It's Just Lunch

When I first started IJL I didn't have just one matchmaker. It was a rocky start. I had Lisa G at one point and had difficulty understanding her and I just didn't connect with her. I then had other matchmakers call me.

Finally, I had consistency with Debra and she and I definitely connected! She is down to earth and has been positive about the dating experience. Her best quality is that she listens and gets to know her people! I always enjoy talking to her and she calls to follow up after every date. She has also been available at hours that are helpful to me. She has made my IJL experience well worthwhile!

I worked with Sarah V from IJL once I entered their database. I'm not currently a paying member, but I have gone on several dates with their service. I genuinely really like the service. I've always felt safe, taken care of, and I've had the dates planned and vetted before I've ever even met them.

All you really have to do is go through an interview process and background check (which makes me feel better about how they vet the men too vs. traditional dating app dating). Some of the men were duds, but Sarah is EXCELLENT at protecting me and protecting my privacy from the men I didn't like from the service.

I like that there's always a date, restaurant, time, and reservations booked prior. A lot of the back and forth/coordinating is pretty much taken care of on their end so all you really have to do is show up and have a good attitude.

The experience hasn't been great. There has been a high turnaround with the matchmakers and I hear from them off and on, always someone different. I will say the last matchmaker, Joel, has been very good with follow-ups, very professional, and did a good job with the last person he set me up with.

My experience so far has not been that great but the important thing that I find is that they are working really hard to find the members, meaning YOU, the opportunity to find the right person. It is not an easy task, I am sure.

I had a few dates, a very nice gentleman but unfortunately, I had not yet found the right chemistry.

I have another one soon and I hope this one works out. He seems like a very nice gentleman.

I have had three dates since I signed up. All three wanted to see me again, so that is a testimony to Amy. Clearly, she chose women she thought would like me and would want to see me again, and so far her success rate is 100%.

My first two dates were lunches, each one was for around 2 hours. I enjoyed meeting these two ladies. These dates were helpful in giving me a better sense of the kind of romantic companion I am hoping to find.

The third date was a dinner. I surprised myself with my reaction to when she looked at her cellphone, said I have to take this, it's my son, and she texted her son. My reaction was, this is a massive turn-off for me, no. This reaction by me surprised me.

The quality of the three dates I have had is high. All three have a good attitude, are nice, and seem gentle, which is a key thing I am looking for in a potential romantic companion.

They are not individualized matchmakers. I've spoken to 5 different "matchmakers" in 6 months, they seem to pull names out of a hat. They have no familiarity with the Los Angeles area, and they make false promises.

So far I am very happy. Responsive, proactive, and empathetic. Joel is very good. You need to remember with a service like this or any other, they cannot perform miracles. They just need to provide matches; you do the rest.

The hardest part of the online apps is actually getting a meet for coffee, lunch, dinner, etc done. These guys do this. They also make the meeting appointment for both of you and do not share any personal information with the other person.

On the online apps, you do not know if they are really who the person says they are. It's Just Lunch verifies with a driver's license that they are who they say they are. Women and men can feel safer because of this.

I am happy, you should give it a try.

I've been associated with IJL since mid-December. I was assigned Joel as my date coordinator and I've already had 2 successful dates. I find Joel to be extremely helpful, dedicated, passionate, and professional. I would highly recommend IJL and Joel to anyone who is serious about finding a companion.

I love the idea of this dating site, but it has not gone as smoothly as I had hoped. My current matchmaker is Joel. The matchmakers all seem to be very nice, knowledgeable, and willing to listen, however, I have not had one long enough to feel comfortable with or build rapport with. I think they try to find appropriate matches for their clients and I'm always looking forward to my next date. This is definitely a longer process than I thought it would be!
