My do loves it

By Gwen P., Eagan, MN, Verified Reviewer

My golden who is usually a picky eater loves this food. From day one, she now comes running and prances around impatiently until I get it prepared for her. Since she is a big dog and requires more food than a smaller dog, it does get expensive. I have to give her less and top it off with her kibble. I wish I could afford to give her 100% Dr. Marty’s!

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Great, but spendy

By Charles B., Cheney, WA, Verified Reviewer

My German Shepard is allergic to chicken, corn, and all forms of wheat so I took a chance that he would tolerate the turkey in Dr. Marty's pet food and so far he's doing well. Both of my dogs absolutely love this food and eat every bit and lick the bowl when they are done. My German Shepard has even lost weight, but his nervousness has not calmed as I'd hoped it would. I am mixing both dogs food with a no-grain, salmon-based dry kibble to economize, but the price of Dr. Marty's pet food is nearly prohibitive for my budget. I bought nearly $400 worth on my first order to take advantage of his initial-order pricing and without a similar price break on a second order, I'm going to have to look elsewhere. My butcher offers a ground beef and pork scraps that are at least 50% raw meat that is considerably less expensive, but introduces a storage problem that Dr. Marty's freeze-dried pet food does not have. My pet store has sales on limited ingredient canned food occasionally, but otherwise, that too is overly expensive. It's a conundrum.

Yummy stuff

By Fred F., Southport, NC, Verified Reviewer

Our young golden retriever was so excited when she would smell her food hydrating.

We are adding just a small portion as the food is quite expensive by itself.

Bella absolutely loves it.

Promises kept

By Catharine B., Hawaii, Verified Reviewer

All the things that Dr. Marty said came true. I have 3 dogs and all of them are doing fantastic on their new diet. Cinamon, the chihuahua, was always picky. Now she comes running when it's time to eat. She sheds less and is much softer. Kim Chee, my silky terrier, has always had skin problems. I have tried many different things to help her. For the first time her skin is clear! No bumps or sores. Her hair is very silky and smooth. Katie is our newest addition. She is a mixed breed and looks like a min black lab. She too can't wait to eat and her coat is so smooth and shiny. Everybody notices when I take the three of them for a walk. I love it and more importantly, they love it!

Winning menu!

By Pam D., Lafayette, LA, Verified Reviewer

I have a tiny toy poodle, Icee. She is our "baby girl" and worth the best of food. Immediately she took to what I have begun to call the "golden nuggets" as they are small and of a yellow color. I use to give her bites of meat when I ate as she wanted to eat with me. Very easily with no fuss at all I have replaced my bad habit and begun to use golden nuggets as the New treat. She LOVES them.

As suggested I tried mixing them with her regular dry pellet foods but she pulls them out and SORTS the food to get the golden nuggets. So to make the transition we play her favorite run game of fetching her dry pellets food so her system will get used to the transition. Icee says THANKS! She loves the Golden Nuggets!

Finicky eater, toy Poodle

By David N., Bakersfield, CA, Verified Reviewer

We've tried everything the markets and pet stores have to offer. Canned food, the best we can buy, and bagged dry food. Shushu would nibble at it if he was half-starved. We even tried the refrigerated stuff, he seemed to like it at first but showed his true colors after a few meals. Being skeptical about every ad I heard about how good a product was, I thought, out of desperation, I would try your freeze-dried raw food. Well, let me tell you, Dr. Marty, Shushu loves the raw food. I first mixed it with his regular can food to get him accustomed to the new food, as you suggested, when he finally came up for air the only thing left on his plate was the canned food. He's been on the raw diet about three weeks, he has more energy and is more playful with his friends. I assume his inside is doing as well as his outside. Dr. Marty, I'm very satisfied with raw food and so is Shushu.

I mix the food with a little extra water, he likes the gravy it makes.

Unbelievable!

By Susan P., Keller, TX, Verified Reviewer

Lucy, our 14-year-old Havanese, has been given a Prozac and a pain pill daily for a few years. Six weeks after starting Dr. Marty's dog food she no longer needs the pills. Her coat is now shiny and a better texture.

I had been preparing myself mentally in preparation for losing her-no more. We have found the fountain of youth!

He loves it!

By Cindy C., Oregon, Verified Reviewer

I did not think my dog would ever look forward to his meals like he did when we first give him Dr. Marty's food for dogs. My dog was jumping on the counter to be fed instead of sleeping on the sofa. It sounds like a line but he really loves the food. The treats are also good to get and work perfectly. Thank you.

I think overall it's good food

By Marlene F., California, Verified Reviewer

I had waited for her to eat it at first, then she did and seemed to be ok with it. Watched her to see if she was going straight to it or waiting for something better. She went straight to it the second day and is good with it. I started slow and mixed it with her other food (wet), then started adding in a little dry food and tapering off the wet stuff. She is still eating it and doing good. After a couple of weeks I noticed her playing, which she hasn't done in a while. I would love to get her more, but the price is so high and my husband was off work for our move then was injured during the move so has been off work for the last 3 weeks. Maybe in time, I can get her back on it.

So far so good

By Karl K., Winder, GA, Verified Reviewer

First off, I want to say my 13-year-old 20 lb Jack Russell/Chihuahua has bad allergies, irritable bowels, and onset of joint problems. I was extremely concerned with how the food would sit with her. You should always start new food by mixing it with the old stuff to acclimate it. Well, after mixing it with her current food for 2 weeks now I am seeing a remarkable difference in Haley. Her allergies are disappearing for the first time ever! She also has so much more energy she wants to play ball all day. I have studied human nutrition for 10 years now and discovered it was the only way to truly heal myself. Well, guess what...the same was true for my best friend.

Company Response from Dr. Marty Pets

Aug 21, 2019

Hello Karl. My name is Kat and I am with Dr. Marty Pets. I am happy to read your review of Nature’s Blend. I am sure it must be such a relief to see your dog bursting with energy. When it comes to switching from your dog's current food to Nature's Blend, we always advise to do this gradually. Otherwise, a sudden change could lead to digestive issues and an upset tummy for your pup. Be sure to keep an eye on how your dog is doing with the transition, as results may vary. Dr. Marty Pets works hard to provide optimal nutrition using human-grade ingredients. If you have any questions or comments, please do not hesitate to reach out to me at kat@drmartypets.com. I would love to hear from you. Thank you for taking the time to review Dr. Marty Pets. I wish you and your Jack Chi a wonderful day.

Rufus eats now

By Lee J., Long Beach, CA, Verified Reviewer

Rufus is a fourteen-year-old mix of Terrier and Australian Sheepdog. I adopted him from a local shelter when he was three years old. He has always been timid to eat his food. In fact, I have to stand by the bowl while he eats. I have to continue to praise him while he eats most of the time. However, ever since I've been mixing Dr. Marty's blend of dog food into his bowl he goes after his food without being coached and seems to love it because now he eats a small bowl in the morning and night!

The other benefit from this product is Rufus's coat seems to be softer and more heathy looking. I have been using it two months now and will continue to use it and of course tell others.
