In the instructions it tells you that if you get a scale build up in the sole steam outlet to remove the cover plate and unscrew the inner plate held in by three screws.
I was amazed to find one of the screws was rusty and cannot be removed, how stupid to use screws that rust in a STEAM iron also when ironing small particles of rusty stain comes out over my clothes, not very nice of my white shirts.
Apart from that, I think it is a great iron, but when this wears out or whatever, I will not buy another unless they can remove and replace the offending screw.
Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend
I have been offered, if I drill out the offending screw and then I would have to retap the thread they would supply me with a new screw, how ridiculous, it should not have been in there in the first place. I know the guarantee has expired but there was no way of knowing that inferior materials have been used. At the least I expected to send it back and let them repair it, after all, they made the darn thing.
