It's ok but not great

If you live in the bourbon bubble then this may not be for you. Most things I can buy cheaper locally. There are some rarities where prices are cheaper for some reason. If you want liquor from smaller distillers then this might be for you. They carry big brands too but you can probably get it locally.

Free shipping is the only real perk that I enjoyed and they kept messing that up and I would have to contact them and get them to reset it. One time this happened while trying to get the Flaviar barrel pick of Woodford Double oaked. By the time they fixed it the bottles were sold out.

If they sell out that fast they should do more picks. My other bourbon club has probably done 10 barrel picks in the last year of whiskey and usually they sell out in a month unless the shipping is ridiculous. So if that was the case here then it would be worth being a member.

The samples are so limited in choice and often very cheap bottles are paired with more expensive ones in a tasting box so the value isn’t what it seems usually, especially if you calculate it per ounce. There are trustworthy Facebook groups where you can get samples cheaper and of harder to find stuff and get it shipped.

Customer service has been fairly quick to deal with issues but I would expect these things to be automated more like my free shipping being automatically credited back to my account so I can order something else.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

No customer service

Terrible, or better, no customer service. No phone number to call. Just an email that says they will get back to you within 24 hours. I have been shipping product for over 25 years to customers and never did I experience probably the worse shipping ever, CDL Last Mile. WHAT COMPANY uses a shipping company with a review score of 1.4 stars on Google. I started my subscription around Father’s Day and as of August 5, I still do not have my 1st product.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Items lost

So, I ordered some items and the shipper came to my house but I was not there to sign for it. They left me a note and I called that evening to have the package stay at the warehouse and I would pick it up on Thursdays. Well on Thursday after work I stopped by and I waited an hour for them to try and locate my liquor. I had bought the The Rum Galaxy Vol.2. To no surprise, they claimed the package had been misplaced and could not find it. I was then told to contact the company that sent it, which was Flaviar. I was so frustrated with the shipping company on losing my liquor. It was a birthday gift for someone on Saturday and I did not have the gift I had ordered. So I sent an email and in less than 24 hours they got back to me and told me they would get another sent out right away. I was so surprised by this because I thought I was going to get the run around from them as well. But the customer service was AWESOME and I am so glad I am a club member. Not only have the products that I have ordered been excellent but the customer service is out of this world. Definitely well worth the price!

Personalized customer service

I got Flaviar as a gift. The first contact I had with Flaviar was answering a survey after my first package was delivered. I wasn’t going to reply, because I just figured it was some "survey monkey" or other outside corporate entity that was going to receive the survey. I was wrong!

First, Flaviar IMMEDIATELY replied to what I believed was a quirk in their system. Flaviar’s customer service replied to me explaining how to obtain what I was looking for. Flaviar has since tweaked that process and said that they use customer feedback to constantly improve their service. My second interaction was because FedEx returned my bottle to sender. This was NOT Flaviar having issues with the delivery, it was the sender. I don’t know if the bottle broke or what, but Flaviar was on this issue and IMMEDIATELY sent another bottle.

This company cares about what you think of them and goes above and beyond to ensure your happiness. Just to clarify, the first issue was basically my incompetence and the second was due to the shipper error. I have talked glowingly about this company on Twitter and they also replied to me on Twitter. When you use Flaviar, it’s like they assign you your own personal customer service representative to answer your questions. You can tell that they care, because even in the reviews on here that have been slightly negative, Flaviar has personalized responses answering those grievances and is still attempting to resolve the problems.

Flaviar customer service is out of this world! This is an amazing company!

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Fantastic service! I have placed many orders with them over the last 6 months (18 bottles and counting). Delivery was slow during the Christmas rush, but they have really improved their shipping and delivery. The last several orders have all arrived in less than three weeks, and every single order has been well packed and arrived in perfect condition. Their email communication is excellent and they even located a special bottle for me. They guarantee delivery and stand behind their service. I had one issue which they stood behind and immediately issued a refund. Highly recommended and I will continue to purchase more from them. These guys are serious about what they do.

Excellent service!

I started my Flaviar experience first with a tasting pack. It arrived quickly. Then I ordered the first bottle and it took quite some time but arrived finally. After that, I have ordered two times more, totaling six bottles and the delivery has been really quick and products really good.

Communication is good for me and selection is good, from a suitable level up to a top quality products.

I can highly recommend!

Quality, Variety and professional

I have been a member since December of 2014 and have purchased over 20 bottles including very fine Scotch, Tequila that will put you on you backside, Rums from so many countries, Whiskey and Gin. My very favorite so far has been the Ron Zacapa Rum from Guatemala, man is that a smooth and wonderful rum.

I have had only one glitch in all of these orders and that was the fault of the USPS. not Flaviar. When this happened, the wonderful Concierge at Flaviar kept in contact with me throughout the problem solving process. I will buy many more Spirits with confidence and be sure of it's quality.

A voyage of discovery

At Flaviar, you can find out of the ordinary bottles from around the world without breaking the bank. I used to drink only malts from Scotland, but have found a whole range of whiskies/ryes etc from the USA. Christmas and birthdays are now easy for my wife and daughter with all the artisan gins.
