Not good

By Sharon Lang, Alberta, Canada, Verified Reviewer

I got caught up in the hype as well. It is not nearly as good as they say. I have half the pan that does not stick and half the pan that really sticks. It does not make sense since even if I use lots of butter or not, it makes no difference.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

This pan is junk!

By Delilah Pujol, Castlegar, British Columbia, Canada, Verified Reviewer

I purchased this Ggotham Steel Pan after seeing the amazing commercial for its nonstick abilities, and it can go into a hot oven and won't scratch! At first, I cooked eggs without oil, and they slid out of the pan but had a funny plastic texture on the bottom. Then I tried meat without oil in the oven, and the meat stuck and left marks on the inside of the pan. So now I always use oil in the pan before I add anything or the food sticks so bad and it is so hard to clean.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Lies

By Some dude, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, Verified Reviewer

"Never sticks, never scratches!" That's what they said over and over again. Guess what? It sticks and scratches. It lasted about half a year. Waste of money. Cast iron is still the best.

Gotham Steel Pan

By Emm Bee, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, Verified Reviewer

I am truly disappointed with the pan. There is a lot of hype about it doing all kinds of nonstick stuff, but in spite of using a little oil/fat and mainly using it for eggs only, the eggs stick to the pan terribly ruining the omelet/egg completely. I am very, very disappointed with the product. And I have purchased two pans!

Waste of money

By Jeannie Pina, Shelton, CT, Verified Reviewer

OMG, I was so excited to buy my new Gotham Steel Pan, and as soon as it arrived, I wanted to cook something in it.

Well, let me tell you. The next morning I made breakfast for the family, and I started to make eggs over easy. Nothing easy about it. The eggs stuck to the pan and did not slide out as advertised. I never cook on high and always make my over-easy eggs on low, as my family loves them made this way. I was better off cooking my breakfast on the flat-top stove burner.

I will never, ever buy another Gotham Pan again. I DO NOT recommend this product to anyone!

Junk

By Gary Lazarini, Destin, FL, Verified Reviewer

Absolute junk. Everything sticks. This should be against the law to sell such junk. Worst piece of cookware I have ever used. I think butter would stick to the pan. I would not recommend this product to my worst enemy.

Pan sticks/hard to clean

By Tanyse, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, Verified Reviewer

I loved the pan at first, but now food sticks and I can't clean it properly because it is very hard to clean! I have only had it for six months. Very disappointed. I bought the muffin tin and the crisper tray as well and hope they are better than the fry pan!

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Not what I expected

By L. Gasparini, Des Plaines, IL, Verified Reviewer

I bought a 9-inch and went home very happy. I used it a few times for eggs only, and it worked perfectly. However, once I sautéed meat (did not use any oil, the only fat was the one occurring naturally on a lean meat), the magic was gone. I tried to make an omelet next time, and it became a scrambled eggs and it was completely stuck to the pan. And yes, I followed all the instructions. If you want to make only eggs, it will work. Anything else, I would think twice.

I wanted to return it but no longer had the receipt. To return it to manufacturing under warranty I had to pay shipping and handling, which would cost me more than half of what I paid for the pan. So, now I have a normal fryer that needs Pam or oil, like many others I have in the house. Very disappointed!

Works great

By Morton Fleishman, Puna Gorda, FL, Verified Reviewer

I've seen the negative reviews and am writing this review only because I disagree so strongly with them. I've been using a Gotham fry pan for several weeks now, and it has performed just as advertised. I have fried eggs, and there has never even been a hint of sticking. I usually use a little butter just for the taste, but it is unnecessary from a sticking viewpoint. You really don't even need a spatula because the pan is very slippery. It cleans very easily with no signs of scratching. A pleasure to cook with and I haven't needed to use my other, very good, cookware.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Bad product

By Rachel Gibson, Belleville, Ontario, Canada, Verified Reviewer

I purchased the large frying pan. From day one food has stuck, and there are marks on the bottom of the pan and the copper coating has started to come off around the sides. Very disappointed. Would not recommend.

pan is certainly not non stick

By Gary Fleming, Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, Verified Reviewer

Everything I have tried in the pan sticks like crazy. I like to fry bacon and sausages and both stick and leave a burnt mark in the pan that I have to scrub out with a scouring pad every time. I have tried putting oil in first and lower the heat, but there is no difference. I would not buy it again.
