Scam!

By Debra M., Houghton Lake, MI, Verified Reviewer

I ordered the deep square pan and skillet. The deep pan came with an electric induction cooking plate. The plate only heated up the center of my pan. Around the center stayed raw or uncooked. I had to keep pushing it into the center of the pan for it to cook.

I loved the pans for about three months. Now they STICK CONSTANTLY! Both pans have cracks and scratches all over the bottom of them from trying to release the food I was cooking. In fact, the deep pan has a huge chip out of the bottom of it. I am so disappointed in my pans. I was foolish to have thrown away my receipts. I honestly believed what they were telling me. Yes, I cured the pans with vegetable oil. Nonstick sprays are useless. Everything STICKS IN THESE PANS! I regret purchasing these pans. I don't use that tiny induction plate either. I had tossed my older pans because I thought that these copper pans would last. Boy am I feeling stupid now. I learned a hard lesson. I don't recommend anyone purchasing these pans unless you SAVE your RECEIPTS and DON'T use metal on those pans!

We are on a tight budget and can't buy more pans. I am taking pictures of the bottom of my pans to send in. UNBELIEVABLE!

Horrible, not worth it

By Monica L., Illinois, Verified Reviewer

Would give zero stars if I could.

My husband bought me some of these pans and they were good for the first few times I used them. Now they are scratching, chipping, and everything sticks to them. They didn't hold up to what was said about them going in the oven or the fire. I will not buy these again, and I tell everyone that asks about them that they are not good pans and not worth the money.

Bad pan

By Larry D., Sun Lakes, AZ, Verified Reviewer

Our experience is similar to many others. Eggs stick and are hard to remove. I would not recommend it. TV ads are deceptive! Lots of poor reviews confirm this is a bad deal. I will stay away from their products in the future.

Not happy

By Kathy F., Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada, Verified Reviewer

I got the Gotham Steel frying pan, only one mind you, but I also ordered the Gotham Steel pan with basket that goes in the oven and the large pot with cover, and well, the pan is the oven sticks, and the frying pan scratched as well as the large pot. I never sent it back because I have not had time, but needless to say, I will not be buying any more.

It's a LIE

By Kelly S., Missouri, Verified Reviewer

This pan is less than a year old, but everything sticks to it and it’s warped. A waste of money, glad I was able to line the pockets of some darn executive. We use it to feed our goats now.

We bought it in the As Seen On TV aisle. Horrid.

Beautiful piece of garbage - burn residue will not come off!

By Laurie P., Maryland, Verified Reviewer

I, too, fell for this scam. Right out of the gate, whether you use the pans dry or with oil, everything sticks and burns onto the surface. I soak them for days, scrub with the rough plastic part of a sponge, and nothing, the burned on residue remains. If I scrub hard enough to get the residue off, the surface of the pan comes off too, and is dull and then sticks worse the next time.

I called the customer support number today and it's one of those companies that sells 100 gimmick products and this one wasn't even listed in their myriad of options. I pressed 0 and got the rudest, most abrupt representative I've had the displeasure of talking to in a long time...CUSTOMER SUPPORT! She told me she'd never heard of this problem before...I'm the first and only one, right! She said to clean the pans with Brillo pads, only Brillo, and they will come clean. I asked her why the cleaning directions don't say that if that's the only way to get them clean and she just said "get them." As I told her, I have never used Brillo pads, have never needed to on any cookware my entire life, but now I have to have special pads to clean these horrible pans. Yeah, right. They are going right back to the store instead.

DO NOT BUY these, or if you fall for their beauty and the promise, hold onto your receipt and don't mess with their customer non-support, just return them to the store within the return window. Total scam! I can't even believe these are still sold anywhere, they're that bad.

Terrible, non-stick joke

By Joseph W., Connecticut, Verified Reviewer

I got one for Christmas last year and use it virtually every day to make eggs. I used a rubber spatula, never used metal, but the nonstick surface is literally falling apart, disintegrating, looks like someone's been using it with a knife everyday.

Gotham products are the worst to buy.

By Naomi E., Norman, OK, Verified Reviewer

Their commercials are lies. They stick and scratch. I have pictures. I've asked for the address so I can send the pictures. But still no response. The eggs stick and everything you cook sticks to the pans and skillets. I spent over $300.00 on pieces of junk. I wouldn't recommend this product to my worst enemy, let alone any of my friends. I never used harsh soaps or utensils on them. They've got chips in them, and the coating has rubbed off. Believe me, this is no fake review. I purchased just what I said. They don't even deserve a rating.

I am not impressed. Prefer my cast iron skillet.

By Johanna K., Kemptville, Ontario, Canada, Verified Reviewer

I was impressed with their TV commercial so I bought a 9.5-inch pan. I used it exactly as directed...the eggs stuck to the pan, not once but three times. I took a picture of the pan after cooking the eggs for proof. Pancakes stuck to the pan as well. I do NOT like the product and feel I wasted $20.00!

Worst pan ever

By Terry K., Oklahoma, Verified Reviewer

I bought a 9-inch square pan. I treated it as per instructions. Everything I put in the pan, it sticks to the pan. So I re-treated it again and it didn't do any good. I had to use oven cleaner to clean the pan. This is the most useless pan ever. My cast irons skillets are a lot better. Even the cheaper nonstick pans are better.

I will never buy Gotham products again and will tell my friends not to buy.

Product

By Susan M., High River, Alberta, Canada, Verified Reviewer

Well, I bought the square frying, thought well, not bad, so I bought a small round one. Well, I was really wrong and sorry that I wasted the money. I wish I still had the receipts so that I had proof of purchase so I could try to return them. I can't even scramble an egg without it sticking, and they don't come clean in the dishwasher at all, I have to scrub them to clean them properly. You see them in all the stores now and I just laugh at them. I would never buy anything Gotham Steel or suggest to anyone to buy them either.
