Gradual failure

By Gale, Charleston, TN, Verified Reviewer

This product was great at first. I was careful to use it as directed and was happy with the non-stick results. I used it almost every day. However, now after about 2 months of use, everything sticks. If any liquid is added to the pan, it will burn to a black layer that requires soaking to clean. The wipe-clean with an easy swipe (as advertised) didn't last.

I'm so disappointed with the pan. It still looks great, cooks evenly, but the loss of the non-stickability makes me regret my purchase.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Beware!

By Diane Peacher, Rosewood Heights, IL, Verified Reviewer

I purchased the square Copper Chef pan almost a year ago after seeing commercials of what was supposedly a wonderful pan.

The first time I used it on the stove as I was stirring, I realized it was very awkward stirring in a round circular motion into a square pan because the corners we're not getting stirred, so you have to stir in a square motion which is not natural. Aside from that, everything seemed to be fine at first. But it is not "non-stick" as they claim to be.

Food did not just slide out of the pan as the commercial shows. However, at first, it was fairly easy to clean up. But after using it as a fryer, grease residue has stuck to the top half of the pan and will not come out. I have tried everything. The only way I was able to remove a little bit of the fried on grease or baked-on grease was to use the side of a butter knife, which appeared to start scratching the surface of the pan, so I stopped. The outside of the pan looks like I've had it for many many many years and it is not an attractive pan at all.

I called customer service twice and spoke to two different representatives with heavy accents which were hard to understand, but they also really didn't care what I did with the pan. The first call the man said he would send me an email with information to send it back and they would replace it. However, that leaves me without a pan for almost three weeks, and the shipping cost is almost $15 to send it, and that is at my expense since they do not refund the shipping. It will cost me money to have the pen replaced.

So the commercial is not true when they say that they will replace it absolutely free. I will also be posting my reviews on other websites that will allow me to post the pictures so people can actually see what this pan looks like after minimal use. I gave my review two stars, but after talking to customer service, I should have reduced it to a one-star.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Not a scam, works great!

By Rebecca , Baker City, Oregon

I bought this online a week or two ago, and just received it in the mail. I was worried because there were no reviews on this pot, and people said they never got it after ordering. It looks like I am the exception, because it arrived and it works great! I bought it off the Copper Chef website after seeing the advertisement on TV, and it came with a fry basket, a little paperback recipe book, and a steamer tray. The recipes look great and this pot has been holding up well with no problems. It's a light pan but seems pretty durable, and it washes really well. You have to treat it like any other nonstick pan and not destroy it with cooking sprays, scratchy sponges or metal utensils. I also like the fact that it's a cool copper color, but doesn't need to be taken care of like actual copper.

Don't be afraid to buy this pan. So far, its been a good investment. :)

Copper Chef – Don't waste your money people

By David Grubb, Raleigh, NC, Verified Reviewer

If you see a good review about this pan, they were likely paid by the seller to write it. The pan did not last a month before it started sticking, just like the cheap ones you can buy for 10 bucks at Walmart.

Now it is useless except for boiling water. Plus, their return policy requires you to pay 10 bucks for shipping it back, and another 15 bucks for unknown?? handling fee.

Just save your money and buy a Walmart cheap pan and throw it away after it starts sticking. You will come out way ahead and save money in the long run.

I hate that I did not research the reviews here before purchasing. My bad. Most everyone here gives them a bad review. If anyone knows of a really good non-stick pan that does last a while, I would love to hear about it.

Else, I will just continue to buy the cheap ones every few months at Walmart or Amazon.

Buyer beware

By Anne, Wisconsin, Verified Reviewer

Very disappointed. I purchased my Copper Chef 11 inch pan through QVC after watching the Eric Theiss presentation. We bought several that day for Christmas gifts and one for home. There was a link to the warranty, and it stated that the ceramic coating had a lifetime warranty. Last night, after cleaning the casserole, we noticed some of the ceramic had come off in one of the corners.

I contacted Copper Chef with the warranty information, and they referred me back to QVC. I spoke with QVC, and they told me they were out of the product so I should contact Copper Chef and provide the warranty information. I called Copper Chef customer service back and was treated rudely by their agents. They told me that since I bought it through QVC I had to deal with them, and the warranty was not valid through Copper Chef.

I am so disappointed that Copper Chef does not back their product if purchased somewhere else than copperchef.com. What is the point of including a warranty when it is sold at other outlets if it is not honored by the company? Does that mean that if someone purchases a Copper Chef from Amazon they will get the same result as we did? What a shame. I wonder if Eric Theiss realizes this is occurring. He should have disclosed this when he presented it on QVC, and it should be included in literature put out by the company, so that it is clear.

I will make sure I inform every person I speak with that is interested in this product, so they make an informed choice before purchase.

I am really unhappy with the service

By Kathy Failla, Yuma, Arizona, Verified Reviewer

I am disappointed that they quoted me one price and then charged me more. I will never order anything again from this company. They are dishonest and say one thing to get you hooked and then charge something different. This is bad business, and I hate that they do that, especially when we buy in good faith. So sad.

False advertising

By Paul R. Haynes, Perry, Michigan, Verified Reviewer

I recently received two round Copper Chef pans as a gift. I seasoned the pans as directed; oiled the pans and then baked in the oven at 300 degrees for 10 minutes. When I went to fry eggs in them the eggs stuck in both pans (?).

I went to the online chat service and was informed that you can't use eggs right out of the fridge and have to use medium-low heat! The next morning room temperature eggs preheated in the pan on med-low heat; eggs were a mess. I went back to the chat service and told him all of that, and he said to use a little oil or butter! What the heck? Does non-stick mean you have to lube up the pan?

My opinion is stay with cast iron, that way you can beat the hell out of anyone you want and you won't dent the pan. Copper Chef pans are a piece of crap.

I love my Copper Chef

By Jeremiah Twofeathers, Oklahoma, Verified Reviewer

Wow! This is the best pan I have ever owned. The key to keeping this pan doing what it is supposed to do is cooking on lower temperatures than normal. When I ordered I didn't expect to get my pan until all three payments were made but I was surprised to get it in 4 days.

I also expected to pay 3 payments of $24.99 but was surprised to get it for just 3 payments of $19.99.

I am saving up to order some other pans from Copper Chef so I can throw away all of my "non-stick" pans that don't do what they are supposed to do.

A bad product

By John Thurmond, Tullahoma, TN, Verified Reviewer

I have been using the frying pan for about 2 months at various heat temperatures and so far everything sticks.

The end results looks like it has already been ate.
