I have three Perfect Cookers. How I ended up with three is unimportant, but rest assured, I'm not parting with any of them.
I use my cooker daily, either for breakfast oatmeal or later in the day for brown rice, which combined with some form of legumes, is a staple for me. It has always worked flawlessly, but then I'm not trying to cook gourmet entrees with it, just wholesome food.
One nice feature is the ability to cook then carry, which on occasion I will do, taking rice to my girlfriend's house to eat with shrimp or fish since she does not care for rice.
I think this is a great product when used sensibly and I highly recommend it as a purchase worth the price.
In case your wondering, I'm a 78-year-old white male receiving no compensation or anything else from anyone involved with the sale or production of the Perfect Cooker. I couldn't even say right now who made it without looking at it!
Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
