Genuinely disappointed

Okay, so I went through all the impression kits and everything and I received an email at about 6 pm saying that my photos have been reviewed and approved, then was told that I was officially on my way to a smile I would love. Then two hours later I get another email telling me that I am not approved and need to visit a dentist office to plan my smile transformation, even though one of the main reasons I chose them was so I didn’t have to run into the dentist office once a month.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Aligner works, but NO DELTA DENTAL coverage

So first, the aligners work, and the process is all fine.

BUT,

I know it is the buyer's job top check with insurance on coverage, SmileDirect does not promise insurance reimbursement, but they make it sound as if there is always a possibility. They know, and knew, that Delta dental does NOT cover this treatment. Mail-order services are not covered by Delta Dental.

SmileDirect insurance dept made it appear as if they tried to work with Delta Dental, and support my claim, but when speaking with Delta Dental (3 different states) they make it clear that 1st the treating Orthodontist is not registered with them, and that they do not cover this treatment, and if SmileDirect really had called them to investigate my coverage, they would have told them over and over again that SmileDirect mail-order treatments are NOT covered.

SmileDirect later explained that, YES, some insurance does not cover mail order treatments. Funny they used the same term. They knew exactly, all along, but did not share or warn me up front.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Vibrant experience

Meet with Myriam at the Three Chopt location inside of CVS Richmond, VA. Myriam was very knowledgeable, very attentive and explain the process thoroughly. I was impressed with the entire experience and very excited for my journey.

Not monitored by orthodontists, insurance and benefits denied

This service may start under the direction of an orthodontist, but from what I can ascertain, there are no follow-ups done by a trained professional to ensure the treatment is progressing safely and as intended. I have had several conversations with SmileDirectClub representatives asking that very question, and they continue to dance around the subject without providing a real answer. "Is the treatment monitored by an orthodontist or dentist" - they will not answer that question directly, instead you will receive answers to different questions like "what monitoring is in place", but never will they tell you if it is a doctor doing it or not. As a result, YOUR INSURANCE OR BENEFITS PROVIDER WILL LIKELY DENY YOUR CLAIM. In my case, my claim was accepted and then revoked after they found out it was SmileDirect. Don't let this happen to you. I found the SmileDirect staff to be misleading and unhelpful. Do yourself a favor and see a legitimate dental professional.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Friendly service

I walked into the SmileDirectClub (SDC) facility and was immediately given a warm greeting. The SDC staff helped guide me through the SDC website to sign up for a free 3D scanning. They even informed me about the $100 discount I was eligible to receive because of a family members referral who's already an SDC member. I spoke to Renee who guided me through the entire process as to what I should expect to receive once my liners came in the mail.

The 3D scanning of my teeth was done effortlessly by Renee. I'd have to say that was the coolest part! Renee had the perfect blend of being personable and professional all in one. I would recommend anyone go to SDC located at 1755 Boy Scout Drive in Fort Myers, FL. That SDC staff is amazing!

All in all, I left the SDC building feeling even more confident than when I walked in. I knew I made the right decision. I'm counting down the days until I receive my liners in the mail. I'm six months away from having the smile I've always wanted!

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Customer service says whatever you want to here

When I first started SmileDirectClub everything was great. My aligners came on time they had a few issues but were easily fixed. They communicated with me through text and email to change aligners, etc. Fast forward to 6 weeks before my treatment plan was over NO texts or emails to change aligners. Threw me off my plan but not too much. Explained at the end that I wasn’t happy with how I finished my treatment plan and they told me to come in for a re-evaluation to continue treatment. Great, everything was still ok UNTIL I wait 3 weeks with no reply of when my new set will be sent to me. Called customer service, I was told they were on their way. The package comes and it’s the retainer. Mind you, the retainer wasn’t even the full mold of my mouth, only half! Called them to ask what’s going on since I don’t need a retainer because I’m continuing treatment and they tell me it was a mix-up and they sent the wrong one. Told me to wait 10 business days to receive the correct aligners. I wait 13 business days to call because again NO COMMUNICATION on when they are delivered. Told they are backed up and it should be sent in a few days. Nope! Called again 5 days after that and was told by one person they are backed up but then sent to another person that says they don’t have my order and have to submit it again! It’s been 5 weeks! Again they tell me 10 business days! I’m using the last aligner set from my treatment that ended almost 3 months ago! The aligners are cracked. If I don’t wear them my teeth will shift back and all of my progress will be for nothing. Again no communication on SDC part and just lies to keep you calm. At this point, they say anything to get you off the phone. Since all of this happened I wouldn’t recommend them at this point.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Just love it, good vibes and friendly people, will recommend this to anybody. It’s close by so not far of a drive, and it’s so worth it. I wish I would have started this, by the looks of it, the process is not long at all, very affordable.

Part 1 of the journey

The initial exam experience was great. I'm so excited to get started. If the aligners work I will become a spokesperson. The customer service is excellent and the process was so effortless. Every dentist appointment I've ever had has been traumatic. But, this was NOTHING like that. It was nice, relaxed, and almost even fun. I so hope this works.

Jay is the BEST!

Yesterday I visited the SmileDirectClub in Harlem, and I say the customer service there is amazing! As soon as you walk in it's like a breath of fresh air, the employees are extremely friendly, and they like to get you started quickly. I did my scanning process with Jay, and she made me feel super comfortable, I felt like I've known her for years. She was very welcoming and nice. She also made me laugh a lot which made my experience very comfortable. She explained everything I needed to know. She gave me a detailed summary about the company. She told me step by step to tell me what I need to do when the aligners get to me. And gave me a more reasonable purpose of why I should perfect my smile. I appreciate her! Jay is a perfect asset in this company, this company will make far as long as Jay is in it!

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

3D scan/initial consultation

The young lady who checked me in and escorted me to the 3D scan was so nice. She asked if I had a referral code because I could save money. When I advised no she gave me time to reach out to someone I knew who used SmileDirect to get a referral code and I saved money. She could have just let me pay full price so that was a nice plus. I then sat in the room and the rep Stef was also such a pleasure. She was informative and made me very comfortable. I would definitely recommend coming to this location. The staff was nice, the staff went above and the office was very clean. The only reason I did not give a full 5 stars is because I was advised the consult would only take 30 minutes and I was there over an hour. It was not a big deal for me because I wasn’t in a rush. Nor was it the employees' fault the system wasn’t scanning properly. Overall I had a pleasurable experience. Once I am a few trays in I will come back and review my experience.

Awesome experience!

I had my consultation just yesterday. I was nervous but everyone made the experience enjoyable. I would like to say the entire process was seamless. Check-in was super easy. The team was friendly and professional. My SmileGuide, Bysheba, was just awesome. It was like catching up with a friend. I really don’t know what more I could say. When I walked outside, the whole team was there and they were like a family. It was a very genuine interaction and I feel I made the right choice on my journey to a beautiful smile.
