I wanted these to work

By Lisa Ann, Washington DC, Verified Reviewer

I think this is a great idea, but I have very dry eyes which have come from years of wearing lenses. I have tried several different daily lenses and finally found one that works. I still get some dryness, but they are wearable. The Hubble Contacts dried out very quickly for me. I could only wear them for four hours tops before they became so dry that I started to have vision problems and it hurt. I wear my others for 10 hours a day.

I think they are good for people that do not have issues with dry eyes. I also did not like that while I could sign up easy peasy I had to call them and wait on hold to cancel. You should be able to cancel online. I would recommend that everyone give it a try though, what do you have to lose? They may work for you.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Can't wear them

By Robin J McKelvie, Smithfield, VA, Verified Reviewer

Got my free two-week supply. Was so excited, but when I put them in, everything was so blurry I couldn't see. How can I return them?

Not sure what happened. I put the power strength that was on my prescription.

Not good quality

By Jessica Richens, Brea, CA, Verified Reviewer

I have been paying $60 for a month's supply of daily contacts at my optometrist, which is well worth it. When I heard of Hubble, I was so excited to cut that expense in half, and I only saw amazing reviews saying how the quality is still amazing. I did the two-week trial and was very disappointed. These are not the same quality as the $60 ones. I couldn't see far at night, and my prescription is only -1.75. I wish there were more truthful reviews about how these are not the same quality as the One a Day Dailies.

Bad experience, poor customer service

By Matthew Hardin, California, Verified Reviewer

I placed an order with Hubble, not realizing they didn't support toric lenses (wasn't disclosed anywhere when placing my order). I emailed them after realizing this through some Google searching and requested to cancel my order. I was directed to call a call center in order to cancel it, which is a red flag whenever a company makes it hard to cancel a membership.

I call the call center, and the audio quality was terrible, and the representative didn't speak English well. I had a really hard time understanding the rep and communicating effectively with her. She also said it was impossible to refund my order because my order already shipped out, even though it hadn't shipped out at that point.

Really negative experience and there is no way I'll be giving business to them again.

Uncomfortable

By Andrew Brennan, Lexington, KY, Verified Reviewer

I love the idea of Hubble, but in practice, for me anyway, it doesn't work out so well. About 50 perfect of their contacts I insert into my eye are uncomfortable and usually stay uncomfortable throughout the day. Even after washing my face, rinsing my eyes, and washing the contacts themselves, I still experience constant discomfort as though there are crumbs in my eye or the contacts don't fit right. Rumor is they use outdated contacts technology from the 90s, which is how they manage to keep prices down.

Not worth it

By Navia Nicole Lilly, Lexington, KY, Verified Reviewer

Well, first of all, it took them over a week to send a confirmation email saying it had been shipped. There is no way of contacting them besides via email. Once I did get the confrontation, it did come within that week. Once I got them and tried them on, they weren't the most comfortable. I'm guessing the lenses were too big for my eyes because I kept feeling itchy right under my eye lid and they dry out super quickly. I normally have a 12 hour day and I have to take them out mid day.

Lastly, you are charged $33 a month automatically without being told. And that is not cheaper by any means. I can get top name brand contacts (Acuvue Oasis) for $200 for a year's supply. Theirs will add up to be almost $400 a year. I'm not saying to not buy this product, but just know it's not what you think.

Not worth it!

By Mariah, Utah, Verified Reviewer

My free trial of 15 pairs consisted of five pairs that were VERY uncomfortable to wear. I check each lens before I put them in to make sure they are not flipped inside out, so that was not the problem. Because of this, I decided to cancel my subscription, but due to their policy of calling to cancel, I kept putting it off and skipped a few deliveries instead to give me more time to call and cancel.

Well, today I received my first month of full price contacts (even though I skipped all of August deliveries) so I immediately called and asked for a refund, and to cancel my subscription. They charge you for return shipping AND a restocking fee.

In my opinion, it's not worth it.

Uncomfortable

By Kelly Moore, New York City, NY, Verified Reviewer

I had no problem with the service received from Hubble. They filled my trial-order very quickly, and I just called to cancel and had no trouble (although I do think it is inconvenient that one must call to cancel instead of just doing it over the website).

But, I found the contacts to be uncomfortable. Really uncomfortable. I'm not sure if it is because the base curve is different from what I'm used to or what. They just don't work for me. My eyes also feel really dry. I'm taking them out and going back to my Acuvue Oasys.

Not very good

By Shalonda Linnear, Shreveport, LA, Verified Reviewer

I've been wearing Hubble Contacts for almost two months now. The contacts are not consistent. I've had to open two pairs frequently because when I open one pack the contacts are hard or have irritated my eyes, and I do not have overly sensitive eyes or allergies. I tried using an eyes solution to clean to see if this helps and sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. I work in an environment where I have to wear contacts for an extended period of time and I can't wear these because they dry my eyes out tremendously. I've tried to make them work, but it just didn't work out for me.

Uncomfortable the minute you put them in!

By Andrea Sierra, Ontario, Canada, Verified Reviewer

I've been wearing contacts for over 10 years now. I've tried so many brands and types of contacts, dailies, bi-weekly, monthly.

I ordered the free trial of these to try them out. Honestly, so uncomfortable from the minute you put them in. Within an hour, they were dry and I had to keep reapplying eyedrops to keeps my eyes hydrated. I tried them out for a week and a half. Will not be ordering again.

Such a waste of money

By Samantha, Iowa, Verified Reviewer

I've worn contacts for about 10 years and have previously always gone for the month-long lenses. However, as a college student, dropping $150-$250 at a time at my vision center for a year supply (not including the yearly eye exam costs for a valid prescription) doesn't always seem very practical for my budget. So, I was in need of a "cheaper" alternative and recognized Hubble as "that one company that always has those TV ads for cheap daily contacts." I really liked the concept of a subscription-based contact lens service because presumably, you spend way less at one time than you would have to spend with other options, so I decided to give it a shot.

First of all, Hubble Contacts are NOT cheaper than regular contact lenses, assuming you want the cheapest option available for lenses. Hubble will cost you around $35 per month (including shipping fees). 35 x 12 = $420 per year. After I did more research, I have definitely managed to find sites that sell some month-long contact lenses for the SAME price as Hubble even on a monthly basis, and that's for 2 boxes of 6 (for left and right eye). That means if you use Hubble you are spending roughly the same amount on lenses for a ONE-month supply that you could be spending for a SIX-month supply if you chose monthly lenses (depending on the brand of course). That fact alone should repel you from paying for this total scam of a subscription service, especially since the whole concept is centered around "contacts are too expensive and we are the solution." But wait! There's more!

These are SO uncomfortable. When they came in the mail and I put them in my eyes for the first time, I literally couldn't tell if they were inside-out or if I had received the wrong prescription or something because they were so dry and blurry right after putting them in. They feel exactly like what 2-week lenses feel like if you were to use the same pair every day for 3 months. If you rub your eye, they fall right out. If you keep your eyes open without blinking for 5 seconds, they go blurry. There's no way I can wear these lenses for more than 4 hours max.

Honestly, save your money and look for month-long lens options on 1-800 Contacts or Lens.com. The concept of Hubble is great, but the price and garbage quality almost couldn't be worse. The only reason I'm giving Hubble 2 stars instead of 1 is because they give you the free trial period of 15 days of lenses, you just pay the $3 for shipping. However, I want my $3 back.
