It is a "pretty pan," but that is the end of its redeeming qualities. I experiment, try new things and it is always an adventure, which means the outcome is not assured.
My experiment with buying a Gotham Steel fry pan off a television commercial was a bust. It started out very slippery, but within a very short time, the darn thing sticks to food, even with bacon fat in it. We have been very careful not to overheat the pan, but it just didn't matter. The non-stick quality of the pan degraded over a month of using the pan. Our son put a scratch in it, so it is not as tough as they purport. either.
I would not recommend this pan to anyone. It is a waste of resources. As with all experiments, I learned something; the Gotham pan sucks and beware of slick television commercials, so it was an instructive failure.
Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend
