It helps to know how to cook

By James Landrum, Verified Reviewer

I was skeptical, but when I saw the option of a large square pan (plus a steaming tray and deep fry bin, which will seldom be used quite frankly) I figured it'd be worth getting. I originally went to get a $200 set of pans that were on sale for $80 but left with this instead. Immediately, no regrets.

I haven't actually watched the commercials or knew much about them, the commercials would play at my gym but I seldom actually engaged them, only taking away that they are implied to be very non-stick. On that front, I'd say it's a huge success, surviving a session of cooking rice where I became distracted and forgot to refill the water. The thick layer of burned minerals wiped clean with a damp paper towel with utmost ease.

It does indeed take an understanding of cooking on more than a fundamental level, however, food WILL stick to this pan upon contact. I don't think you can throw a chicken breast on it and it slides around on the inside, but that will happen with even the most expensive professional grade nonstick cookware, even with a gracious amount of oil. Once cooked, however, you'll find nothing remains stuck.

As far as versatility, this cookware can do a lot, especially the square pan. It'll make for fantastic lasagna, stir fry, chicken, and rice, and making an entire breakfast in one pan is a breeze. It handles popcorn even!

The other Gotham Steel pans likely won't be as versatile as the square one, but given the promises from the box, it holds true and has become the only pan I use as a result.

Love them!

By Ruthann Rickert, Rising Sun, MD, Verified Reviewer

I have several of the Gotham Steel Pans and use them almost daily. Eggs cook without oil and slide right out of the pan. What I like best is cooking meat. Start them to brown on the stovetop and then using the same pan I finish my steaks, chops, or fish in the oven. They will come out of the even evenly brown and delicious. I really have no complaints. Washing them is a breeze!

Fabulous results - but you have to follow instructions!

By Kathleen H., California, Verified Reviewer

I bought the 9-inch skillet on a whim and liked it so much, just bought the entire cooking set! A lot of people giving the pan a negative review probably didn't follow instructions. Never use non-stick cooking spray. Why would you want to anyway, it's a non-stick pan? The directions say never use cooking spray or you will ruin the finish. I've used butter, olive oil, canola oil, peanut oil, avocado oil or nothing, and gotten fabulous results each time. I make omelets and never have to worry about cheese sticking. I fry up sausages using just a little bit of water, and the pan wipes perfectly clean each time. I'm hoping to use my new non-stick pot for making homemade macaroni and cheese, and candy. You can melt anything on this surface, and it does not stick, but again do not use non-stick cooking spray. It binds to the surface and ruins it. I've also heard never put these pans in the dishwasher and do not heat above 450 degrees and you should be fine!

Love it

By Paul R., Amherstburg, Ontario, Canada, Verified Reviewer

We have a 9-inch pan that we have been using since Gotham was introduced. It has not warped and nothing has ever stuck. We do use a bit of canola oil on it, there is never a need to put it in the dishwasher because it is so easy to clean up. We never use this pan or any non-stick pan on high heat as this will warp them. A damp paper towel is all that is required for clean up. It is far better than any other non-stick pan we have ever had, we simply love it. Common sense people.

Great pan

By Coco C., Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Verified Reviewer

We've had our 9-inch round pan for around a year and use it very often. We use a bit of oil, and it works great, never sticks, and no scratch even though sometimes we use metal utensils. We even put it in the oven occasionally. It's very easy to clean, and still looks brand new. We bought it from Walmart.

Love my pans

By Kat P., Alberta, Canada, Verified Reviewer

I love my pans! Easy cleanup, no stick, and dishwasher safe. Cooks food to perfection. I just love them. I use them every day. Also bought these pans as gifts for other people. I definitely tell everyone about these pans. Only thing is, why can't we not get the two for one price in Canada and also the pot set?

Best cookware

By Michael K., Wyoming, Verified Reviewer

These pans are absolutely my favorite. I only bought one and have used it for six months, and I am so happy that I’m going to purchase a full set. Donate my old ones to the food basket. I can literally use this one pan multiple times cooking a meal quickly and perfect temp across the entire surface, clean in seconds and back on the stove for the next portion. Awesome!

Burnt on remains

By Kathleen H., Indiana, Verified Reviewer

I was cooking hamburger on high and during this time my mom was getting into trouble, so I had to go fix things. When I got back the hamburger was blacken and the pan was smoking. So I dumped the hamburgers and after lunch, I washed dishes. The burnt pan would not get clean. After two days of soaking it in hot water and dawn, I decide to put it on the stove and with butter, wet cloth and stove on, I started washing it and the burnt area got cleaned and looks like new. I will coat the pan again before I use it again.

Surprised by all the negative reviews

By Christina J., Florida, Verified Reviewer

I have had the full set for a few years now and I absolutely love them! I come from a family of chefs and we have always had top-of-the-line cookware. So when my husband gave these to me I was like "You're kidding, right?" (in my head...LOL...of course I was grateful to him.) But over the past two years, I have found I use them more than my pieces five times the price! Do some things stick? A little. You'd be naive to thing that NOTHING will stick, but I get a nice even cook and the pans heat up nicely and the clean up really IS easier. I still use a little butter/oil when I want to make sure something doesn't stick - but usually just a fraction of what I would use in other pans. But take eggs, for instance. One a TINY piece of butter before the first omelet goes in and I can cook 4 more omelets without ever having to put more in.

Started with one pan

By Melvin A., British Columbia, Canada, Verified Reviewer

I started with one pan being curious because never found a real stick-free pan that hasn't broken down at some point after a short time.

After 1 year I invested in 2 more pans of different sizes and love them, then I found the Ultimate Egg 4" size pans idea for my wife and I for breakfast eggs of all types.

TOTALLY GOT MY VOTE. Perfect 10's. Wish I could get lids for some of the pans though.

Great products

By Anita M., Guthrie, OK, Verified Reviewer

I have nothing to say but great abut Gotham Steel skillets. I have the secret to the non stick. Always heat skillet in low, cook on low, and wash skillet as soon as you take it off the heat. I am 76 and can hardly stand to rinse dishes for dish washer, to be able to just basically rinse the skillet is a life saver to me and my husband who gets to wash the pans and I do the dishes. If I could afford it, I would purchase the entire set.

Keep the cookware coming...
