Poor quality control

By Denise, Ringeos, NJ, Verified Reviewer

I ordered this pan in 9.5 inch with a lid for my mother. She received the pan, but the lid did not fit and it was warped. We are sending it back. We are very disappointed because she likes the size and the look of the pan.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Poor Quality

By H, Albuquerque, NM, Verified Reviewer

I loved this pan at first. I made popcorn and just by sliding the pan back and forth on the stove the copper coating scraped right off the bottom like nothing.

You can see the copper color scrapings on the burner. Also, the center of the pan " bowed" with the edges on the inside lower. Imagine what it would do in the oven? The silver edging on the lid you can pull it away from the lid, it's not tightly secure.

This is my second pan. As for the first pan, after using it with a non-stick utensil, it got a small chip in the far inside corner. I thought to myself, “Well it could be a manufactured defect. I'll try another pan”. Well, I did. and what a disappointment. I went through two pans in less than 2 months use.

They're not durable AT ALL.

BUYER BEWARE! I returned both. I'm getting Gotham Steel, they have everything plus durability.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Love the cookware. Make sure you use plastic utensils.

By JetSmarterSucks, New York, Verified Reviewer

I never enjoyed cooking so much. I love the pots and pans. I bought every pan available and also been giving them out to the family as gifts.

The only bad thing is that they do scratch which I thought they were not supposed to. So make sure you only use plastic tools when cooking.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Domed bottom and uneven cooking

By Richard Cook, Kentucky , Verified Reviewer

We thought this would be a great pan with the high sides and non-stick surface, but we found that we could not even cook a single egg in the pan. As soon as the egg hit the pan, it slid to the edge one inch of the pan and laid there. It would not cook until we swiped it into the center of the pan. We also found, that after a week, the non-stick began to fail.

Save your money and buy quality cookware instead

By Marcello Zito, Los Angeles, CA, Verified Reviewer

Absolute piece of junk.

I received a Copper Chef square pan for Christmas 2016 from my niece and nephew. They know I'm an avid chef and love cooking for family and friends. I have commercial kitchen quality cookware and utensils in my home but gave the Copper Chef pan an honest try.

The Copper Chef worked wonderfully for omelets and scrambled eggs, and was non-stick, and at first, I was pleasantly surprised because it was very thin and light and made of thin gauge material. The fry basket and steamer set up is a joke. It is cheap Chinese junk that is a testament to shoddy Chinese workmanship and quality control (keep in mind; I have only used it approx ten times for eggs since Christmas 2016).

Within one month and approx ten uses, it began to stick. Today I tried it for the last time and scrambled six eggs with Romano cheese and butter, and it stuck like crazy. I have never used it over medium heat on a gas range.

Today, I had to soak the pan with warm water and use a rubber spatula to scrape the egg and Romano off before I hand washed it with a soft cotton cloth and Dawn soap. I'm very particular about my things and take very good care of my cookware and utensils. It still looks "out of the box brand new."

I would return it, but don't want to make my niece and nephew feel bad. Instead, I'm going to post this to as many review sites as possible, so that others won't get shafted by this deceptive commercial. I may make a YouTube video as well. I wish I could post pictures of the pan with eggs stuck to it.

Eggs stick even with butter and olive oil. I wouldn't even try to make sunny side up eggs. It's laughable that the commercial shows eggs sliding out without oil. A cheap supermarket fry pan works ten times better, and my well seasoned Lodge cast iron skillet is nonstick and over 20 years old.

I feel so bad that my family wasted money on this worthless pan as a gift for me. I don't have the heart to tell them how bad it is. I'm telling you from the bottom of my heart, do NOT waste your money on this pan!

Already angry!

By Linda, Chesterton, IN, Verified Reviewer

Having seen the ads for the Copper Chef square pan many times, but not ordering because I thought the price was too high, I saw an option to make three installment payments of $24.99. I then made the purchase with that agreement, yet within a couple of days of my initial purchase, my bank account has already been debited for TWO payments of $24.99. And I haven't even received the merchandise yet!

I knew it, and this is the very reason I never fall for and never do this type of transaction. NEVER again!

Cost

By Roger Lord, Tulsa, Oklahoma, Verified Reviewer

They charged me $50 for shipping and postage, but the set costs $99.99. You have to fill out info on the computer to get the coupons. Do not order it off the TV.

Very disappointed - not non-stick, is discolored and stained

By James Fishman, Florida, Verified Reviewer

I bought one of their Copper Chef 10-inch frying pans from As Seen on TV. It has their name on it and came with their warranty on the package. It has not lived up to my expectations nor my wife's, who was a chef for 22 years. I cannot take a picture of this, but I cooked some scrambled eggs in this today. Their ads on TV say that you don't need to use oil and that it won't stick, but that's a lie. They need to give me the information on how I can send this frying pan back to them, and if they can replace it. They have my email.

I would never recommend it to anybody.

Stay far, far away from these pans. Rip off!

By Tracy, Tennessee, Verified Reviewer

Well, my daughter bought me these pans because of all the commercials of the eggs sliding without any spray. Nope, absolutely not true! $80 for two pans and lids, and before I even used the square pan, I noticed the copper wearing off on the edges. I couldn't return them since I had already used the other one. Also, there is a black spot in the middle of the one pan that I use for cooking hash browns in it where they stuck to the pan with oil in the pan.

I think it should be called false advertisement and they should have to take their crappy pans back and give refunds! Very, very disappointed. It's already hard enough to pick the pots and pans to get because they are so expensive, but then to give this company your hard earned money to get a crappy product is very disappointing! I would not recommend this to anyone.

Junk

By Peter Hoppe, Mims, FL, Verified Reviewer

As with others, it worked well for about two months then the sticking began. Copper Chef's website will not allow bad reviews.

I wrote to Copper Chef and they took about 15 days to respond saying:

Dear Peter,

Have you tried to pre-heat the Copper Chef pan for at least 3-5 minutes using low to medium heat settings? The Cerami-Tech coating distributes heat more effectively and evenly. This causes some protein-rich foods to cook more quickly. The Cerami-Tech coating does not require the use of butter or cooking oil. If you choose to use oil or butter, we recommend oil or butter with a high smoke point: refined olive oil, peanut oil, corn oil and (clarified) butter. Our recommendation is to season your Copper Chef pans before the first use and each time you wash the cookware in a dishwasher. Here are the instructions below on how to season the Copper Chef pan.

1. Heat clean, dry pan on low heat for 30 seconds.

2. Remove from heat and add 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil.

3. Using a paper towel, rub the oil all over the entire interior surface of the pan.

4. Repeat each time you wash the cookware in a dishwasher.

The worst pan I ever had

By Richard Klass, Coram, New York, Verified Reviewer

The first week when I bought it, it was great. Now after using it after the third week, I need Brillo to clean it, which I have not used as of yet. I notified the company and got "so sorry you can't receive your money back, but here, buy another one at 10% off." I would love to take it off the market and stop screwing people.
