    South Beach Diet

I did great but be aware

    Overall Experience:

I did well on this diet, many times using just the diet book but gained the weight back. This time I used the food off the site because I found it difficult to prepare all the food since I work full time.

My biggest complaint is that if you order, it is automatically refilled so unless you notice and change that to a one time deal, you get another huge box of frozen food, and they won't take it back, and it is expensive.

So needless to say, I was on this diet for two months, from May 10 to the middle of July, and lost 18-20 pounds, going from 143 to 123-125. I feel great, and I am back into size 8 from 10/12. But, you will be hungry most of the time. I limited myself to one in the morning and one as an evening snack, small.

I didn't like all the foods but am not that picky. So if you are a picky eater, it's not likely to work for you. I hated the chicken almondine and turkey meatloaf, but loved the chicken Roma and the muffins. My cravings for carbs/sugar are gone, it took a week or two but now I can say no to anything, and I am very careful not to start allowing small treats because it leads me to cravings then failure by previous experience.

I did not increase my exercise, and I normally do a 10-minute bike ride twice a day to get to work, and some light walking, so exercise was not needed to lose the weight. I allow myself favorite fruits now for dessert but plan to stay off any pasta, sweets, rice, potatoes, and breads, and although I am off the diet, I am still losing. I also learned to eat healthier, and in smaller portions.

I am 56 years old, 5 feet tall. My early adult weight was about 100-105, but I am happy at 125. If you can identify why you eat (mine is usually boredom), so staying busy helped, but if you eat for comfort it will likely be harder, but figuring out why you eat helps to avoid the overeating, and for me, sugar/carb addiction was a major player too. I am hoping the financial investment will also encourage me not to gain it all back.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
