Good service, professional contractors

By Alex W., California, Verified Reviewer

BuildZoom helped me locate multiple contractors for a job in San Diego, CA. They really took the time to understand my needs and connect with folks that had relevant experience. The bidding process was smooth, and I'm pleased with the contractor I ended up using.

Great resource

By Mrinal I., Menlo Park, CA, Verified Reviewer

I used BuildZoom to get referrals for general contractors to work on remodeling my house. In parallel, I also contacted contractors and architects on my own. BuildZoom's referrals were far better than the ones I contacted on my own. BuildZoom has a good reputation with contractors too and their advice through the process was invaluable. I strongly recommend leveraging their expertise.

Highly recommended

By Chris R., Tucson, AZ, Verified Reviewer

Casey was a pleasure to work with, very professional and responsive. I was able to get four more referrals in addition to the three I researched on my own, and I ended up choosing one of the BuildZoom referrals, as their material costs were the lowest, they were more responsive than the others, and they had the best portfolio/references that matched my new single-family residential project. I highly recommend BuildZoom, and Casey specifically, if you are contemplating a new build or a remodel.

Staten Island Bathroom Remodel

By Miriam R., Staten Island, NY, Verified Reviewer

I hired Egnatia Construction Company to do my bathroom remodel and my bathroom is so beautiful now. I am happy with results. Jimmy's team is very polite and considerate. They clean up after each day and that helped a lot with the dust. Jimmy will work hard to see your vision complete. I am an anxious person and he did as much as he could to calm my nerves. Thank you Jimmy to you and your team.

New Home Construction

By Mark S., Las Vegas, NV, Verified Reviewer

I spent two years trying to find a contractor to build a house. Most builders never even called me back. One builder gave me a bid but wasn't serious about the project because he didn't keep in touch.

I hired BuildZoom because they will find contractors and collect bids. They compare the bids to get the best contractor for the best price. BuildZoom was able to find a great contractor. They made several changes in the contractor's bid that helped close the deal. They even negotiated the final build cost down over $35,000!

Throughout the whole process, BuildZoom kept me informed and worked closely with me the entire project. They were always on time with what they promised and very knowledgeable about every aspect of the building process. You receive constant updates throughout.

After the first couple of times I talked with them, I had the confidence they would handle everything, and they did. It was an absolute pleasure working with BuildZoom and now I'm getting ready to build!

Ram 24 Construction kitchen countertop remodel

By Donna M., Albuquerque, NM, Verified Reviewer

Ram 24 Construction - I used this company for a remodel to my kitchen and was very pleased! I had waited many years to put granite in my kitchen because I was worried my backsplash, which is travertine, would be ruined while removing my current countertop. I was also having a hard time making a final decision on the color of granite. Ram 24 made the process so easy; they walked me through the process in helping me with the color choice, which I am thrilled with, and removed my old countertops and saved my backsplash! They have a very personal touch in a very professional manner, which was wonderful and so reassuring. I love my kitchen and was thrilled with the workmanship and speed at getting it done!

Very helpful

By Mary V., Shingletown, CA, Verified Reviewer

BuildZoom provided helpful information to find a contractor in my area. Good contractors are hard to find in my area as I live 27 miles from the nearest city. I was able to find a wonderful contractor for my area and he did not charge a travel fee for any trips to my location.

New construction

By Maria A., Inverness, FL, Verified Reviewer

I contracted with Walter Family Homes to have a new home built. When my construction loan expired after a year, only the land had been cleared, permits obtained, and a survey done. Consequently, I did not get the new home. Walter Family Homes did reimburse me the money not used.

Scam

By Winnie A., Brooklyn, NY, Verified Reviewer

Do not trust this company. They wrote to me in a private email to ask about my experience with my architect. Then they posted my words on their website with my name attached to it without my permission. They gave a star rating to my architect without me doing it, so they basically invented me as a user and invented my rating. I feel like they stole my identity to build content for their site and it’s ridiculous. You cannot trust anything on the site.

Not on customer side (scam)

By Roberto S., Florida, Verified Reviewer

The company that I hired through BuildZoom ended up being extremely incompetent. The company asked me to pull permits on my name because it was supposed to be faster this way. The contractor did everything in its power to be fired. All this guy wanted was to get the first chunk of money.

BuildZoom would not publish my review of the company. Try to call the customer service, and you won't get an answer.

Whatever you do don't hire The Pine River Company (Rick Munne) and don't use BuildZoom as your contractor search platform!

Awful company, most likely a scam

By Rick R., New Jersey, Verified Reviewer

I'm seeing this on both sides. One as a contractor who wasted his time chasing leads where homeowners were not even sure who BuildZoom was. More than 70% had already contracted someone else before I received the lead. Total waste of time. Clients I was able to speak to said that BuildZoom called them repeatedly when they had requested a contractor from another website. Not BuildZoom. They are extremely disorganized. I would receive texts with phone numbers to call them back, and it always went to an answering machine. I would not waste my time with this company.

Company Response from BuildZoom

They gave my info to the fraud/scam company!

By Shiva K., New Jersey, Verified Reviewer

They gave my information to a fraud company. I made a contract for the company that BuildZoom introduced to me and the company got my money and never showed up!

I contacted BuildZoom and they never responded to me. Don't trust this company!

BuildZoom enables construction scams by not researching contractors

By Letesa I., Northern, GA, Verified Reviewer

Although BuildZoom claims to research and verify the information on the contractors on their site, my contractor was a complete con man with a record. BuildZoom couldn't have done any background verification on him. Steer clear of BuildZoom and Tony Dwayne Woodall - A Plus Remodeling (Gainsville, GA).

Do your own research

By Rich B., San Jose, CA, Verified Reviewer

Customer service is non-existent. Emails, phone calls, and text messages go unanswered. They sent a contractor's name to me. I contacted the contractor they came over and I was waiting on a bid. Started doing my own research and found contractor had an expired license through the CSLB website. When I brought this to the attention of BuildZoom, they said the contractor had a license. Never heard from the contractor again. Another contractor had a 1-star review on Yelp. This is what you get with this service.

The other creepy thing is they can see when a contractor emails and calls you including the length of time you spent on the phone talking with them. I have asked to remove all my information from their site we will see how long that takes. I cannot see a way to close my account myself. I will keep trying.

Scam company. Stay far, far AWAY!

By Michael M., Florida, Verified Reviewer

This company is a complete scam. I never signed up with them or asked to be part of my program and now there are two complete bogus reviews and they do nothing about it. They say the exact same thing and neither have ever been clients. They want me to jump thru a ton of hoops to consider having them remove them. Screw them and stay as far away from this piece of crap company as you possibly can. Feel free to contact me anytime to discuss.

NEVER CALLED ME BACK!

By Russell C., Washington, Verified Reviewer

I contacted BuildZoom to start my search for companies to build our new home. Right away I received an email and a text message from Brooke asking me when a good time to call me back would be. I responded, that the next day at 2:00 pm would work great for me, and she sent me a text back re-confirming that day and time. As I waited for her call, two o'clock came and went, so at 2:10 I sent her a text asking if she was still planning on calling me. When 3:00 came around, I sent her a blistering text telling her that my time is very important to me, and to NEVER contact me in the future! If this is a professional company, then I want NOTHING to do with it!

A terrible unhelpful site.

By Robert T., Boca Raton, FL, Verified Reviewer

I contacted BuildZoom as a small business owner to have a false review removed, they wanted me to make a profile and I did, they didn't remove it. I asked again, sure they removed the false review, along with my other review. Now I show up as a 3-star company, I can't change anything, nor will they. And then they have the nerve to ask if I want to use them for referrals. If you can't simply remove an obviously false review meant to exploit your rating system without causing reputational damage to my company, why would I want to be involved with you?

Fraudulent reviews

By Steve C., Bellmawr, NJ, Verified Reviewer

Contractors beware of this company. They attach reviews to your profile that don't belong to your company. They did it to me twice. They claim to have verified the documentation but never submitted it to me. I showed them supporting documentation. They say I need to dispute it via their website but there is no tab to remove it. This causes libel and financial damages to possibly losing jobs. They claim the consumer has a right to submit a review even if it's not through their website. This is dangerous to any company. Furthermore, the leads they give are horrible and dead ends. They rather put an unfounded negative review against a company that is false and damaging then protect their own clients. This company took over for Renovation Experts who would never do this to its clients. BuildZoom are frauds and unprofessional and very unethical. Stay away.

Negative, annoying, dishonest, and unhelpful

By John L., California, Verified Reviewer

Last month I googled my company's name, instead of my website popping up like it has for the last ten years, the top of the search was dominated by the text of a fraudulent, negative generic one-star review of my company. This was a window for BuildZoom.

Negative, annoying, dishonest, and unhelpful. They are in total denial about the problems they have caused and are completely unwilling to help fix it.
