Saved our sanity

By Rhonni M., Mount Pleasant, SC, Verified Reviewer

My year-old Cavachon puppy was making monthly trips to the vet. His stomach was very sensitive and he frequently would vomit and suffer with diarrhea for days, he would get listless and dehydrate. He was surviving on antibiotics and super probiotics. Then we discovered Dr. Marty's food. He didn't like it at first, we had to doctor it up with homemade bone broth and a bit of crumbled chopped meat. It was like an off switch. He is 2 years old now, he hasn't vomited in a year, he has puppy energy and his stool only gets soft if and when he gets into goose poo. He now loves his food, feels good all the time and (by the way) no longer chews his feet.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Dangerous sparks plus ~$700 in products never received!

By Joann A., Erie, Verified Reviewer

My small toy poodle -7 pounds - will not eat this food or treats. I tried many times to transition him to it according to the instructions.

He likes his food heated a bit so I decided to try heating it after it sat for a bit. Something in this food sparked when I zapped it for 5 seconds in the microwave! Now I am scared to feed it to my precious little 14-year-old!

Further, I bought 12 jars and 12 bottles of products totaling $648 that I never received to date!

So disappointed and out a lot of money for both food, treats, etc! I should have known better than to try something that you have to pay to return it, especially when spending around $800!

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Poor and unprofessional business practices

By Don G., Surprise, AZ, Verified Reviewer

The dog food may be what it’s advertised to be but the way you cheat customers is terrible. I ordered only the six bags of dog food and nothing else. Shortly after my order went through I checked my credit card account and observed that in addition to the dog food charge there was a fraudulent charge for several bags of salmon treats I did not authorize. I immediately tried to get this corrected by emailing Dr. Marty requesting them to rescind the fraudulent order for the treats. I didn’t hear anything the next day and sent another email with no response. I didn't get a response until after I received the order and it was all string along as if no one read the two clear emails I sent. This unauthorized charge busted my limited budget causing a chain of problems and putting some major financial stress on me and my family. I won’t do any business with unprofessional businesses like this. That’s really low.

This is not a fake review and everything happened as detailed above so don’t try and make it anything else.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Allergy

By Lourdes H., Ocean Park, WA, Verified Reviewer

My dogs loved the taste but the allergy with my terrier didn’t even slow down.

That was the main reason for me to get this product.

My picky dog looked forward to the food and all three would finish their meals.

My pup loved it

By Andrea B., Tamarac, FL, Verified Reviewer

My 10-year-old dog loved it from the first bite.

The ingredients are great and he really enjoys it very much. I did purchase 3 bags which do not last long and he is only 15 pounds.

Unfortunately for me, the cost is prohibitive and I cannot afford to keep purchasing.

My dog eats the food okay

By Barbara T., Pittsburgh, PA, Verified Reviewer

My 6.5-pound Morkie, Isabella, is a somewhat finicky eater. I supplement the Fresh Pet select chicken with brown rice and peas and carrots with Dr. Marty's food.

I have noticed that she lets the food sit in the water for hours before eating it. I was hoping that she would eat it with more gusto. I ordered way too many bags and am considering giving some to an associate at work to try on her dogs. She has four!

That is my honest reaction to your dog food.

Happy dogs

By Craig A., Bridgeport, OH, Verified Reviewer

Plain and simple - THEY LOVE THIS FOOD.

From the moment I add water to it until it is ready for them to eat. They are barking, dancing and even howling, after I serve them - complete silence (except for chomping). Lol...

Thank you, Dr. Marty - REALLY, THANK YOU.

Great product

By Amy Y., Minneapolis, MN, Verified Reviewer

My dog really enjoyed the food when we first gave it her. She is pretty picky these days as she is old and I think a bit senile. Her energy level has been better most days. Some days she's not that interested in the food but I will continue to try to get her to eat it. I believe in the product.

No soggy stuff!

By Janet D., Utah, Verified Reviewer

Have been feeding Dr. Marty's Nature Blend to our 5-year-old spayed toy schnauzer-pomeranian for about one month. She enjoys the dog food, but prefers it dry without soaking in water (the booklet that came in the box said this was okay).

Her gas and loose stools seem to have vanished. She has stopped eating grass and digging up the back yard to get at the grassroots. Her breath is better also.

We cut the serving to one cup daily because she is slightly overweight at 25 lbs, and she should be less than 20 lbs for her height, according to her vet.

She has grown much larger than her parents however, mother - toy schnauzer, father - pomeranian, which surprised everyone. She usually has high energy, strong white teeth, and healthy gums.

I limit her treats to one small Greenie and two Maro Dog bones daily. She drinks lots of fresh water and also has about 1/2 cup to 1 cup dry dog kibble, Whole Earth small breed, daily also. She enjoys half of a banana or sometimes about 1/2 cup of cubed tomato when available.

My challenge presently is the cost of the dog food as I am on a limited budget monthly, but I think the trade-off as she ages will be fewer vet bills and maybe a longer and happier life.

Length of Use: Less than 3 months

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Pros and Cons

Open about contents of the food

Savings offers

Fast service

High cost of the product, but you buy cheap, you get cheap

From picky eater to bowl-licker!

By Edith H., Pittsburgh, PA, Verified Reviewer

We have had Angus, a rather small Cavapoo, for almost 8 months. Like many of his breed, he is a picky eater, and I have tried every natural and commercial topping available. Only liver has worked, and sometimes he has picked it off his food.

I am using Dr. Marty for a topping, crushing the little pellets and mixing it 2-part high-quality kibble to 1-part Dr. Marty (just dry: he doesn't like gravy). He dances and barks while I am preparing it, and is now eating the daily recommended amount, licking the bowl clean every meal.

I am delighted! His fur is glossy, he has great energy, and doesn't beg for our food because he is satisfied. I would feed him straight Dr. Marty, but it is expensive. Also, I think that some of the harder kibble is better for his teeth long-term. Thank you, Dr. Marty, for this great product!

Length of Use: Less than 3 months

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Pros and Cons

Dog eats without coaxing

All natural

High amount of meat/fish, with innards!

Contains some good grain

Cost

Inflammatory bowel disease

By Michelle C., Reno, NV, Verified Reviewer

My 3.5-year-old terrier mix was diagnosed with inflammatory bowel disease 2 years ago and cannot eat regular dog food. He vomits up all processed foods except the expensive veterinary prescribed food Z/D or H/P. He loves Dr. Marty's and never vomits after eating it.

Length of Use: 1–2 years

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Pros and Cons

My dog keeps it down

Loves the taste

Pricey
