Not unhappy with product but turned off by lack of customer service

By June W., Clearwater, FL, Verified Reviewer

My grudge is not with the product (well - not that I know of yet, only a blood test with hopefully positive results will determine that).

I have emailed a question (about three weeks ago now) regarding one ingredient in the Nutra Thrive Cat Powder and have YET to receive a response.

Ironically my question was posed in the email as a response to, "Let us hear from you." Not overly impressed with the treatment from this institution (I guess they really don't care to hear from you or nobody is reading and monitoring the emails incoming).

Of course, I will still get a blood test done on my cat to see how her organs are doing with the influx of this supplement powder.

The product itself, thus far, has caused some positive behavior changes in my little four-legged fuzzy fur, for she is no longer scratching her ears as though she has mites (and I had her checked, she doesn't). She no longer scratches her neckline frequently as though she is infested with fleas.

So my speculation is her allergies have tapered off by this supplement. I am not even giving her the entire little recommended daily cup that's in the product container. Rather she is only getting the amount fitting on the tip of a knife. At any rate, I would still like my answer reference my concern with the ingredient Cholecalciferol - i.e., what is a toxic amount? And how is the amount of "toxic" calculated (i.e., ml per lbs?)?

Definition below:

Cholecalciferol is one of the most potent mouse and rat poisons on the market. When ingested in toxic amounts, cholecalciferol, or activated vitamin D3, can cause life-threatening elevations in blood calcium and left untreated can result in kidney failure.

Side Effects Cholecalciferol

Lethargy.

Inappetance.

Vomiting.

Diarrhea.

Weakness.

Increased thirst and urination.

Kidney failure.

Signs to look out for with vitamin D poisoning include:

Not eating or decreased appetite.

Excessive or decreased thirst and urination.

Weakness or lethargy.

Dehydration.

Bad breath.

Vomiting.

Diarrhea.

Weight loss.

Company Response from Ultimate Pet Nutrition

Mar 20, 2019

Hi June, I'm Shayne from Ultimate Pet Nutrition. I wanted to formally apologize that your question went unanswered! We do our best to make sure that all customers are responded to, so I am so sorry that you went through this experience. I'd first like to mention that I'm thrilled to hear that are you are already experiencing positive improvement in your cat's behavior since starting the product. Regarding your question of Cholecalciferol...There is 75 IU of Vitamin D in the Cholecalciferol in Nutra Thrive for Cats. According to The Association of American Feed Control Officials, the Adult Maintenance Minimum is 280 IU, so we are very far below a toxic amount. Vitamin D is an essential nutrient for cats, which is why we included it in our formula. We absolutely never make a product that was unsafe or harmful. Please e-mail me directly at Shayne@ultimatepetnutrition.com if you have any other questions at all!

PERFECT

By Ashley M., Washington, Verified Reviewer

My petpal was very tired, lazy, and had little to no energy. When I decided to try Nutra Thrive vitamins, I was amazed, in little as 5 days my furry family member was more energetic, bouncy, and energetic again. Like he's a puppy again. I like the fact these vitamins are safe, effective, and natural. I showed them to my vet and she approved. I'm happy my dad saw this website. Thank you Nutra Thrive vitamins. Now our boy is happier and healthier. I like that they accept PayPal and it's a safe and secure site. That Nutra Thrive sends awesome pet facts for a healthier puppy or cat. The vitamins are safe, that is our main concern. Thank you Nutra Thrive. Also, the PRICE IS RIGHT. That helps a lot. Thank you, will be buying again...

Love this product!

By Julie L., Butler, PA, Verified Reviewer

My lab mix Bo was constantly scratching, licking, and biting on himself. Losing hair on his back legs, around his tail, you could see through to his skin, which was red and sore. Sores on his paws from biting. I couldn’t afford to keep taking him to the vet. Testing and medicines were so expense. We tried changing foods. This went on for months. Nothing was helping. He was miserable. He would go off by himself a lot to bite and lick himself. Plus it was driving us nuts.

I read about this product. I figured why not try Nutra Thrive. It worked! All of that is over. His coat looks great, it’s very shiny. All the hair grew back in. All the sores healed up. He is 4 and is acting like a puppy again with his energy. He no longer goes off by himself to bite himself. This product is wonderful. I will keep getting it. I did have to change how I gave it to him. He would not eat it on his food. Twice a day I give him peanut butter bread with the powder rolled up in that. I’m very excited about this product!

Happy

By Joan L., British Columbia, Canada, Verified Reviewer

I am so happy this product is available to animal owners. Not through a visit to the vet, which costs time and money to take a day off work. My dogs showed signs of improvement in just two days of adding Nutra Thrive to their food. Just knowing I am giving my dogs the best product is comforting.

17-year-old dog loves Nutra Thrive

By Charles V., Connecticut, Verified Reviewer

Our Sadie is 17+ and she's been on the raw food diet for her whole life, but in the past few years has needed some meds for bladder control and joint issues. Lately, she slowed down a bit and became somewhat finicky about her food, separating the pills from her food morsels and leaving them on her plate. From the first day that we sprinkled the allotted portion over her morsels, however, she has been eagerly snarfing every one and licking the plate clean. She seems to be getting around a bit more briskly too. Regularly she goes on two or three walks a day, each a half mile or so.

Thrilled

By Rhonda S., Sacramento, CA, Verified Reviewer

I was thrilled with how fast this product worked for my fur babies. I have a Morkie that was not acting like herself and had very bad breath. I am so happy that she is now acting like her old self and her breath is so much better. In fact, my other two fur babies are thriving and their breath is also much better.

Not long enough

By Cathy K., Arizona, Verified Reviewer

I don't think my boxer Mack has been on it quite long enough. Some days his stools are good and other days his stools can be like cow patties and his stomach is making all kinds of crazy sounds. This is my fault, I was not giving it to him consistently because I was unsure if I could afford it on a regular basis. I am feeding him Taste of the Wild dog food. Maybe that is the problem. I just need to be more consistent with putting it on his food. I really think the product sounds like a good thing.

This stuff is great!

By Christen H., Capitola, CA, Verified Reviewer

My last dog died of cancer. I am not having this happen to my new guy. I home cook his food so I know he is consuming only high-quality ingredients...but I worry about his having enough nutrients to fill his needs. I was looking for a supplement that would ensure he has top nutrition. His poop was soft before giving him this product, now it is firm and well-formed. He is a strong little Border Collie mix...full of life and energy. I want to keep him that way...I found an ad for Thrive on the internet and clicked on it. BINGO. This fits our needs completely. Thank you.

GREAT PRODUCT

By Deborah H., Phoenix, AZ, Verified Reviewer

This is a great product. I have two little dogs and my mini doxie who is 12 years old, started to slow down in her age, and when I heard about this product I thought I'll give it a try. I started giving it to her and I cannot believe how much more energy she has by running around as well as playing with our other dog who is a chihuahua mix. I've noticed on our chihuahua mix his coat is not as dry and he also has more energy. I give them both one scoop in the morning with their food, which has a bacon smell to it and they both inhale this! I'm going to place my second order. This is a must for anyone who has dogs and wants them more healthy.

Our Marley

By Gloria T., Valparaiso, IN, Verified Reviewer

Recently I ordered Nutra Thrive for our dog Marley. You see, Marley is at least 18 years old. He is a Poodle mix. He is almost blind and has arthritis in his hind legs. Since Marley has been on Nutra Thrive, he has had days when he runs around here like he did ten years ago. I am so glad I heard about your product.

My dogs have their spunk back

By Amy K., Holiday, FL, Verified Reviewer

I have two senior dogs and their age was starting to show. I was looking to improve their quality of life. I found Nutra Thrive and tried it. They RUN to their food bowls. They are playing more, and want to keep going further on their walks. One has allergies is seems to be doing much better. I just wish I had found this earlier!
