This antenna is a minimal performer at best. By itself it does ok on UHF only channels. I added a Winegard Pre-amp to it and it made a great difference. Still at best, it's a poor performer on VHF only because it received just one channel. It does not come complete as they want extra for cables, an amplifier, and ten dollars for a stand. Many companies are now trying to feature novelty Scotch tape type antennas. With some silicone sealer and an extension coax cable you could mount it outside and it would last a few years.

For me, cable is not in the budget so Clear TV channels suffices. I have problems with the signal constantly going in and out. I get about 15 channels and I don't mind that, however, it is frustrating to watch programs that are constantly going in and out. I don't think I would really recommend the Clear TV Antenna to friends. Stick with cable or satellite. If you just have to cut the budget it will work okay.

Below you will see my issue and an attempt to resolve it. I received 16 stations - most of them come and go - 2 are stable. I purchased the amplifier, with it I receive 2 stations - never any more. This is the actual web chat.

[16:00] Diane: I recently purchased the clear channel antenna and I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the amplifier as some of the channels went in and out. After connecting the amplifier I was shocked when it knocked out all the channels but the 2 strongest, and they even now pixilated at times.
[16:00] Thank you for visiting chat! We will be with you shortly.
[16:05] Michelle: If you live in a major metropolitan area you should not need to boost the signal strength. If you live in a rural area of the country where the signal is weak or intermittent, you may want to purchase a Clear TV amplifier to boost your reception.
[16:06] Michelle: Are we still connected?
[16:09] Diane: Although I live in a capital city, it is surrounded by rural areas- the stations are all in the rural areas. I already purchased the amplifiers as I said as my signals would often break up - I was trying to stabilize the signals. Unfortunately, the amplifier knocks out all the signals - can you tell me why it is instead of amplifying signals it is knocking them out?
[16:11] Diane: hello?
[16:12] Michelle: Yes I'm here.
[16:12] Michelle: You can get clearer channels by adjusting the positioning of your Clear TV antenna for optimal performance.
[16:13] Diane: Do you have any idea why the amplifier is knocking out the channels?
[16:13] Diane: I understand about positioning etc.
[16:14] Diane: What I don't understand is an amplifier should not knock out channels
[16:19] Michelle: The reception will vary based on a certain variables, such as distance from the transmitter, hills, buildings, and even tall trees can impact reception. The amplifier that serves to boost the signal in your area.

Only a few channels are clear. None of the channels 8 work. Some channels come in distorted. Half of them are in a language I do not understand.

This isn't like the advertisement where you get over 100 channels! That's false as most channels don't come in as well. I've tried to look at the bigger picture but it's not what it's cracked up to be. Meaning, just don't believe the hype! You get like 12 channels and maybe 2 work when they want!

I tried other similar products, I got one channel that was choppy with in and out reception. But I tried Clear TV and I get a few totally clear channels and on my other TV in the bedroom I get 6 completely different channels. I'm not really satisfied but it beats nothing.
But I really do hate that guy smiling and lying on their TV ads, makes me just want to return it.

I have Clear TV now and it's not any different from what I was TV without it. It doesn't provide me with a clear picture on my screen. I definitely going to look into sending the antenna back for a full refund.

They took my money and I never received anything. And as soon as I placed my order, someone called me, but couldn't tell me anything about my order. It's a scam. But I will try to get my money back.

This thing does not get all local channels as it claims. And it's mostly Spanish. But it does come in handy when cable goes out.

My husband and I had one of these (bought it at Walmart in the As Seen on TV section). At this time we drove semi trucks over the road, so we got one to try it out on the TV in the truck. Well, I couldn't get a signal anywhere with it, not even at the truck stops. So like I said before, the name does not fit because "clear TV" it is not.
