Bad, bruised, extreme pain, messes up face

By Susan Harris, San Diego, CA , Verified Reviewer

I am over 50 and tired of looking old. Had loose skin on my jaw line. They assured me I would look better and I would not be bruised. They lied and charged me $7000 to mess up my face. It is still swollen and black and blue and one side has a hole in the jaw next to my lip. I plan on filing a law suit. They even charged me $132 for an $8 tube of Arnicare. These people need to be stopped from screwing up people's faces. They spend thousands on advertising to suck you in. Take my advice. Go someplace else for a facelift.

My wife has been conned

By Drew Orme, Seminole, FL, Verified Reviewer

My wife has been desperately trying to lose weight prior to our 'Christen wedding' next weekend. Unknown to me until the day before her appointment (about 2 weeks ago ) she told me she was going to see someone about losing weight, she assured me she wasn't going to book any procedure but just to see what this Sono Bello was all about. During the day she sent me a text at work and asked me to trust her about a decision she made to go through with the procedure of laser liposuction. I was concerned about the cost but she assured me (after deliberation) we could afford it. Knowing she was desperate to lose the weight (body fat) and what she was told that she would look good on her Wedding day by the consultant, I agreed for her to go through with the appointment she had already booked.

Now my wife is a God loving truthful woman and I believe her every word, so when she was told she would feel and look good for her big day I was obviously happy for her. The wedding by the way is 3 weeks after the procedure, which is next weekend. She's laying next to me asleep after telling me she sees no difference in her body appearance. Her stomach is hard, not firm as in a good body tone, but hard as in a plank of wood, she's in constant pain and clearly upset that she was sucked in by a 'sales pitch' not a medical consultation.

I still don't know how much the complete procedure has cost us, our first payment is due in September, but I can assure anyone reading this, if I personally don't see any difference in my wife's appearance I will be seeking legal advice about compensation for misleading information about the results that she was told she would expect to see within the time period prior to her wedding day.

Venus Freeze

By Alejandra Torres, San Antonio, TX, Verified Reviewer

After realizing that a chin surgery I got done gave my horrible results, I searched for a solution to improve the appearance of my chin. Sono Bello in San Antonio, TX offered me sessions called Venus Freeze ensuring me that it will fix my problem.

After the second session of Venus Freeze, I realized that the treatments were not going to solve my problem since I spoke to a surgeon who said the only way my chin can be corrected was from getting another surgery done. I spoke to Sono Bello about this matter so that I can discontinue with the session however they did not allow me to cancel my remaining sessions. Sono Bello insisted that I had to continue all my sessions as per the contract.

I had no choice but to go to every session and continued to see no results. The staff at Sono Bello knew that it was not working for me and did not care. My chin now looks worse than it did before going in. It is upsetting that there are places like these that claim to give results when all they do is steal people’s money.

No Sono Bello

By Kevin, Schaumburg, IL, Verified Reviewer

This is a brief account of my Sono Bello experience at the Schaumburg, Illinois location. My initial consultation was with a "Patient Care Consultant" who is not medically trained or part of the procedure. The Consultant is basically a Sono Bello sales person who handles the scheduling for your procedure.

After a high pressure sales technique I was persuaded to pay $6800 for upper/lower abs and love handles (flanks) which I paid in full before leaving the office. I was then pressured into scheduling a pre-surgery consultation 4 days later and the actual surgery 3 days after that without been given a chance to process the information received.

The "PCC" then instructed me NOT to go online and look up any information pertaining to Sono Bello to avoid getting discouraged and changing my mind. After reading MULITPLE NEGATIVE reviews from all the Sonobello locations which seemed to be endless, I decided to give Sonobello the benefit of the doubt against my better judgement.

I met with the doctor that was going to do my procedure during the scheduled pre-surgery consultation and immediately felt uncomfortable. The doctor stood by the door and was clearly rushing me through the process to get me out the door and appeared disinterested in my concerns. I was given paperwork to read and told to ask any questions but when I did I was made to feel like I was being a bother.

I had a very uneasy feeling and after receiving the paperwork I left. I went home and began to research the doctor and could not find 1 positive review. I felt like I was reading reviews on procedures performed by Dr. Frankenstein. I called the "PCC" and explained the situation and stated there was NO WAY I would allow this doctor to do a procedure on me.

The "PCC" said she would reschedule me with another doctor because Sonobello did not give refunds. Reluctantly I went along with the process and was scheduled for another consult with a different doctor. The experience went better but everything still seemed rushed. After reading the financial agreement it states that if you cancel 5 days before your procedure you are not entitled to a refund which is why I believe everything is rushed from the beginning so you immediately fall into that category and give Sonobello a reason to fight you for a refund.

The "PCC" insisted on immediately scheduling a surgery with the second doctor to "save my spot" telling me we could reschedule if needed. I informed the “PCC” I would need time to check with work and make arrangements to have the required recovery time since my job is physically demanding and was told it wouldn’t be a problem. After a few days I contacted the "PCC" and stated the date they assigned me did not work for me and provided a date that would give me time to make the proper arrangements. The "PCC" then verified the date which was approximately 2 months away and stated there was an opening and everything was ready to go. The “PCC” also told me I would need another pre-consult that would be done about a week before the procedure.

During that same conversation the "PCC" told me that the doctor that I met with initially was no longer working there due to lots of complaints which made me wonder why they would have given him to me in the first place. Two months have passed and the day of the consult comes which is 1 week before the scheduled procedure. While sitting in the waiting area, I'm listening to 2 patients that are there for follow up appointments complain about their procedures, follow-up care and their doctors. These 2 ladies are even lifting up their shirts showing how bad their experience was, their individual results and 1 of them was complaining about the doctor that was going to perform my procedure. I was then taken to a room and a short time later the doctor came in.

During the pre-op consult I was told I gained weight since the last time I was there where and the nurse and doctor seemed to make a joke about that which made me very uncomfortable. While in the room with the doctor and nurse, someone from the front desk came into the room and informed me that she was sorry but the date I was going to have my surgery has been cancelled. The doctor then responded "this isn't my problem that's something you people need to work out" then left the room. The doctor was very cold and made me feel unimportant which made me question how I would be dealt with after the procedure.

I was NEVER contacted about the change in schedule and was told I would have to wait 7 days for the doctor to become available. I was then escorted out of the room where my consultation was conducted and brought to front desk (on the employee side) where I feel I was ambushed by the staff. I was surrounded by 5-6 employees and told to sign paperwork if I wanted the next available appointment with the doctor 7 days later than originally scheduled.

I asked to speak with the “PCC” but was told she was in a consultation and couldn’t see me. To avoid making a scene, I signed the paperwork for the date pushed upon me by the staff and left. While in the parking lot, I attempted to reach the “PCC” by phone but was only connected to her voice mail. I left a message explaining what had happened and that the new date pushed upon me would not give me enough time to recover and asked for a return call. I waited a week without a return call so I emailed the “PCC” as well as left another message on her email.

Eventually the “PCC’ called me and I explained the situation as well as all the negative feelings. I explained that I could no longer ignore the obvious unprofessional treatment and truly felt my wellbeing would be an issue having anything procedures performed on me. I asked for a refund and explained how Sonobello failed to honor the contract when they cancelled on me and was told that I still was not entitled to a refund, I can either lose the money or have the procedure performed. I have spoken with the “PCC” and was then directed to the office manager requesting a refund and was denied by both. I was told that “corporate” denied my request but were willing to waive any rescheduling fees.

I then asked to speak to the mysterious “corporate” personnel that denied my request but was told “we cannot give out that information.” The reviews I have read are almost a blueprint of what the Sono Bello experience provides, and I refuse to let Sonobello perform any procedures on me. I am not a masochist and don’t want to be the person who is laying in a hospital bed wishing I did not get the procedure done and just gave up on recovering my money.

I will be seeking Legal representation to recover my money as well as lost wages from taking time off work to have the procedure done that Sonobello failed to do as well as any court costs associated with this.

Lipo body sculpting

By Jodi Vessio, Sylmar, CA, Verified Reviewer

Would not recommend Sono Bello to anyone, in fact, people need to start a class action law suit against these people. A friend of mine had this procedure done, was given false info from the people giving the consultation. As for the procedure itself, it has left her bed ridden and excruciating pain. And was told it would take up to three months to recover. She can't see any difference, and has spent her savings on this. These people are only after your money not your welfare. And my friend's self-esteem is low. She put her trust and faith in these people, not to mention all her savings, to be in constant pain and little, if that, results.

Lots of money for little results.

By Rebecca, Tacoma, WA, Verified Reviewer

I paid almost 10k for lipo to chin, lower abdomen, arms, and waist. Abdominal looks lumpy - it's weird. Arms and chin - no real change at all! Waist area has an indentation. Horrible and it makes me very sad. It was a lot of money.

Body Contour - not so non invasive!

By Ellyn, Beverly Hills, CA, Verified Reviewer

I went to the Beverly Hills Office to reduce fat pockets after being bed-ridden from an auto accident and Lonnie tried to oversell Liposuction triple procedure. Then I decided to try the body Venus like contouring magnetic polarity treatments. I should have been clued in by the Dr's arrogant mannerism in my consultation, practically in the nude, after being painfully inflicted by 2 not so experienced practitioners, and asking for a refund, as I wrote a refund addendum note in my purchase (payment up front of $5000$, contract). They are very uncooperative and reroute my calls to a Manager named Stephanie who won't return calls, and they won't even provide a simple email contact. I recommend they are investigated by the Medical Board for malpractice.

Horrible!

By Lyndsee Casper, Utah, Verified Reviewer

I got Sono Bello almost one year ago. I had my stomach, back, love handles, inner thighs and the back of my arms done. The staff was amazing and helpful, however, the actual procedure did NOT work!

I paid $14,000 for this to be done, and I'm a year out and have NO results. I did everything I was supposed to. I wore the garment, spent the extra money for the second set of the garment to wear for the longer time, I rolled and rubbed my stomach, and I ate healthily and exercised when I was allowed to. I have no results, and infact I have a lump on my stomach and scars all over that look like moles.

I want my money back, and they won't let me. I'm going in and hoping to have them agree to help me in some way, even if I have to have the surgeries again. But I will NOT pay more money!

Unfair consumer practices regarding refunds!

By Darlene R Morton, Verified Reviewer

Beware! Do not leave any money with Sono Bello!

I put a $1,000 deposit down on lipo laser. I then requested a refund a few days later and was told that there will be no refunds under any circumstance for canceling a procedure that was never scheduled, and I never had a pre-op appointment. AND I needed a medical clearance from my neurologist!

Why are they getting away with this? I suggest everyone on here that has experienced this to file a complaint with the FTC (www.ftc.gov).

No results

By Lamika Patterson, Cleveland, Ohio, Verified Reviewer

I paid over $6,000.00 and I ate vegan foods, fasted, and worked out at two different gyms. I lost weight, yet there were still no results from my liposuction since they hid a few things from me, like my chart, and they didn't take out as much fat as I was promised, or even their standard amount. And still, I wasn't told but I figured it out for myself (asking to see my chart once) and I noticed nothing was changing.

I have to now dispute the charge and may even sue. If you want liposuction, go to a real hospital with real doctors. This was a bad idea and was just about getting my money. Everyone is nice when you're spending money.

Thieves

By Yvette Frank, Verified Reviewer

I paid then 5k to reduce three zones. The "before" and "after" pictures are a joke; there is no difference. They say they will repeat the procedure if you're unhappy, but that's a lie. They refused to do it over. The doctor and the nurse at the sink said: "that should not have hurt that bad." Apparently, they did something wrong.

They don't know what they are doing. Read the reviews on the internet before you give them your money.
