Luminess Air

I was lucky enough to buy a new system at an estate sale for $10. I have to say I love the Luminess system. I purchase the make-up on eBay and pay a lot less.

I find it fast and easy, with great coverage. If my machine broke, I would definitely buy a new one on eBay. I would absolutely recommend it. I had no dealings with the company, so I have no idea about dealing with them. It's easier to buy the product on eBay.

I wanted to cancel my unknown subscription. I was told it was, yet I was charged this month for nothing. This is the worst company ever. They told me to leave my number and they would get back to me. It has been 3 days. No one actually speaks English as their first language.

In all reality, they make you pay like $150 for the machine, and the makeup comes off once you start sweating and if you're in the rain it looks like your face is melting off!

Honestly, Walmart makeup stay-on way better than this stuff, let alone they do not have your exact side they only ask if your light, medium or dark. Then they give you two bottles between whatever you picked, and the shade doesn’t match your skin tone.

Everything about Luminess is terrible. The airbrush machine is decent, but ALL the accessories are JUNK, worth pennies but they charge $40 for each foundation. The way they package their products in a box is laughable. Thrown in a box so when it arrives, it is broken, uncapped and spilled. They typically send the wrong items, wrong colors and then keep charging your credit card. Their customer service is only good to take orders. If there is an issue, all they do is pass the buck and "escalate," which never amounts to anything. The only way to get a refund is to dispute the charge.

Check BBB, pissedcustomers.com, and other sites. They have thousands of complaints.

It took me a while after I got the Luminess kit before I used it. The makeup was orange on my face. The makeup looked like something that you would use as a facial, nothing like any makeup I have ever used. Therefore I didn't use it anymore. I continue to get charged, and this week I got something in the mail that I didn't order. I refused it. They did a good job of hiding the true price of the product. These people are crooks.

I ordered my first trial kit and the make-up leaked within its packaging. This is a huge red flag and a sign of a faulty product. It took me three emails and a phone call before being told I could return the unused system and product, but at my own expense. Not regular mail, but certified mail, which will cost more than what I paid. On top of all this, there is a note inside like an IOU for a product that is out of stock...really? I also submitted pictures along with the complaint, and I still received rude and unhelpful service. Why should I have to pay to return the product that came to me as faulty?

I am 57 and wanted to use some makeup to try and find a date so I thought I would try Luminess Air. I am not all that happy with the product and even more unhappy with them double charging me. They rip people off from money and if you pay it off early, they still take their monthly payments and then some. I make less than $18,000 a year and I guess they want a third of that for the makeup air machine. So sad, I work part-time. I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau, they will not hear the end of me. Taking money out of my account that they have no right to. Do not trust what they say on the phone, they will say anything to get you off the phone. Do not become a victim as I have.

I have had the airbrush machine for a little over 4 months, making monthly payments, but I can't use the machine because every color in the make-up they send me is the wrong color. So now they want me to continue to pay for a machine that I can't use because they can't get the color right. Every color they sent me in shades 5-8 is the color orange and don't match my skin tone. At this point, I am ready to return the machine because I am no longer going to pay for it when I can't use it. After you pay off the machine they still want to debit your account claiming you are a VIP member that is why they are taking from your account...blah blah blah. I closed the account because I got tired of them stealing from me when I told them I no longer wanted this thing. I will stick to my MAC foundation.

Ok, just to tell my story! I ordered on a Friday afternoon from a TV infomercial. I received a conformation later that day saying my Air Brush system would be shipped in 2-3 weeks. They billed my card that day for $28.60. On the email was when I discovered the entire system would end up being charged to my card in three equal payments $39.95 (plus a handling fee) over the next three months! That's $150.00! And to add to that, every other month they auto-ship product at a price of $29.95 PLUS S/H. So just beware the system may be a great product, but you have no idea what it will cost you until you order.

Oh and by the way! I called on their next business day to cancel my order, and guess what? It had already been shipped (the email said it would not ship for 2-3- weeks)! Then I discovered when I received the package, it was not shipped until the day after I called to cancel! THEY LIED!

I called when I received the product and they gave a return authorization number (I waited on the line 12 minutes to obtain that number!).

Then they informed me I would have to pay for return shipping, and I never opened the package! So overall, I had to pay $11.38 to return to them! I'll be waiting to see how long it takes to get the credit on my card!

Not a very truthful company as far as I am concerned! Got to watch out for that word "TRY."

This is a rental unit! You will be signed up for monthly payments and if you are late with a payment, you will be subject to a $20 late payment, plus ALL collection fee, including without limitation, attorney fees that may result. You will also be charged a 25% re-stocking fee for the returned product, and NO REFUNDS, even if the product makes you break out. Makeup has a foul smell, and feels like plastic.

You must pay expensive shipping $15.95 to return, and they have a lot of rules you must follow to get your refund once returned. It also takes 6 to 8 weeks for a refund. What the heck? Never again. I've had the damn thing here all packed up in a box, debating whether to go through the trouble of sending it back only to be told, "it has been used so we are sorry we can't issue a refund." Negative one.
