If I could give zero stars I would!

By Sienna Shaw, New York, NY, Verified Reviewer

First of all, they represented a pair of pants as cotton, and they were that slimy polyester. Also, they don't offer returns, only store credit! And this is after they withhold for a RESTOCKING FEE! With all the ease of shopping on commerce out there, I recommend shopping elsewhere!

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

A lesson

By Yen Luong, Vietnam, Verified Reviewer

They did reply to emails very fast, but seemingly they did nothing to solve the problem.

At the time I clicked "Confirm Order," the amount of money to pay for that order was charged immediately from my bank account. The customer service explained that it was not a real charge; it was just pending payment status. When the order was canceled before their shipment, that pending payment would have fallen off of authorization after 3-5 days. If you also encounter this case, no need to be frustrated. If you use a credit card, after 3-5 days, you will see your money back to your account. However, if you use a debit card, it will take 30 days.

Unfortunately, I used a debit card, so I had a frustrating shopping experience at Zulily. Anyway, after 30 days waiting and worrying, my money was back to my bank account.

Not good quality or sizing

By Bernette L Wynn, Durango, CO, Verified Reviewer

Asian sizing means nearly everything I ordered was smaller than the sizing chart on the website. A $45 denim jumper sized Medium (chest size 35") actually measure just under 32" and crushed my fairly small breasts.

A return was accepted with shipping and restocking fee deducted from my "store credit." So I have to order from them again? A flared white tank top is so translucent and thin, I'll probably end up donating it. A 3/4 peasant top fits and isn't see through, but I had to remove buttons and sleeve tabs because they were so shoddily sewn on in white thread on a dark garment. The bottom hem looks like it was sewn by an 8-year-old (which indeed it may have been).

I wish I could have attached a photo of the crooked contrast stitching which I may rip out and redo in a color that actually matches the shirt. Most items are made in China. I will use my store credit but won't be shopping from them again.

Poor quality and damaged products

By Joann Patella, Doylestown, PA, Verified Reviewer

I have ordered a few items from them and was disappointed on every item. It takes forever to receive and every single thing has arrived damaged or misrepresented. The company gives you the run around about excepting returns and blames vendors for issues.

Don't shop here

By Dmisc, Los Angeles, CA, Verified Reviewer

(1) Total violation of privacy. Zulily messaged me on Facebook, even though I did not use Facebook to sign up into their account, and I did not use the same login email for their account as I do for Facebook. They had to go out of their way to get my information. It is totally unacceptable that they should use an email address not actually given to them, or to contact customers via social media uninvited.

(2) I had my package sent to the address I was going to be at based on their stated shipment timeframe. Then I got an email saying that it was coming significantly sooner. Great. Except I was not going to be at that address when it arrived.

First, I called UPS directly to see if they could redirect my package. I was told that since it wasn’t exactly a UPS package, but rather a UPS Mail Innovations package that was going to be handed off to the post office, I had to call the shipper Zulily themselves.

I did. The lady who picked up punted to the post office. I asked if she could call them for me and redirect the package since they are the shippers. She claimed she couldn’t look up the phone number because non-work-approved websites can’t load on her computer.

First of all, does anyone else believe that this lady does not have her own smartphone from which to look this up if she really wanted to be helpful?

Secondly, I don’t know if I believe that she didn’t have access to the United States Post Office website, especially since every transaction they do with a customer involves some sort of shipment, and I’m betting many, if not all, involve the post office. How else are they supposed to keep on top of shipments themselves without a way to communicate with the post office from work?

I looked it up for her. She kept on waffling. She said she would try to call, and either way, she would update me.

I have had no updates. Do their phones also not work, then?

Another representative told me that they don’t have the authority to redirect packages. I do not believe this at all, you are the one who sent it, after all. And you have the tracking number, which is the only information you yourself give the customer, who would then be able to redirect packages. I suspect that what happened is, if she bothered to call the post office at all, she was told what I was by the postal office, that I had to pay $12 and get an additional priority mail label, so she didn’t redirect my package.

I can understand if the issue were my fault, but I chose my address solidly based on their own shipment timeframe. This wasn’t a difference of days, but weeks.

Based on such poor customer service (by which, I don’t mean an inability to handle an issue, but rather, the entire attitude was that it wasn’t something she wanted to handle at all) I don’t really see the point of doing business with this company, especially since this may result in the loss of package.

Clothing doesn't stay in good shape for long. If it seems too good to be true...

By Alicia Michael, Maryville, TN, Verified Reviewer

Clothing can be expensive and reasonable. You have to be careful. If it says to handwash; be sure to follow directions. I got some nice things and not so nice things. Be sure to check the charts!

Missmarked shirt

By Jane Wanke, Spring Branch, Texas, Verified Reviewer

I ordered a 1X shirt, and the shirt that was sent to me was not a 1X. It was so small that it was probably a size Small. I requested a return authorization and was told that with the return fees (plus I must pay for the return postage), I would only get $2.00 in store credit.

I decided to give the shirt to a friend instead of returning it for such a small reimbursement. I will not shop at Zulily again and intend to tell my friends of their ridiculous return policy on a misrepresented item.

Price markups

By Steph, Orange County, CA , Verified Reviewer

Do your research before committing to a purchase. Most items are marked as being discounted off a higher price than other sites. You are not getting a good deal like you think. Now this doesn't apply to everything, and there are some good deals, but I would still do a quick search for the product to see what other stores and prices there are. I've posted examples on their Facebook page of the price differences for some child items. As much as $10 more, and shipping costs to boot. Not worth it.

False advertising

By Nik, Dallas, TX, Verified Reviewer

I bought a couple of framed posters that are supposed to be 72x48, but what I received were 23x15. I talked to a couple of rude reps, and they refused to do anything about it. I asked to talk to a manager, but they claimed there are none available. I am trying to return the items, and now they want to charge me for return shipping and restocking fees.

No sense of customer service, no integrity. Total rip off. Stay away.

Cheap quality, poor shipping and store credit?

By MambGyrl, Minnesota, Verified Reviewer

Each article was the cheapest quality material and looked nothing like on the website. I go to return, and it is a store credit. I don't want their cheap clothes (then Kmart), and I'd be embarrassed to own this store.

Poor quality and cheap looking

By Diane, Ohio, Verified Reviewer

I purchased from Zulily two times. Both experiences were the same.

The leggings were so sheer you could see my skin and underwear clearly, and the pattern in the leggings was so mismatched that the backside looked like a completely different pattern. Even with a tunic the fit and look were bad. They used a polyester fabric used more for dresses. Thre was absolutely no spandex to cuddle your legs. They were so cheap, terrible and uncomfortable I wouldn't even wear them to bed. They are in the trash.

The tunic I purchased is a below-the-knee dress, and I am 5'6". Of the eight items I have purchased only two will I wear, and that is only because I spent so much money. Horrible, horrible quality. Never again!
