Happy with makeup. Hate all the auto ships. Please stop.

By Sylvia, Texas, Verified Reviewer

So sad because I like the makeup, once I got the color to match my skin, covers beautifully. I love it. I had to buy 2 foundations and mix, but it matched. They said they were not going to charge me but they did. So I was charged 2x for my first ever order. I made sure I canceled the auto ship right away.

Gave a this product a 4 star all because of the auto ship these companies force you into. I only want to buy something I run out of. I will run out of the foundation long before the concealer or powders. I don't want unused product to start piling up.

Not at all impressed with the mascara. All dried up and clumpy when I opened it.

I really wish these companies would wake up and sell the customer what they want.

True Price Is Hidden

By Jessica, Bakersfield, CA, Verified Reviewer

Let me get to my complaint. I've had a subscription to another Guthy Renker product where It was a monthly delivery. I canceled it a while ago due to changes in finances (husband got laid off). I saw the infomercial, watched reviews on YouTube. I ordered. I went with the special of $49. They lead you to believe that all of that costs only $49, so it appears like a steal. But that's not how much it actually costs. They ship you a kit every 3 months (unless you cancel) but charge you $49 every single month. Why? Because the kit doesn't really cost $49 silly, it costs $100+ (depending on how you customize your kit). For me, my kit cost a total of $128 and it is conveniently charged at an affordable rate, every month. I don't even get a new kit monthly, it's every 3 months. I can cancel anytime. Had I known I was going to spend over $100 on a single kit over the span of 2 months, I would not have purchased it. I felt very deceived. They do include a small disclaimer saying that they'll deliver the next kit in 12 weeks and that every month you'll see charges, but it was not very clear how much the true price of the kit was.

As for the product, I ordered the Medium shade and it was actually a bit too dark for me, especially the loose powder (pore eraser). It didn't do that great of a job erasing pores in my opinion. It looked like a matte bronzer, though not too orange. It was just too dark to be a medium. It makes me look like I got a tan. I guess that's ok for most. So I called customer service because there's no way you can go online and change the color. You see, now that I remember, I used to order Sheer Cover. As a customer, you could log into your account, see previous orders, update the kits to include removing or adding items & changing shades, and you got it every month. IT Cosmetics does not provide an online account for their customers. I didn't know how much my kit really cost until I opened my package & saw the receipt.

Anyway, I called customer service to ask them to change the shade to Light & they said they would send me another one for free. Well, we'll see if that's true. That's also when they clarified that each kit is sent every 3 months but that payments are made every single month. I did not choose to cancel today though. I think I'd like to see how the new shade looks on me. Overall, I do like the foundation. I love the lipstick. The mascara is ok. Regular mascara weighs down my lashes so I always use waterproof mascara to keep them shaped, so I can't use the mascara alone. But, I probably will cancel only because I don't want to spend over $100 on makeup, even if it is split up in convenient payments.

Do I recommend this? I don't know, if you can afford it, go ahead and try it. It is worth a try but just be aware that while the website shows you great deals, the TRUE price is hidden. And if they're being deceptive about the real price and they don't allow you to see your own account, then I find that suspicious.

Easy to try, great costumer service and I love their products.

By Jenn, Mesa, AZ, Verified Reviewer

I purchases the start up kit with the trial sizes after trying the It Cosmetics CC cream that I purchased at ULTA. Both the CC cream and the Bye Bye foundation are light weight and easy to apply. Once on, they felt like there was nothing on my face and both stayed on all day. Love, love, love the Bye Bye Pores powder. It is magic and is less expensive and lasts longer than other high end products I have used. I was not a fan of the concealer as it has a shimmery look but loved the face contour disc and brush that were free with the $30 trial. I purchased this in March and the only thing that just now ran out was the foundation. This is 4 months later! When I called to cancel because I was not in need of the next shipment yet, they said I could just postpone shipment for a few months while I tried the product longer, which I did. I decided that I like the CC cream just fine and can buy it locally and cheaper than the foundation so I called today to cancel and it was easy and painless and there were no hidden fees for canceling. Overall I have had a great experience with this company and it's products.

Love

By Kristyn Thompson, Lucasville, OH, Verified Reviewer

I love the Bye Bye Foundation and the CC creams. The prices are a bit high, so I tend to buy mine, when possible, from an overstock seller.

I still need to use a moisturizer before applying, and I have to mix two colors to get the right shade. I use "tan" Bye Bye Foundation and "medium" CC cream. It applies best for me when I apply it with a damp sponge. I use the medium CC cream as a concealer (I have melasma) then I apply the "tan" Bye Bye Foundation with a damp sponge too. It does leave a "dewy" finish so I use a large fluffy brush and put on my own mineral setting powder. That seems to make it matte without taking away the youthful glow or making me orange.

I would give it five stars, but it is very pricey, so I am giving them four.

I'm a fan of IT cosmetics

By Debra, Salt Lake City, UT, Verified Reviewer

I discovered IT cosmetics after trying to find a foundation that covers without making my face look cakey. We all know how expensive this process is. I'm a young looking 40-something-year-old and require more moisture than I have in the past. This line of makeup is great. It's no miracle, but it really does provide coverage while keeping a more dewy look (without being shiny).

I'm not a fan of the provided mascara in the kit (I tried the tight liner awhile back and was quite pleased), but the foundation and concealer will bring me back time after time.

I don't mess with my brows much, so the brow pencil was a nice discovery. It looks about as natural as you can get and I am very pleased.

However, I just received my next shipment without an email (I wanted to be able to change what was sent), and that disappointed me. I'm currently in the process of sending it back and readjusting what will be sent.

It seems that people have been displeased with the cost of the kit. It was pretty clear how it would all go down, so I can only assume that those complaining use cheaper makeup (no judgments) and don't like the price tag of a better product.

Well, it's worth it. Every time.

Conditions apply

I've been their customer for almost a year now. Overall, I like the products. It isn't as full coverage as a regular foundation, but it does cover beautifully.

I have normal skin with some acne scars, and after about eight hours of wear, I do look a bit greasy, and it breaks up a tiny bit. I was unaware, as it seems most people are, that their first whole kit is not the price as advertised. It is broken down into a monthly bill of $53.94, or $161.82 all together. You are then shipped another 8-piece kit every three months unless you cancel.

So far, I have not canceled, so I can't give any input as to how easy or difficult that process is. I have taken advantage of the Customize IT option and have been able to try their different products at the "members' pricing," and I've really enjoyed that. The representatives I've spoken with are clearly not from the US, but they're friendly and efficient.

The bottom line is, if you have an extra $55 laying around every month, give it a shot. If not, this isn't a life changing product. In fact, go to Ulta and pick up IT Cosmetic's CC cream. The ingredients on the back and on both products are word-for-word the exact same. Save yourself some money and try that in the travel size for $15!

Love, love, love IT

By Anny OSteen, Ormond Beach, FL, Verified Reviewer

Wow. What a shock to hear the reviews from so many on here, that were very disappointed!

I have been having a very very satisfied review with using the Bye Bye Foundation continually for over a year now. I have received compliments regarding my make up from many friends over and over again. And that is such a fabulous feeling. I will continue using the Bye Bye Foundation and other products as it works for me. I love that it goes on so easily, covers age spots, blemishes, etc. and makes me feel happy!

Regarding how long the product lasts, in my case, is determined by how much I use per application, which is one good pump usually. I can do my whole face with one pump and it spreads easily. So I have it for more than a month, also because I do not wear it every day.

I love it and will continue to use it, and feel great!

Pump squeeze tube container

By Julia Bermudez, Middletown, DE, Verified Reviewer

I've been meaning to write about this for a while now. I love the product! I actually look forward to putting it on every morning. The scent is so light and refreshing, it's perfect!

The only thing that is frustrating to me is the tube it comes in. The pumping action does not work as it should for something that costs as much as it does. I've had it squirt on my blinds because of having to pump it so much to get anything out. In order to use every drop, I had to cut it open towards the end and is wasteful. Excellent product, though!

Good product

By Lori Bergeron, Sherburne, NY, Verified Reviewer

I was looking for a foundation that was not heavy like many full coverage foundations are. While I really liked this foundation, it was moisturizing and covered well without feeling heavy, I really dislike that you cannot just order the foundation and you cannot find it anywhere except online from IT. You are forced to buy it as part of a kit, and it is set up as an auto shipment. I did cancel my shipments because I like to buy my makeup when I run out and need it.

Bottom line, would I recommend the product? Yes, IF I could buy just the foundation, I definitely would, but I refuse to have to buy the whole set.

Fourth try is a charm

By Kristine C., Eugene, OR, Verified Reviewer

All I want is a tinted moisturizer - a single liquid/cream I can apply to even out my blotchy skin tone. I’ve spent a lot of time and money trying to find one. I’ve tried numerous BB creams, plus Juice Beauty, Wander Beauty, bareMinerals, and now IT’s Bye Bye Foundation. None of those are awful, and I’ll use them, but they aren’t perfect. Finally, in Bye Bye I have a single product that is a great shade match, applies easily, and makes my old blotchy skin look better. I purchased it at Ulta so none of the auto-ship problems others experienced (thanks for the warning!).

Not bad

By Meggie D., Novi, MI, Verified Reviewer

I’ve only used this Bye Bye makeup two days, but I like the way my skin looks and feels. I bought it from QVC, so I did not do auto delivery and only buy stuff when there is a deal, so I’ve had no issues buying it this way. I previously used a different IT Cosmetics foundation, and I like that too, also purchased through QVC.
