    Hulu

If you like paying for commercials

    Overall Experience:

I was in love with Hulu Plus when I first got it. There were SO many shows that I wanted to watch, it was great! Then they all started disappearing, and less and less episodes were online long enough to actually watch them, and I found myself waiting for the end of the season, when the entire season would be available on Netflix.

The selection of programs and movies is huge, which is great, but the commercials, or should I say the one commercial, is annoying. A 25 minute episode will have nice minutes of the same commercial looping over and over throughout the show, and not in any sort of convenient spot, but mid word, or in the middle of some really deep dialog or something. Then, by the time the show is back on, you have no idea what happened. On a personal level, I was interested in too many shows to actually keep up with them, before they would time out. Episodes are only kept online for 4-6 weeks, and if you're employed, most likely, you'll miss a few episodes.

As far as recommending this, I'm torn. It's a really great service, if you just cannot wait for the whole season on Netflix or DVD, or if you miss an episode on live TV, however, as a stand alone service, it won't do. I understand that in order to keep the price of the subscription low, there must be sponsored commercials, but it seems like they have increased the number of commercials per episode.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

    Instant Checkmate

    I'll stick to Google Search

    Overall Experience:

I signed up for the one week trial for $1, then I tried canceling, which was simple enough, until the phone calls started. The person on the other end was trying to convince me that that I needed this service in my life, so that I know about any sexual predators in my neighborhood. I needed this service because of many reasons, however, everything that they provided was information I could have found out by a simple Google search.

The only good thing about this service, I found, is that it compiles it all into a list, saving you from having to search the internet yourself. I know they were trying to sell me a service, but calling me every day for a week, after I canceled my account, was taking it a bit to the extreme, especially after telling me that there were sexual predators in my neighborhood that could attack me.

Thanks, sir, but I'm more concerned with why this is their scare tactic to boost sales, than I am about some guy who I'll probably never meet.

    Netflix

    A Great Service

    Overall Experience:

This is a great service, although some have said that they would like a larger selection of recent releases, but seriously, no. There are so many options on Netflix right now that if you can't wait a few weeks for something to be released, you're not living your life right. I love that I can binge watch an entire 12 seasons of Friends, or watch cheesy horror movies until I am so scared I need to call my mother.

The fact that I have to wait until an entire season is complete to watch it is well worth the wait, when I consider that I will have zero commercials, high definition, on demand, anytime I want to. Yes, I have wished this or that was available, but then I just find something else, and life goes on.

I love being able to search by categories, or movies, similar to something I liked. The multiple devices feature is ok, because sometimes I want to watch in a different room, or on my tablet, and I have to log off of a device. But there are options for upgrading the number of devices logged in, and the feature to have multiple profiles is great, because that means that my sister can watch her stupid nonsense, and it doesn't suggest My Little Pony to me.

Oh, and the fact that I am locked in to my price from years ago is a great feature.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
