I purchased a box at Costco after sampling these bars on two occasions. I typically do not have time to place a review in this format but felt strongly that the RXBAR deserved a proper review. I am always looking for a great snack that is both healthy and tasty. So define healthy, as some reviewers have said the bar is not like eating a wonderfully made, home cooked cookie. Yes, there are bars out there are taste more like a nice candy bar. When you read the long list of contents, it explains why they may taste so good. That is exactly what I strive to stay away from.
These bars have less than seven contents and are totally natural from some reviews I have seen, as well as those listed on the label.
Possibly some people also do not always truly desire a healthy option and should not bother looking at healthy substitutes. I suppose the point may be that if you are looking for a healthy alternative when out and about or just too busy, this is clearly the one. Just try not to place unrealistic expectations. I would add that the bars are a bit chewy as I have read on some reviews, but I notice what with water or coffee and eaten slowly, this is not an issue for me and those I know.
I have tried every bar that has few contents and is truly natural to some level. These bars combined with a cup of coffee hold me over until the next small meal. They actually are taste about like what the content says they are. Just a note: It is my understanding that artificial flavors are made from non-food sources while natural flavors come from foods or other edible things. However, it is my understanding they all end up being about the same and are considered safe.
I have found the balance of protein and totally natural carbs to be just about what works to maintain my needs until the next small meal as earlier mentioned.
Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
