I highly recommend that all consumers stay clear of this business along with any products advertised. I rarely make online purchases without conducting a minimum amount of research. Going to blogs are for the most part, not relevant research tools, especially when connected to those with a vested interest. Locating independent blogs that incorporate a platform for authentic evaluations along with consumer protection in its core can be a challenge.
Like many others, I made the error of purchasing the Spark Whitening product for my wife. The process was quite simple; having completed an order form at their site that stated, just pay $1.03 plus $3.87 S & P. This order was for their 10 day trial period; however just 5 days later my account was billed for $94.31.
Immediately, I called to inquire about the additional charge prior to the 10 day trail period. It was my flawed thinking that one should at least receive the product first before any trail period was to began. Furthermore, it was my lack of insight relating to this business model that led me to believe that bringing this matter to their attention would render an amicable resolution.
After informing them that I was not in receipt of their product and no longer wanted to complete the purchase, I was instructed to return the product upon receipt and fax a confirmation of the returned item. I did receive the sample as well as an email confirming the cancellation of any additional orders that same day.
It has been 2 weeks since this ordeal began and today I decided to call Spark Whitening to check the status of the refund. I already know what most of you are guessing; but no, the refund was not in the mail. I am just as surprised as you are (sic). After explaining to a customer service rep that the order was cancelled, and never delivered and thus I was not required to fax anything to them. The rep informed me that I was being held liable for this infraction of not following instructions and forfeited all but $14 of the amount tendered. After a moment of silence, which was to try to understand their logic I informed the rep that this matter would certainly be reported to BBB as well as the fraud department at my bank. Please do not do business with this company. If you insist on purchasing this product, then do so from a reputable entity.
Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend
