Fry pan

By Barb C., Grand Bendo, Ontario, Canada, Verified Reviewer

I have never had a fry pan so inferior in my life. I purchased due to the ads saying nonstick, but everything you fry in it sticks. My eggs weld themselves to the bottom of the pan, making omelets is a joke. This is the most erroneous piece of advertising I have seen. They should be sued.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Gotham pans are a joke

By Doug P., Toronto, Canada, Verified Reviewer

We own two Gotham frying pans. These pans are no better than a pan with a regular surface. Food sticks to them every time we use them. Thank you for the excellent lesson in television con jobs.

Disappointed

By Elaine B., Newfoundland, Canada, Verified Reviewer

I received the pan as a Christmas gift from my son and was so pleased with its performance as indicated on TV ads that I contemplated buying the cookware set. Boy am I glad I didn't!

After a few uses food started to stick, burn, and I had to scrape off the food using a wooden utensil and soak overnight to get it usable again. I have read numerous reviews, and it appears the product performance is consistent with my experience. Lifetime warranty indicates return at your expense to the company for a replacement. Buy the time I incur the costs of return, it will exceed the purchase price of the pan.

So buyers beware and really read reviews before you purchase this product to avoid disappointment and costs if you choose to return. Too bad this happened as I did like using the pan at the beginning, now it is just like an overpriced regular pan added to my collection!

Great if you don’t mind being burned

By Marlaina R., Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Verified Reviewer

The pots and pans themselves work great; they don’t stick and wash easy, HOWEVER, just boiling water on the stove ALL handles get to the temperature of the pot - the lids, pot handles, all of it, I burned my hand lifting the lid to stir my pasta. We had gotten rid of our other pots and pans from being uneven and one thing I never had to worry about was burning my hand or my kids burning themselves when lifting a lid or the pots themselves. With these pots, I expected ALL handles to at least be a good grade not to get hot and dangerous.

Buy locally

By Kristin B., Canton, GA, Verified Reviewer

As pans go, these aren't bad. The handles are a little sharp and you have to be very careful not to scorch them. If you have the money, I would invest in All-Clad and/or Calphalon. I have been cooking a long time and reach for All-Clad the most often. The Gotham soup pot is the most handy. I give the pans a three, with five being the best.

All that being said, they must have the worst customer service I have ever dealt with and I give them less than zero. Long story short, I spent hours on the phone, was told something different each time, was told to mail my pan to the wrong address, and on and on.

This was all to get a small skillet replaced. I could have bought the pan locally for $20.00. I eventually did get a new pan. But it wasn't worth the trouble.

And then they started billing my credit card. I had to get my bank involved. Like I said, I give customer service less than zero.

If you decide to buy, I would buy locally.

Pan

By Clifford M., Atlanta, GA, Verified Reviewer

I have purchased the pan at a nearby outlet, non-stick. This is a scam, everything sticks. The operator must use oil. The food product will stick. This purchase was a waste of money.

So very disappointed. After the first few uses, EVERYTHING sticks! No different than every other non-stick.

This is the worst pan I ever got at Walmart

By James R., Lake Havasu City, AZ, Verified Reviewer

Food didn't stick at first, then it started little by little. It got to where everything sticks. I'm the only one that used it and only used wood or plastic to cook with it, but now I have to let it sit overnight with soap and water in it to clean it, so now I only use a sponge to clean it. I know this is a waste of time because they don't care because they got the money for it and they will get other to buy their pans. As I remember it said it had a lifetime warranty but I can't find where to get the warranty for the pan.

Not as advertised

By Mary H., Amherst, Nova Scotia, Canada, Verified Reviewer

We purchased two of those pans. They worked well for a couple of weeks, then all the food started sticking to the bottom. They are now impossible to clean, and everything sticks. They are burnt and black spotted. We would like to have them replaced, but will not waste money to buy more.

According to the bad reviews these pans are getting, they are not even close to being as good as the company makes them out to be.

The pan sticks after a short use

By Margaret D., New Brunswick, Canada, Verified Reviewer

I bought a Gotham Steel Pan and it was great in the beginning, but after about two weeks of use is when foods started to stick on the bottom of it. I’m very unsatisfied with this pan. The advertising is faulty and is very exaggerated. Maybe I bought a defective one. Thank you.

Pan sticks

By AJ S., Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, Verified Reviewer

I purchased the pan about three months ago and have decided the commercials aren't truthful. Everything sticks to them when cooking; eggs, meat, you name it, they all stick to the bottom. Cleaning them isn't a breeze either.

I would not recommend buying because in a very short time you will be disappointed.
