Wish is no good

By Tanaka P., South Africa , Verified Reviewer

They trick you that your order was shipped, then later on if you don't receive your order, they say they will refund you, which they will never do.

I think the name says it - these are just "wishes" people. It will die a "wish," and you will never receive an order. If you receive an order, it will be exactly what you did not see in their photos.

Honestly, I'm heartbroken. This is a scam. Is there a way to get these people arrested?

Free giveaway

By Mark R., Washington, Verified Reviewer

Free giveaway advertises between 9 pm and 9:15 pm; it will open the free gifts and notify you in the app. I was on from 8:55 pm to 9:17 pm and was never notified, nor did it open free giveaway. This is the biggest BS, scam, and false advertising. I would highly recommend people stay away from the Wish.com app. It is a huge scam with nothing but cheap knock-off products that either don't work or quit working hours after you get it.

Poor quality, bait and switch

By Andrea B., Maine, Verified Reviewer

My wife has ordered over $400.00 worth of items. Not one of them has come on time. And when they do come, they're something totally different than what she has ordered. It's the old bait and switch game with Wish.com. They stamp their jewelry with 18k, but if you wear for an hour or two, it starts chipping apart and you can see that it's copper. It truly is junk!

They bill her credit card over and over, and we can't get the money back because they set their business up with no customer service at all. You can try emailing them, but it does no good at all. A total scam.

Also, they say they will refund you in 5-10 days but never put it back on your card! But they will recharge you again for it. This site is a joke, and I don't get the joke. I wouldn't waste a cent on anything because it's either not it, broken or defective. Not one thing comes right then you wait a month and a half to find out you're screwed.

Watch ordered 60 days ago

By Brock C., Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, Verified Reviewer

I ordered a watch on April 5th and almost 60 days later have received nothing, including any acknowledgment of my complaint. I believe the website is a complete fraud. I have requested my credit card be refunded the purchase amount. Never, ever buy from Wish.com. The reviews are fraudulent.

They have performed for me, but have used shipping to gouge and increase their margins.

By James F., Alabama, Verified Reviewer

Shipping inflated to increase margins? There seems to be a disparity from what shipping costs. The higher the price, the greater the shipping cost, regardless of origin, weight, or destination.

Money that was taken out of my account, more than they had to take.

By Micaela M., South Africa, Verified Reviewer

Dear Wish,

Why is my total R405 (~$32) when I added up R282 (~$22.28)?

The heels are R153 (~$12.09), plus shipping is R64 (~$5.06) and the dress is R39 (~$3.08) plus shipping is R26 (~$2.05).

How do those prices add up to R405 (~$32)?

Please refund my R123 (~$9.72). You need to take the amount that you charge on your app.

If you can't refund my R123 (~$9.72), then refund all my money. How can you guys be this unfair?

And the items are shown at a certain price but when you order it shows a higher price. I double checked my prices and it added up to (~$22.28), I would like to know where the other R123 (~$9.72) went to?

I am utterly disgusted! A disappointed customer!

Bad customer service

By Beverly R., Tennessee, Verified Reviewer

I placed an order and I waited two months for it. And then I contacted them, and they said to wait at least another week, and I contacted them again because I still hadn't received it and I was told they that I couldn't get a refund because it had been shipped, but I never received it. I will never place another order with them again.

Gladiator sandals

By Donna H., Missouri, Verified Reviewer

I got my shoes, and on the first occasion I had planned to wear them, I unzipped them, put one on, and then as I unzipped the other, the zipper broke. Half the time I order, 75%-90% of the items I order are "out of stock." I get the two items off my third shopping cart order; my zipper breaks. I could have spent the money here on a better pair. I took off the Wish app. The same stuff is at Walmart, Walgreens, everything a dollar carries. And no shipping or three week wait.

Counterfeit products...

By Quang H., Canada, Verified Reviewer

I made the mistake of purchasing memory cards from Wish (against my better judgment). The cards were fake. I contacted Wish, and they were quick to refund me, just required photos of the items. I asked for a replacement, but they said that it would be better to take the refund and purchase it from the same (or another) store. I insisted on getting replacements, but they refused. I had stated that I would return the defective product, but they just said no need to send the items back. This is not the sort of thing you would expect from any reputable store.

Once I determined that the products were indeed fakes, I requested that I be able to change my review for the store I purchased it from (to prevent others from getting ripped off). After a few emails back and forth, with no success, it appears that you cannot change a review once you submit it (if there is, it's not easily found, and support will not tell you, at least not in the three attempts I made). What prompted me to write this review on Wish.com, instead of the store on Wish, is that a month or so later, I saw the same ad by the same "store" selling the fake cards. By allowing this scam artist to sell their products on Wish makes Wish responsible.

They put on a good face by "providing customer service" (I purposely did not say "good customer service") and hope everyone forgets that the store they purchased the item from is still operating and still offering the same fake products to everyone, hoping to get those customers who can't be bothered to fight it because the products were inexpensive.

Bottom line, stick to an honest and reputable online merchant, not Wish. They don't care, they'll sell anything and hope you don't notice. There may be some items on Wish that may be worth purchasing, but they're lost in the sea of counterfeits and shady stores.

Canada

By Alex F., Montreal, Quebec, Canada, Verified Reviewer

This is the worst site you can ever order from. Don’t ever order from here. It takes three months for things to come in, forget this site. I’m never ordering from this place again. It’s unbelievable.

Do not buy from Wish, even the name is a laugh

By Anne C., Lancashire, United Kingdom, Verified Reviewer

I joined Wish after Christmas. Everything was alright until I ordered and paid for a laptop. After a month's wait, it arrived, except it was a tablet. I am still trying to get a refund, but I don't hold out much hope. It's like trying to get blood from a stone. If I could get hold of one of the "customer support agent," I would wring their neck, and that's being polite. I am a 66-year-old disabled pensioner, and I think it's disgusting to be treated like I am.
