with this. She zooms through the house again and truly seems more bright-eyed and alert.

Length of Use: 6–12 months

Good

By Terry H., Riverview, FL, Verified Reviewer

At first my dog wasn't sure if he liked the supplement, but now he eats just fine. I split his dose between his two meals a day.

After about a week I noticed his bowel movements were firmer. My dog is a Labradoodle and has had allergy issues, which now seem to be not as bad.

All in all, I feel better knowing he is getting the things he needs in this product to have a more healthy, happy life.

Some changes

By John F., SilverhillI, AL, Verified Reviewer

So far Nutra Thrive seems to be working somewhat. You have to mix it with some sort of liquid for them to really eat it. I use a little buttermilk mixed in their food to disguise your product.

Length of Use: Less than 3 months

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Pros and Cons

No “pros” were specified in this review

Must disguise it for the dogs
