Don't do it

By Jozef De Bruin, Netherlands, Verified Reviewer

This is how Wish works: you order an item, and next, you pay.

Then the app will hang, and nothing happens. The item in the cart has status "not paid." Because the order is not processed, you can't access the helpdesk. When you write they actually answer, but in the end, they will say that the bank canceled the transaction, and they can't help you. Of course, the transaction is real, and now you have lost your money.

If this happened to you, please report the online scam.

Cheating

By Anatoly Demch, Richmond, British Columbia, Canada, Verified Reviewer

Hello Wish,

Finally, I got my order on July 14, 2017. Six months later. The package was sent in December 2016.

When I opened the package, it was very, very smelly. My dog started barking, my cats ran away, and my wife yelled "chemical attack." Unbelievable! The smell of the shoes was too terrible and strong!

I am an old man and don’t need that stress. Now you understand why I sent you a lot of letters to return my money. I don’t need these shoes with a garbage smell. I plan to send them to your office in the US.

I think that the company that sold this product has to be notified. It is not Wish's standard, and it only disgraces Wish.

Please return my money in a timely fashion.

Professor A.Demch.

Latest app is junk

By Anne O'nimus, Chesapeake, VA, Verified Reviewer

I was a "Wishaholic." I ordered so many cheap things. Then around the time of Mother's Day or Memorial Day (I do remember it was a holiday of some sort), they started adding free items.

I sign in with Google. For a while, it worked. Everything on the Wish app worked. But it started blocking me out. After several attempts, I set up another account; this time, by direct user name and password. But it didn't have my shopping history, so I retried with Google. I kept getting a "(403)" message. I discovered Google didn't have "allow less secure sites" checked, so I checked it, and all was fine again. Then when I updated the last app, it would crash every time I tried to view my cart. EVERY time. So I uninstalled and reinstalled the app. Then it wouldn't let me sign in with Google. I rechecked my preferences, and everything was fine with Google. But I still couldn't get in. So I signed in with the second account I created, but I still couldn't access the cart without crashing. I'm not sure if it's an issue with older devices or older iOS versions. But I wish I hadn't updated.

Another annoyance with this is they won't accept PayPal payments. I don't trust them. I already got a warning from Google (the first time I had sign in problems), saying someone in DC tried accessing it through Google. I'm very leery about signing in directly to Wish without a "buffer" (or possible false security login) like Google.

Rarely have I been disappointed with the purchases. There were a few items that arrived broken or ill advertised (wrong color, size, or missing piece), and one item never arrived at all. But that item was gladly reimbursed. But for the most part, I've been very satisfied; hence the disappointment. But maybe it's for the best. I ordered too many "free with $3 shipping and handling" items that really add up. It's like a cyber thrift store without the moldy smell, flattened fungus ridden shoes and slightly stained underwater hanging in the back. And what I really want from Wish now is still sitting in my inaccessible cart. I tried going back to Amazon, but everything seems so expensive with them now. I'm not going back to thrift stores.

My order was short

By Lucinda, South Africa, Verified Reviewer

I think these guys are crooking so many people that are supporting. I ordered two items, and they only dispatched one. Why, why, why? And I paid for both already. I am so disappointed I can kill.

Clothing

By Tracy Blake, West Virginia, Verified Reviewer

This site is a joke for buying clothes. I got my first order today and received three out of the five things I ordered, and none of them fit are where way-way too small. I ordered five different things for my kids, and none of it will fit any of them; these were all different sizes! I am not happy and will not order again.

Refusing refund for lost merchandise

By Scott Aukerman, McDonough, GA, Verified Reviewer

I had been using Wish for some time and was happy with the items I was buying. Shipping was very slow. Items were taking from trhree weeks to upwards of four months.

Then I run into an issue where the merchandise never shows up. You track using their system and see the item(s) never left China.

You reply to Wish on this issue and you get a reply "please wait 5 days," so you please wait five days until they get you out past 30 days (when they delete all records). Now with no record of the sale, you're back to the "please give your order 5 days."

From December 10, 2016, to July 8, 2017, a lot of time has gone by.

Be careful. Stay on top of your orders, remember their sizes are in "cm", "mm", an "L". So you will need to convert.

The prices are great, but don't get screwed like I did. They just need to think about the customer more.

I bought about seven items

By Elaine Davila, Utah, Verified Reviewer

I was happy with the items I received. It does take a while to receive your items, and they all come from a different company. I got a cute watch, workout bottoms, earrings, bracelet, etc. It was also fun since the items come at different times to receive surprises when the items come.

Never arrived

By Kelly Wolfsheimer, Midlothian, Virginia, Verified Reviewer

I ordered an item from Wish.com. Of course, the lure is the inexpensive prices. Supposedly they track their items, but it was coming from overseas. I never received the item. When you complain to their customer service, you get "canned" pre-typed answers. So bottom line? You get what you pay for, which is nothing. Just throw your money down the toilet instead.

Dissatisfied

By Colleen Brady, Los Angeles, CA, Verified Reviewer

It is next to impossible to get a hold of anyone to make a return. Some of the items are ok, but others are not. Simply put, you are stuck with them. They do not get back timely so there is no way I can figure how to return an item to China where most of the stuff comes from. Save your time and energy because you don't always get what you wish for.

It used to be great, but not any longer

By Beverly Duchene, Las Vegas, NV, Verified Reviewer

I discovered Wish.com just a year ago, and I went crazy ordering. The first three months I spent $900. And I hadn't slowed down too much until recently. I was very satisfied at first because they really did want to make the customer happy. If I said something didn't arrive, they wanted a picture of what I didn't get, but they'd give me a refund right away including the shipping. And I'd get a message telling me that they wanted me to be happy and they didn't want me to be inconvenienced by having to send the item back to China, or for me to be out any more money. So I should just keep the item and do with it whatever I wanted.

I bought one pair of shoes I loved, name inside the shoe was Lemai, so I ordered quite a few more pairs not realizing there was another company, Akexiya, that sold shoes that looked just the same. But the A-company shoes were made smaller, so I couldn't even get them on. In the beginning, they didn't say what company you were ordering from. All the size charts were the same, so I wouldn't have known to order a larger size.

Over the months I got other things I was unhappy with for one reason or another. Women's clothes are extremely small. But they were always quick to give me a refund. Maybe two months ago they started to offer things for free, you just pay shipping, which was no real deal because they just upped the shipping price. Then I found I had to click on a link to find out the shipping charge and it clued me into the fact that I could return anything within 30 days. So if the item was free, there was no refund, so why bother to return it?

And it doesn't matter if the item if defective, or I guess broken, or item just doesn't work, they do not care one bit about the customer any longer. I say this because I bought a Samsung battery for my cell phone the beginning of June and it only worked for two days, and it wouldn't take a charge any longer. So I told them I wanted a refund and they said I had to send it back at my expense, and they would not refund the shipping I paid to have it sent to me either.

And one other thing they used to have was an "order history page" so one could look up to see when something would be delivered, or for whatever reason. It's still in with their info about their site, but there are no such things now. When I typed in "order history," they just showed me a bunch of stuff, nothing I'd even looked at. Well, I went into the other room to get an order number, and I clicked Wish on my phone and low and behold, they made a liar out of me because there was a history page. Although it didn't go back very far.

I had several things I had not received yet, so I was happy to see that page. Then I tried to take a picture of something they asked if I'd received and then I couldn't find the history page again. I kept clicking back and forth, and finally it came up, and I was able to ask for refunds which I couldn't have done without the history page. Again I tried the history page and couldn't get it at first, but finally, I was able to get the order number for the Samsung battery. The second number was for a dog necklace. I didn't have a problem with that item but just wanted to give you another order number.

Do not buy any software from Wish

By Fred Yawnick, Florida, Verified Reviewer

I bought AutoCAD 16 and Corel Draw. Both CDs I received were illegal copies with back door instructions to load. I am still waiting for a refund.

Wish is a crock of crap, DO NOT use!
