Scam

By Jacqueline Middleton, Florida, Verified Reviewer

I spent $3,400, and it did absolutely nothing. Don’t waste your money on it. I wish I would never have had it done. I have had issues with my stomach ever since. It does not work. Money I could have spent going to a health clinic to help me lose. I can’t believe how much of a scam this is.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Is the down payment worth fighting for?

By Denita, Dallas, TX, Verified Reviewer

A couple weeks ago I had my first meeting at Sono Bello. I was excited about the process and looked forward to speaking with a doctor. I met a sales agent. She was pleasant enough but nonrefundable a good salesperson. In the end I agreed to pay the down payment and sign the non refundable agreement. They got me (never make such a decision without meeting with a doctor and giving it some thought).

I later had a routine medical appointment with an unrelated physician. My findings came back with abnormal. Being what I thought was the picture of health, I was terrified. I was informed to get further testing. The last thing on my mind now was alternative surgery. The night before my physician consultation, I couldn't sleep. I paid +$1,200 down and thought it was nonrefundable. I thought about how the trauma could affect me or the meds. Was it worth my health just to smooth out some problem areas?

Later I received a reminder call that I had my appointment coming up the next day, and later that night I received another call saying that there was a cancelation and I could come in an have the surgery at the time of my consultation. I told the person no. I had decided not to go through with it but I wanted to meet with the doctor and let him know what was going on and my thoughts. Maybe I would just postpone or just take the money loss.

I met the doctor and nurse, and they were pleasant enough. He even reviewed my medical findings the other doctor had given me. He and the nurse assured me I would be ok and sometimes findings come back irregular, and they understood if I wanted to postpone to a later date until I felt better.

As I was checking out the receptionist inquired about the rescheduling. I told her earlier about my medical findings and that I was scared but since I could not get a refund, I would reschedule later, if the findings improved. She said medical reasoning might have an exception, she was pleasant but still encouraged me to reschedule later, and they would hold the payment.

After thinking about it for a moment, with the financial burden lifted, I thought about my health and said to cancel. In summary, I would take the refund due to medical. I thanked her and the staff and departed. I felt good about my experience until about 10 minutes later when I received a call from the receptionist. The nurse said I could not get a refund because the appointment was less than five days away. Keep in mind all of this, including the new medical findings, just occurred within the past two weeks.

Bothered by this I contacted associates that had undergone similar procedures in Florida. I was told that a medical workup should have been done before the surgery. Scheduling me for surgery without the basics eval, labs, etc., was dangerous. This made sense. I was initially assessed by a salesperson, though all appeared good, no type of agency would not assure the customer is healthy. Why would a nonrefundable fee be initiated before consultation with a doctor? Why would someone call me the evening before to offer me surgical rescheduling for the next day?

Again, all of this occurred within 2 weeks and largely during the holidays. It was not communicated to me clearly that if I had a medical issue, I needed to cancel within 5 days. I feel conflicted and had. Tonight I just read Sono Bello reviews, and they are frightening. Since I could not get a refund, I have postponed until I complete further medical testing. This is not sitting well with me. It is likely I will take the loss out of concern for my health and fear of what others have reported. I do believe I should be refunded due to medical concerns. What are your thoughts?

Sono Bello in WA are crooks and thieves! Be aware!

By Social Justice, Bellevue, WA, Verified Reviewer

My experience was nothing but a nightmare. I regret the day when I met sales person Bethany Mikkola inquiring about treatment for one area that was my only concern at the time (now after botched job done by Dr. Scott C. Sattler at Sono Bello in Bellevue I have three areas of concern).

Bethany Mikkola convinced me to pay for three areas instead, promising it would result in a more aesthetically pleasant appearance. But I had to book the procedure right away for the next day without even getting evaluated by a doctor or having my questions answered by that doctor.

People, be aware! If you are told the same thing, keep in mind, they want you to book a surgery because it's not refundable if you change your mind 15 minutes later. They will offer you discounts and useless complimentary Vaser treatments. I was told the only thing I would regret was that I haven't done it earlier.

Here is what happened. I paid over $5,000 (with applied discount for booking procedure the same day) for three areas to get liposuction on. Dr. Sattler didn't find it necessary to treat three areas, he did only two because according to his words he didn't feel comfortable to do liposuction on the area of my primary and essential concern at all. He tried to hide it, though, for almost nine months after the procedure until the fact that that the area I kept complaining about wasn't treated at all (slipped out of another doctor's, Dr. Sobrino, mouth).

I am tired of begging those people to correct their mistake. They do not stand behind their assurance policy. Contacting practice manager Shannon Scott and director of operation Stephanie Vizmanos did not help, but it was just a waste of more time. Those people are thieves and crooks. Be aware! Read reviews on them online, read complaints on BBB, you will have the picture of what kind of place Sono Bello is. I hate myself for not trusting reviews on them and not going someplace else instead. Just see their before and after pictures and keep in mind that those pictures are the best results surgeons at Sono Bello ever achieved, and you can consider yourself to be lucky if you don't look worse after surgery than you were before.

In a nutshell: I ended up with uneven, lumpy legs with a bulge right in the middle of my thigh on one of my legs, and being charged for liposuction on the area that the doctor didn't perform liposuction on at all. I am a real person and I can be contacted at socialjusticewarrior77[at]yahoo.com if you want to share your experience or have questions for me. I would like to share all the details of my battle with Sono Bello.

Botched laser lipo and banana roll

By Cyntha, Phoenix, AZ, Verified Reviewer

Horrible results, a botched job. False advertisement. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I ended up looking worse after lipo on my thighs and banana roll. It’s been approximately two years and still results looks horrible. I went from wearing shorts and dresses to wearing pants and long shorts to hide the ugliness of my thighs from the procedure. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

When I tried to cancel the procedure after their own surgeon said he couldn’t give me the results I wanted and recommended against me having the lipo, Sono Bello would not refund me, so I had to have the procedure or lose my money completely.

Misleading Information

By Patricia Catalla, San Antonio, TX, Verified Reviewer

It has been 7 months when I had my upper arm, bra line, lower and upper abs done.

Let's start with the initial consultation. The PCC who saw me said, among others, that If I will have my upper arms done, it will transform from saggy to firm and that there will be a tiny incision and pointed to the front upper side of my arm.

She further explained a bit that the impression left is that it will be a dual result, liposuction which will remove the fats and sculpting, which will make the skin look firm.

She then proceeded on using her calculator, offered a reduced "Promo" price and that for me to be able to avail of that price, I have to pay it upfront. I told here that I will think about it and will decide/pay in the next 2 days.

A very close friend was with me during the initial consultation and heard all about the discussion.

After we left Sono Bello, I received more than 4 calls from different Sonobello Staff reminding me about the payment. I told them that my initial discussion with the PCC that we agreed I will be paying in 2 days time.

Again, I was bombarded by 2 more calls prior to my payment date.

The surgery went well, I guess. My upper arms, upper and lower abs done first then after a week my back bra line.

I was scheduled to come back for several post-op follow-ups which were mostly Sono Bello taking pictures of the different areas.

Last month, during my 6th month after having the surgery, I requested if my doctor can be present so that I can ask him questions.

First, my upper arm still looks big to me and that my concern is that I have now a more prominent saggy skin. The doctor short of commented, “Of course you are 51 so you have to expect that”.

I was then offered by the nurse to go for a non-surgical procedure which she said has no guarantees whether it will firm up my arms and I was asking to pay for the reduced package price upfront to lock up the discounted offer.

I thought that having the laser lipo will have the result of a firm lipo sculpted arm.

Sad that I did not get to read these reviews and that fellow patients are considering legal action. Please update me.

Warning

By Peggie Jarvis, Michigan, Verified Reviewer

I had a very expensive procedure done at the Troy, Michigan location. Honesty won't get people's money, so I suppose so that's why they lie. Lipo is only for skinny people with a few problem areas. It only works if you are at the weight you prefer as possible and then go see a doctor without the middle man (Sono Bello). This was definitely a mistake on my part. So since I can't get my money back. I can at least warn others.

No permanent results

By Pam Cloud, Houston, TX, Verified Reviewer

I went in for facial rejuvenation and was afraid, but excited. Now post surgery, I’m so, so disappointed as the results were only temporary. I went in on October 3, 2017, and it is now January 2, 2018, one day until three months, and my face is showing the same lines and sagging around jowls as before. I spent a lot of money and did not get results.

I would NOT RECOMMEND this place. I wish I had checked the reviews prior, but I was excited and couldn’t wait to get my new face and results. I am so, so disappointed and cry every day! I only felt good for two months, and then it was gone and back to the sagging.

Lipo body sculpting

By Jodi Vessio, Sylmar, CA, Verified Reviewer

Would not recommend Sono Bello to anyone, in fact, people need to start a class action law suit against these people. A friend of mine had this procedure done, was given false info from the people giving the consultation. As for the procedure itself, it has left her bed ridden and excruciating pain. And was told it would take up to three months to recover. She can't see any difference, and has spent her savings on this. These people are only after your money not your welfare. And my friend's self-esteem is low. She put her trust and faith in these people, not to mention all her savings, to be in constant pain and little, if that, results.

Disappointed

By Andrea Jones, St. Louis, MO, Verified Reviewer

One year ago I had a two-area abdomen liposuction, and I am very dissatisfied. I'm currently experiencing abdominal edema with some pain. My abdomen looks the exact same as it did one year ago. Since the surgery, I've been very depressed and isolated from the public, the total opposite of how I anticipated my life after lipo. The procedure was very expensive, and the result was not worth it. I'm reminded daily of the mistake I made with having lipo by the incision site.

11 months after laser lipo

By Sara Pereyra, Queens, NY, Verified Reviewer

I had laser lipo at Sono Bello at the beginning of July 2016. I noticed a quick change in my waist, however, my stomach did not go down. I visited the clinic in Long Island and was always seen by a nurse. I mentioned my concerns after six months of surgery and all she said was that a doctor will see me in the next consultation. I was so disappointed to have gone through this process and show no results. I am now 11 months post op and my belly is bigger and somewhat distorted by the knots after surgery. I recommend that if you want a flat stomach, get a tummy tuck instead.

Do your homework first

By Deb, Indiana, Verified Reviewer

Very unsatisfied. Please do your homework more thoroughly than I did. For the money I spent and the pain I went through, the results were not worth it. Plus, the one area I was most concerned never changed, and the consultant was uninformed and only cared about the sale. I couldn't afford to add another body section to my revision, so I sit with double the pain and half the results. Make sure to talk to a doctor before you pay and sign ANYTHING. Don't be naïve like me.
