Copper

By Janet Martin, Texas, Verified Reviewer

I love my pans. I just order the whole set the other day to replace all my other ones. I wouldn't ask for a better pan. It's great for bacon frying and everything. Plus I even have the power cooker and absolutely love it. I've bought my sister one.

I keep buying their stuff.

Sadly disappointed

By Rashid J Pinckney, Elmont, New York, Verified Reviewer

Hello, I am a father of two that enjoys cooking for my children. When I first saw the Copper Chef pan, I was very excited. It lived up to the bill for about three months, and now it is as bad as the other pans out there. Food sticks to the pan, there is smoke everywhere when you fry bacon, and it is a nightmare to clean. I was excited to see the expansion with the 12-inch pan and the deep frying pan. But now I am grateful that I did not make those purchases.

Not stick proof for even a year

By Gregory S Forbes, Pennsylvania, Verified Reviewer

When I first got the pan I was happy. I thought that it's great that it doesn't stick. As time went on about 6 months after I bought it, things started to stick just like every other pan. It says guaranteed for life and they told me I had to pay to send them back and send money for shipping for both of them.

I bought 3 and 2 of them are sticking. This product is not worth the money because they end up just like any other pan. This is a money rip off. Just another company ripping off America.

Love them!

By Sandi Zahradnik, Ely, Iowa, Verified Reviewer

I have used my two pans for a couple of months now. I love them. Food does not stick, nor is it burnt. I have an electric stove and start it on 6 and turn down to 5, and sometimes 4. I have not used them in the oven yet, only the stove top. I would be curious to know if those that had problems used in the oven or stove top?

Beware!

By Diane Peacher, Rosewood Heights, IL, Verified Reviewer

I purchased the square Copper Chef pan almost a year ago after seeing commercials of what was supposedly a wonderful pan.

The first time I used it on the stove as I was stirring, I realized it was very awkward stirring in a round circular motion into a square pan because the corners we're not getting stirred, so you have to stir in a square motion which is not natural. Aside from that, everything seemed to be fine at first. But it is not "non-stick" as they claim to be.

Food did not just slide out of the pan as the commercial shows. However, at first, it was fairly easy to clean up. But after using it as a fryer, grease residue has stuck to the top half of the pan and will not come out. I have tried everything. The only way I was able to remove a little bit of the fried on grease or baked-on grease was to use the side of a butter knife, which appeared to start scratching the surface of the pan, so I stopped. The outside of the pan looks like I've had it for many many many years and it is not an attractive pan at all.

I called customer service twice and spoke to two different representatives with heavy accents which were hard to understand, but they also really didn't care what I did with the pan. The first call the man said he would send me an email with information to send it back and they would replace it. However, that leaves me without a pan for almost three weeks, and the shipping cost is almost $15 to send it, and that is at my expense since they do not refund the shipping. It will cost me money to have the pen replaced.

So the commercial is not true when they say that they will replace it absolutely free. I will also be posting my reviews on other websites that will allow me to post the pictures so people can actually see what this pan looks like after minimal use. I gave my review two stars, but after talking to customer service, I should have reduced it to a one-star.

Terrible waste of money!

By Doug Hay, Upland, CA, Verified Reviewer

I seasoned the pans as directed, but within a couple of weeks, everything started sticking. I contacted customer support, and the bottom line is, they said you have to season the pan after every use. My "cheap" old non-stick pans work better and with a lot less cleaning effort. Don't waste your money on Copper Chef products. I am sorry I did.

False advertising

By Paul R. Haynes, Perry, Michigan, Verified Reviewer

I recently received two round Copper Chef pans as a gift. I seasoned the pans as directed; oiled the pans and then baked in the oven at 300 degrees for 10 minutes. When I went to fry eggs in them the eggs stuck in both pans (?).

I went to the online chat service and was informed that you can't use eggs right out of the fridge and have to use medium-low heat! The next morning room temperature eggs preheated in the pan on med-low heat; eggs were a mess. I went back to the chat service and told him all of that, and he said to use a little oil or butter! What the heck? Does non-stick mean you have to lube up the pan?

My opinion is stay with cast iron, that way you can beat the hell out of anyone you want and you won't dent the pan. Copper Chef pans are a piece of crap.

Very, very happy

By Rick Irvin, Gray Court, South Carolina, Verified Reviewer

I bought ours several months ago. I was a skeptic at first, but after reading instructions and warnings on what not to do, my wife and I love our Copper Chef Pan.

It tells you not to use EVVO, to which I think a lot have done and won't admit to it.

I'd say since my purchase we have used the pan least five if not six days out of the week. Our anodized pans sit in the cabinets. In all honesty, I can't understand because my pan is the same as everyone else's. So why am I having great results, when other are not? Misuse? Or I really think it's using the olive oil. There is no need to use it to begin with!

Just do as the instructions tell you and you'll be a happy Copper Chef owner and frequent user. I'm looking at purchasing their latest new pans out and retiring my anodized pans, and having lots and lots more cabinet space.

Not 100% guarantee.

By Evelyn Coronel, Aurora, CO, Verified Reviewer

My 9-inch deep pan is scratched on the bottom. They told me it happened because of cooking with high heat. I cook on a glass top stove. They say it is a 100% guarantee. They also say you can use temperature of 850 degrees, and I cook on medium heat. My other Copper Chef pans are not doing that. It makes no sense. Please help me.

12" round skillet sticks and doesn't come clean without scrubbing

By Davida Davies, Temecula, CA, Verified Reviewer

I purchased the 9 and 1/2" deep square pan from QVC. I fell in love with it. I even deep-fried food in it with no problems. My one complaint is that the grease that gets cooked on the outside is impossible to remove, but so far the interior has not been affected.

I liked my pan so much that I purchased the larger deep square pan, along with the induction burner. I have had no problems with the pan.

In December, Sam's Club ran a Copper Chef special that included the large deep square pan and the 12" round skillet. I purchased it. The skillet became my "go to" cooking vessel.

Then I stir-fried fresh mushrooms without oil and noticed that a crust formed on the skillet. When I attempted to clean/wash it, I had to use a non-abrasive scrubber (Scrub Daddy) to remove the crust. From that point on, the skillet has been sticking. The only thing that does not stick is liquid or food with liquid, such as sauces and soups. It also scratches easily, and I use wooden and other non-metal utensils.

I believe the warranty is 60 days, so time has passed for a refund or exchange.

Even though I have not had a problem with the two deep pans, there is obviously a problem with the interior becoming non-stick, based on certain foods or cooking methods. The company needs to address this. I would not recommend this product to anyone and will warn those I know who have purchased it.

I am going back to my All-Clad.

Worst customer service ever

By Monica Buono, Michigan, Verified Reviewer

The customer service is horrible, and they don't care if you're happy with your product or not. I ordered my Copper Chef XL with induction cooktop on February 23rd. Upon inspection, I noticed that the pan was dented in three spots, so I returned the pan on March 4th for an exchange. I called them several times to find out where the replacement was and I was told to call back, so I did.

As of April 7th, I still don't have the replacement pan. I can't comment on if it works because I wasn't able to use it. I'm tired of waiting, so now I'm sending everything back. I will never order from them again.
