Customer Service

Terrible customer service. They say something but don't follow up with it. Please take everything in writing.

Bait and switch

By Attila, WA, Verified Reviewer

You order a product (that incidentally has many versions of) that has a very good price on it, but you get sent something that is much cheaper on the market. I will be specific - Acetyl L-Carnitine and L-Carnitine. The first is much cheaper, and that's what you get sent when you order the more expensive version L-Carnitine. Sounds like an effective way to be able to advertise very low prices, by using old fashioned low life bait and switch techniques. Now to get what you need, you have to pay to send it back, and then go find it where you will get sent what you order. For the record, my order sheet says I ordered the ALC, but has a different price than what they have on their records, and it's labeled as a substitute.

Another scam and fake product from India

By Adrian A., Florida, Verified Reviewer

My first experience buying from this company was very negative and will be my last. The company is located in Ronkonkoma, New York. It is managed mostly by India personal using inferior substandard products and try to scam, and sell fake products as a business model.

I ordered Colloidal minerals that supposed to contain Fulvic acid that is dark brown, but the bottle liquid is clear - only water and preservatives. I asked why the color is clear when it suppose to be yellow/brown?

That means the product does not contain ANY Fulvic acid as listed - just water and preservatives. They say return it, what about.

Also, there is a gross mistake on the label that says "liquid colloidal mineral blend 30ml." It should be "30 mg." You measure minerals by weight not volume since they are salts. That clearly shows a fake product.

Their strategy is to make you pay for return shipping to discourage returns, don't pay return shipping but dispute the charge with your credit company and complain to BBB.

Maybe they will investigate and shout down the scam.

Not recommended

First of all, the vitamins made me sick. They use cheap quality ingredients. One bottle had multiple broken tablets.

Sucralose in some supplements

By John, OR, Verified Reviewer

I am a relatively new Piping Rock customer. However, in a recent order I received, I noticed a very sweet taste to the melatonin I ordered. I looked on the label and noticed that they put Sucralose in it. I have no idea why they would put Sucralose in their products, definitely not a health product but a chemical. I contacted them saying I wanted a melatonin without Sucralose in it. They said they did not have any and they offered no solution, including a refund. As most people who buy health products know, Sucralose is not a health product but an anti-health product. So, I ask, do they have an agenda by putting this negative health product in their supplements?

The jury is still out on this one…

By Elizabeth Michael, Moffat, CO, Verified Reviewer

So I registered, placed my order, remembered to add 1 more item, hoping it wasn't too late on 10/4. Then I get an OOPs email saying it didn't go through on 10/5, AND I get a confirmation that they added on my item.

Then I get another text saying it didn't go through. I call them and they say they have no record of the order, they don't send out messages like that and they don't add on to orders already placed, also do I have the right company?

So their customer service department will make you out to be a complete idiot. Their prices can't be beaten, I want to know are they for real?

Do not do business from the company

By RW Rose, California, Verified Reviewer

Piping Rock's "F" rating with the Better Business Bureau says it all. I have experienced all of the same issues other complainants have expressed here and elsewhere.

Slow delivery and bait and switch thievery (showing "coupon code" discount on the order page then removing it when you checkout).

When I finally got my order, two of the three items ordered were shown as substituted, so I checked the website and the items shipped were $3.00 less than what I was charged. Now, the $3.00 is not the point, but by this time I was so pissed off, dissatisfied and tired of being ripped off by this company, I called "Customer Service" and very politely asked them to credit my account for the $3.00 overcharge. Needless to say, they seemed horrified that I would ask for such a thing. Stating that it was not their policy and would not give me any credit or refund. Of course, there was no supervisor available to take this up with, and basically, it was "screw you!"

I could go on and on, but I believe you get the gist of this awful company, and I hope you think twice before you spend your hard earned with Piping Rock when there are so many reputable companies out there.

Reviews Are All Similar

By Alison, NC, Verified Reviewer

I do not trust Piping Rock because the vitamin reviews all sound the same. None of the reviews give specifics info about the products themselves, as reviewers do on Amazon and other sites. Rather, the reviews are generic and praise Piping Rock in general.

I have ordered several vitamins from Piping Rock. I find many of them to be large, hard, oval-ish shaped tablets. They appear very chalky. I recommend consumers read reviews and decide whether they sound authentic.

Bait and SWITCH

By Barb Rickey, South Carolina, Verified Reviewer

I have ordered from them before and no problem. I got an email that stated a B1G1 free sale was on, clicked the link and it said that there were over 100 items and to view click. I did and found several and purchased. Even verified it on chat that I would be getting quantity of two (it was showing only one on my checkout page) and was told 2 would be sent. Well I ordered and less than 45 min later, I received shipping confirm ( normally great) and noticed I was only getting 1 of each item and 2 of another.

I called and was told there were "crazy deals" on that page too and they weren't B1G1. All the items had crazy deal emblems, and 16 that were intermingled didn't! I said that I wanted to cancel and was told it was too late and they would have to cancel the whole order, which I agreed to. And then I was told they couldn't do that. Buyer beware, they will put other items in with the "special" sale items link or not.

Don't buy

By P Jacobs, United Kingdom, Verified Reviewer

If you are in any country other than the USA, I would strongly suggest you not purchase anything from Piping Rock! I have been forced to pay over £11 ($14.25) for a £20 ($25.90) order! At no time was it clear that I wasn't buying from the United Kingdom.

Obviously, my mistake, but hopefully you won't make the same one. It should be clearly stated at check out and not just hidden away in the postal window.

Postage charges

By Susan Ashcroft, United Kingdom, Verified Reviewer

I ordered odorless garlic and vitamin D3 costing £18.66, plus £5.23 shipping. When my order arrived, it came with a fee to pay of £11.64 for a customs charge. I didn’t pay, of course, and it is on its way back to America.

I complained and was told it was my fault, and I should have read the small print. Also, I won’t be getting a full refund, which I’m not really bothered about, I just want people to know.

And please, read the small print because if anything bad happens, it’s your fault.

I would leave a minus rating if I could. Rip-off merchants!
