Great initial visit

I was super hesitant to go at first (I have done the braces route before), but after watching someone else love their aligners from SmileDirectClub, I figured it was time to give it a try myself. The price is definitely reasonable and it would be cheaper for me than seeing an actual orthodontist again! My smile guide Kim was very nice and made sure I was comfortable and answered all of my questions thoroughly. Kim also went through all possible payment plans and was not very pushy to get this, which is how a lot of people are with products they are selling or just simply working with. I left very happy that I went. Thanks Kim and Anna!

SmileDirectClub's SmileBus was the BEST help! Highly recommend going if one comes your way!

I went for my scan for the SmileDirectClub's aligners at the SmileDirectClub SmileBus which happened to come nearby; it was a lucky coincidence they had the SmileBus coming so close to me because I had already been looking into aligners and specifically this company. I went and my experience was better than I could've ever expected! Not only were they helpful, they exceeded my expectations with the amount of knowledge they actually had on everything involved in this and answered every single question I had. Luckily, I had Dee as my SmileGuide and I can't imagine there to have been anyone better helping me than her. She was amazing, helpful and extremely friendly; she made me comfortable and didn't mind answering my million questions or me being so antsy. She was an absolute joy and SmileDirectClub is lucky to have Dee for an employee, she definitely deserves the recognition.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Consultation visit

Rina did a great job explaining how aligners work. She was so friendly. Thanks for the free gifts. These aligners are great for people with crooked teeth or gaps. I am still on the fence because if you pay a full amount it was $1800.00 or pay $85.00 monthly for two years.

No reason to be nervous

I didn't know what to expect going in. I'm hesitant about dentists. I met Amber, my smile guide, and she was so friendly and inquiring about who I was and she set my mind at ease. Overall it was a great experience and I'm really looking forward to a better smile. I want to smile all the time so my cheeks hurt.

Very poor turnaround

What started as a great experience at the Wilton office of SmileDirect has turned out to be very frustrating. Before I rant, please note that the Wilton staff is excellent, so this is not a reflection on them but on the parent company.

After the initial 5-month treatment I went back to the Wilton, CT office and was told that I would need to continue treatment since my teeth weren't 100% straight. That was on August 2. For reasons which no one can explain, the new aligners were not ordered for over 3 weeks. It has now been almost 10 weeks since the revisit and 6 weeks since the order was placed - not the 4-5 weeks turnaround which is advertised.

I have now worn a set of 2-week aligners for 10+ weeks; the bottom broke in half a month ago so I have been wearing it in 2 pieces - and the top also has a large crack. I'm certain they are not doing the job and my teeth have already shifted. I have called several times and am repeatedly told that the aligners should arrive shortly. Last week I was assured they were "in production".

Today I decided to reach out via email instead of phone. I was assured that they would be shipped on October 20th - 2 weeks from now! What happened to "they're in production"? And since October 20th is a Sunday, that's hardly credible...

I am now concerned that the new aligners won't fit when they finally get here as I really can no longer wear the old ones. So while I was originally very happy with the progress of my teeth, it has been 2 steps forward and 10 steps back...Really SmileDirect? I know you charge less than the local dentist but I expected better than this.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Good system - HORRIBLE customer service and shipping

Well...I was so excited to get my aligners - a little over a year ago, but then things went down hill. I wore my aligners for about 7 months - got my retainers. Teeth weren’t exactly aligned, so I had another scan and 2 more months of new aligners. While I was wearing those, I put in my order for the next set of retainers which took more than 8 weeks to get to me and I wasn’t happy (I mean, they were exactly the same as the last set of aligners so it NEVER should have taken them so long). By the time I received them, SmileDirect had put 2 free sets of retainers in my file.

So here we are months later and my teeth have been shifting so on August 5th I went for another scan which was approved. Over a week later, I received an email saying it wasn’t done properly and I needed another scan. So on August 22nd (yes, 17 days later), I went for another scan. After the scan, they wanted to know why I had come in (seriously?). So my dashboard says it will be 4-5 weeks to get my next 2 months of aligners, yet it’s now October 9th. Yesterday I called, and after difficulty with my representative, I spoke with a manager because the phone system says they are being prepped for shipment. In the meantime, I’m wearing old retainers that are loose. So, I got an email today telling me they will try (because of the number of orders) to ship them before the end of October - WHAT THE HECK? Oh yeah, but they’re going to give me 2 free sets of retainers...obviously they are incapable of meeting demand and I understand that new customers bring in the money, but as an existing customer - they really don’t care!

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend
