Not worth as advertised. Garbage!

By Sameer Nagpal, Vancouver, BC, Verified Reviewer

Do not go by the ad on TV. This product is not worth it. In fact, order nothing from any of these TV ads.

First of all, if you call the number to order, you are talking to a machine and the machine will not understand anything what you order. So, you will end up getting a different order count from what you order.

Secondly, if you want to dispute and call the customer care number, they cannot help with anything, so either you accept the delivery or refuse.

Thirdly, if you choose to accept, the product does not perform as per advertised. Everything sticks to this pan. It's a garbage.

Fourth, if you choose to refuse the delivery, because the order is different than what you ordered (no fault of yours), they will still deduct the shipping.

Overall this product is a waste of your hard earned money. If you still want to try, you can buy at the local store and still return it for no deduction. Choose wisely.

Gotham Steel Pan

By Valerie, Massachusetts, Verified Reviewer

I am sorry to say that I had the most horrific experience with the Gotham Steel Pan. Although, I found items to burn and stick and required scraping when using no fat, that is not my issue.

After about 15 uses, a rivet exploded off the pan. It was the equivalent of a bomb. I am not exaggerating in the least. I had no idea what had happened, but knew that something whooshed by me. The noise was so loud that I had to check to see if my stove exploded as I was unsure of what happened. My ears were not right for the whole day. I seriously wondered if my eardrum was punctured. I had ringing in the ear until the next day. Finally, I connected the dots and found the rivet from the handle had blown across the room. It is the closest thing I can imagine to a gun shot.

I am not sure how the company will handle this and I am mostly wanting to warn other consumers. Had this hit me in the eye, or even worse, if my grandchildren were there, I shudder to think what could have occurred.

I called the Consumer Protection Agency and asked how they handle an occurrence of this nature. They will have me filled out forms and collect the data and if enough complaints happen, then action would be taken. If one person loses an eye, that is one too many.

I have been cooking for 40 years and still have some of the same pans. NEVER have I had to worry about a rivet blowing off of the pan.

I can only say, be very careful if you choose to use this item. I will contact the company, who has a lot of litigation rules in their flyer saying, “You waive the right to…”, but honestly my true concern is safety.

Caution. Don't be fooled.

By Molly Roth, San Clemente, CA, Verified Reviewer

Ordered 3 qt. pot and lid. When I washed it, a copper chip fell out of the pot. I tried for days to contact Gotham. After a week of calling and emailing, I finally reached a company rep to find out that I had to send the pot back with a check for $9.95, a processing fee. The pot cost $39.95 plus shipping. After the cost of a box and mailing, it'll be a wash money-wise. No more Gotham for me.

Non-stick my ass!

By Allen Boehnlein, Granger, Indiana, Verified Reviewer

I ordered this product because our current frying pan needed replacing and it sounded like this would be a great replacement. Unfortunately everything sticks to it. We tried to make eggs and omelets with terrible results. I am returning mine today! Based upon my experience these do not work as advertised.

Save your money!

By John, San Antonio, TX, Verified Reviewer

I started out liking the pan. It stopped working and now there is a black burnt spot and food stick all the time. I called the company and they told me that I must have used butter or cooking oil in the pan. They said that the pan won't work if butter is used. What? Certain cheeses also stick to the pan and need to be chiseled off.

Company not willing to stand behind the product during their 90 day return period.

Stay away, far away!

Not as seen on TV

By D. J. Robinson, Richmond, VA, Verified Reviewer

This item does not work as seen on TV. I scrambled some eggs in the 9.5 inch pan, and they stuck. The young lady I spoke to in customer service informed me that I should not have used non stick spray on this non stick pan and my warranty was voided. I WOULD NOT recommend this to anyone. Save your money.

This pan is a scam. Ripped off again?

By Ronald Wolf, Michigan, Verified Reviewer

No instructions on how to season or oil because it does not need anything? That should have been the first red flag.

The second flag the so called guarantee where you must pay postage and insurance to return the pan. That would be over ten dollars and I bought this pan at Bed Bath and Beyond with a twenty percent off coupon so it costs me about fifteen dollars.

I put it on low heat on my electric stove and tried to fry an egg. All I got was a blackened mess the first time I used it. I could have bought a better quality name brand for this money.

Everything they claim this pan does is a lie. First and foremost, it is not the non stick pan they claim it is.

Don't buy this frying pan

By Anne Mclaren, Verified Reviewer

I purchased this pan a few months ago, it does not cook like a non stick pan, everything has struck to it. Fried eggs with or without oil get ruined. Fried fish on a low heat, oil or no oil, it gets ruined. I think getting back to Global Shop direct will give me the run around and be a waste of my time.

Their Euro bed was also a disaster too. I give it zero rating but this site requires me choosing a star.

What a SCAM

By Alan Manisco, Key Largo, FL, Verified Reviewer

Nonstick my butt. I cooked 4 eggs the 1st time using them. Didn't use any spray or butter or oil. NOTHING. I had to scrape the eggs out of the pan. Nonstick? The next time I used spray and it was fine. But on all my other pans, if I sprayed them 1st, they were fine too. So why should I pay a price for these when they are not any better than any other pan? Save your money. What a joke. Another TV SCAM.

Another Overhyped Rip-off

By Rick, Rochester, NY, Verified Reviewer

First of all, they advertise the pan to be 9 1/2" in diameter. It isn't. It's 9 3/8" and they know it, so why the lie?

Secondly and mainly: During about a month of light usage, the pan worked as advertised but then food began to stick to the bottom after each use. Now it's just another fry pan that has food stuck to the bottom of. Every one of these lying pricks should be nailed in a class action lawsuit.

Let's see if you post this one. I'm betting that you won't.
