Deeply disappointed

By Esther Grigoryants, Oklahoma, OK, Verified Reviewer

I bought the round Copper Chef Pan from Walmart after seeing the ad on TV. I was delighted to cook with little or no oil. I read all the instructions carefully, bought a plastic spatula, which I used when I cooked on this pan. I used the pan for two months and was very happy with it. Nothing burnt, the food cooked evenly, and the pan was very easy to clean.

Two weeks ago, I tried to fry eggs, and they stuck firmly to the pan. The fried eggs quickly turned into scrambled eggs! Since then, EVERYTHING sticks to the pan. I thought I had done something wrong, but no, I followed the instructions to the letter. I now avoid using this pan because I get anxious about all the food sticking to the pan. I now use my old pan which isn't even non-stick, and as long as I use oil, nothing sticks. Very disappointing pan!

I love my Copper Chef XL pan

By Nancy Sweetman, Virginia, Verified Reviewer

I just don't understand what everyone is complaining about. I didn't get the induction cooktop, I only ordered the Square XL pan. I ended up ordering two more once I used mine! I bought one for our RV and one for my eldest son's family. We all love our Copper Chef pots. We did nothing special except wash and dry them when we took them out of the box and then cook with them. I have never had problem with anything burning, sticking, scratching or any other problems I've read above! We use our pan all the time and have decided to give our Calphalon pots and pans to Goodwill and replace them with additional Copper Chef fry pans and pots. They cook well, and they clean up easier than anything I have ever owned! No complaints whatsoever.

I'm only writing this review because happy customers rarely review anything. I figured fair is fair so I needed to even the numbers some and tell the truth about how much our entire family loves Copper Chef!

A $50 extra cost for custom duties when shipping to Canada!

By Angela, Ontario, Canada, Verified Reviewer

Hello, I ordered the saucepan and the mats ($39.99 USD with the $10 shipping surcharge for Canada). The saucepan came, and I had to pay an addition $24.91 for customs duties. The mats came the day after and again I had to pay an addition $25.16 for customs duties. The website didn't mention that I would have to pay duties and having to pay it twice because they shipped the items separately further increased the cost.

Beware if you are a Canadian buyer that $39.00 USD does not include the $50 in customs duties that you will have to pay upon arrival.

Incomplete Order, horrible customer service

By Peggy Liker, Illinois, Verified Reviewer

In a nutshell, after 7 weeks and numerous phone calls (to customer service operators as well as supervisors), I still don't have my complete order. I've been told four times that the order will be sent, and I will receive it in 7-10 business days, with 3 different tracking numbers.

To date, I've received an add-on griddle with tempered glass press that was added “just for the cost of shipping” for $9.99, and two grills. I am still without the Copper Chef XL 11" pan with a steam rack, fry basket, glass lid, $100 in coupons, or the Instruction and Recipe books for each grill, and the other griddle we requested.

I have also emailed corporate with no response, and called corporate (I hung up after being on hold for 46 minutes, and pressing the number 2 to continue to hold, 20 times). Do I think there is also deceptive advertising? Yes. But I may never know for sure. By the way, the full amount I owed was on my credit card immediately. I'm dealing with that through my credit card company. Good luck to you if you still decide to place an order.

Not True Junk

By Fred W. Geren, Troy, MO, Verified Reviewer

Does not work like the ad says and everything sticks. If had it to do over, I would have saved my money. Being retired that purchased this hurt. You think at my age I would have learned that if it's too good to be true, well need I say more?

Save your money.

Lousy warranty, lousy pan

By Don Parker, Tampa, Florida, Verified Reviewer

No chipping or peeling? Ha! That's a lie plain and simple. As the months have worn on (less than six months, maybe used twice a week if that), the pan has tiny scratches all the way to the metal in multiple areas that now causes food to stick. Using a Scotch-Brite pad now to clean it has caused the surface to be rough all over and has completely lost its nonstick qualities.

The product was advertised on TV as a "Lifetime" warranty. This so-called warranty requires proof of purchase as well as a check for $14.99 and you pay for shipping it back to the company as well. UPS shipping charges are $10. The damned pan was only $20. Rip off! Stick to a properly seasoned cast iron pan.

Great pan

By Ruth A McLoone, Florida, Verified Reviewer

I got the XLarge pan for Christmas, and the 9.5-inch square frying pan in January. I use them all the time for at least four or five times a week. Nothing sticks to them if you follow all the directions, like don't use extra virgin olive oil.

I would never buy from Copper Chef again!

By Robert Heffington, Maryland, Verified Reviewer

I bought the Copper Chef XL square pan and induction cooker. First it was sent to the wrong zip code (three weeks), and then when I received it after several calls (now six weeks) and when plugged in, the induction cooker blew up and almost burned my house down. I sent it back and asked for my money back, and it took almost three weeks to get my money back. They have the worst Customer Service Department to deal with, or which I have ever, EVER had to deal with.

Horrible

By Chris Rossiter, Pennsylvania, Verified Reviewer

Do not believe the commercials; the eggs do not slide right out of the pan. These are the worst pains I've ever used, and everything sticks to them no matter what you cook. I will give them this; they are easy to clean out, but that's it.

Not worth the price!

By Jack Forkosh, South Carolina, Verified Reviewer

I originally purchased this as a wedding gift for my best friend as he loved using my portable model. The shipping information was extremely slow, and they offered me a discount on my purchase.

I had to buy a different gift for my friend as this one didn't arrive before his wedding.

I now had two induction cookers. I did give the portable one that I had to my friend and kept the new one when it arrived. The XL with the square pan, lid, steamer rack, and basket is what I have now.

I attempted to boil 2.5 quarts of water for pasta, and at 500 degrees it took over 15 minutes to get a boil, not a rolling boil, just a boil. I could have done better on my stove top. I called customer service and was told that it wasn't defective, but that is the time it takes. Not so with my previous one.

I am very dissatisfied with this product and was told because they sent me a discount, I couldn't return it.

They suck and I will never purchase another product from them again, no matter how good of a deal it seems. There are many other induction products, which you should look at instead of this inferior product.

Very dissatisfied and annoyed.

Awful

By Ashleah Ortega, Loveland, CO, Verified Reviewer

I have the square pan, small round pan and the one that looks like the top of a grill. All three pans are terrible! The grill pan didn't really work from the get-go, and the other two worked great for about the first three times they were used. After that, you can't cook anything on them. I tried warming pre-cooked chicken on one of them tonight, and it's almost like the entire purpose of them is to suck food onto them and never let go. My pans (that I got from Walmart and Ross) work 100% better than these expensive pieces of crap! I agree with the other reviews; there should be a lawsuit against this company!
