Misleading product dimension advertising

By Denis Hart, Polson, MT, Verified Reviewer

We bought the 9 1/2" Deep Square Pan. As written, and advertised, one would logically conclude that the pan would be 9 1/2 inches deep, and about the same pan dimensions (i.e. 9 1/2" X 9 1/2"). Come to find out, after spending over $100 on the whole order, the "deep" pan is only 4 1/2" deep. I am really disappointed in this type of misleading advertising.

Not completely satisfied

By Paul Gould, South Carolina, Verified Reviewer

This 9.5" pan cooks great. It cleaned up well for the first month. Then food would stick and have to be scrubbed, unlike the advertisement. Also when stirring food while the pan was hot, the surface scratched and now sticks every time. A little misleading from the ad. How do I exchange this pan per the warranty? I like it but feel I got taken.

My square small pan sticks

By Bobby D, Lexington, SC, Verified Reviewer

This morning my wife came in and put scrambled eggs into the shallow pan. First, she sprayed a little cooking spray on it and when she put in the eggs they started sticking to the pan. Had to scrape it off after soaking. What happened? I would like a replacement pan.

Fry basket scratched the pans

By Cheryl, Miami, FL, Verified Reviewer

Was so excited I bought 2 square pans and couldn't wait to cook for a big party weekend. Everyone loved them. We used them to bake, fry and make eggs. They worked amazingly.

But after washing and really looking at them the bottoms were a mess. The finish was scraped off part of one. Then the edges of both have sharp scratches on one side. The fry basket scratched the finish right off. It was sharp and you could slice your finger on it if you slid it across the scratches.

And the one we baked in? Cutting the lemon bars the metal pie server scratched a tic-tac-toe into the finish. I thought you could even use a mixer in them (according to one infomercial).

We bought these at a local store and I am going to return them. Have thought about exchanging them and then not using the fry basket and being extra careful not to scratch them BUT that sort of defeats the purpose.

I'd recommend these with the warning of USER BE GENTLE. Sigh.

Works fairly well

By Karla, Minneapolis, MN, Verified Reviewer

This Copper Chef Pan works pretty well, however, some things will stick to it if you don't use some kind of well.

It appears that copper is a very thin coat as one of my friends is losing the copper on it.

I have a lifetime warranty but I have to pay for shipping and handling to send it and then another $15 to have them send it back.

Seems unfair as I can go to the store and buy the whole pan for twenty bucks

Copper Chef requires low cooking temp, TLC

By Chuck Megibow, Nottingham, Maryland, Verified Reviewer

I bought the Copper Chef pan 3 months ago. I have used it to cook eggs, meats, pasta, and fry foods. I noticed that items tend to stick if high heat is used for cooking. I have an electric range, and simply setting the heat to at or below medium eliminates food from sticking. It may take a bit longer to cook, but foods will simply slide out. I made a cheese omelet and found that the egg began to stick to the pot when I cooked it on medium high heat. Another time I used a setting below medium heat and there was no sticking. I would recommend lower heat to avoid food cooking too fast and sticking. I have cleaned the pot by hand, an easy job, and it still looks new. This pot, in my experience, with a little TLC, and low cooking heat, should last a reasonable number of years. If I encounter problems, I will let you guys know.

Copper Chef vs Red Copper

By Thomas Cottrell, Reedville, Virginia, Verified Reviewer

I have the Red Copper and the Copper Chef. I like the Red Copper better, for one reason, and that is that the handle is not as big and long. Both pans have an outside that is hard to keep clean and the food sticks. I feel that Red Copper is better protected inside and having the shorter handle is much easier to handle.

Mixed feelings

By Marty Beaugard, Missouri, Verified Reviewer

I have a small round one, and after about three months, it started sticking for no reason. I also have the large square one, and so far so good with it. I am hoping it doesn't mess up after a while.

Reviewer HighYa in not factual about the XL size

By George, Seattle, WA, Verified Reviewer

You keep saying that the only difference between the two pans is its higher sides. The original is a 9-inch square, and the XL is an 11-inch square. So it is a lot bigger pan/pot.

As for non-stick goes, forget it. It sticks and burns to a black crust after cooking pork chops, steak, home fries, etc. I even added a bit of olive like that chef dude. Forget about eggs. The ones you see in the pan are perfectly round in the pan. That will not happen. After cracking in the pan is spreads out a lot and sticks like hell.

Copper Crisper

By Ellen Grossman, Delray Beach, FL, Verified Reviewer

I have been using my Copper Crisper now for a couple of months. The food stuck slightly until I used it last night. Everything stuck to the cookie sheet. I soaked it overnight and still cannot get the food off the sheet. I am very disappointed as I will not be able to use it again.

I want to love this pan, but...

By Joe McIlvaine, Florida, Verified Reviewer

My girlfriend gave the 9.5" pan as a gift. I was great in the beginning, but as others have stated, it loses it's non-stick properties very fast.

I treated my pan with kid gloves, followed all the instructions, hand washed and dried the pan, even stored it away from my other cookware to prevent scratching. The bottom line is, the non-stick properties failed after about a dozen uses, and the bottom is all scratched up.

I want to love this pan, but I can only like it. I still use it, and while food does stick sometimes, it still cleans up pretty easy. It's not a great pan, but it is not bad either. I may still purchase the XL six or seven piece set that includes an induction coo top and a couple of accessories. For three payments of $33 + $20 P&H, it is a pretty good deal. I am a full-time RV'er and cook every day. My lot rent includes electric, so over time, this will pay for itself in propane savings.

I would recommend this pan, but keep in mind, it is not perfect. Food will start to stick after a few uses, but if you are not careless, it cleans up pretty easily.
