Scam

By Glenna Palladino, Middletown, CT, Verified Reviewer

Makes you join to see any matches, and when I did try and join for one month, it would only let me join to an upgrade. Scam. Shame. Shameful even their reviews are a scam.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Bad customer service/bad site

By Rosalind W., Tulsa, OK, Verified Reviewer

I tried to upgrade my membership first on my phone and then on the website. In both cases, my card was declined. I was using a debit card and it was declined both times even though I had plenty of money on it. I even tried my PayPay account which also had plenty of money. I was only going to sign up for 30 days, but then I got an offer for a discounted 60-day membership.

After the payments were declined, I called customer service. The man I talked to said that the payment was declined because my email address was mistyped. What does that have to do with the price of tea in China? So I tried again. Still declined.

I just called again today, and the woman I spoke to wouldn't answer a simple question without my email address. All I wanted to know is, was my payment declined because I wasn't using a credit card? She offered to take my payment over the phone, but I declined because I wanted the discounted six months which the man had told me that they couldn't do over the phone. I gave her the website and she said that she still couldn't answer my question. Then I asked for her supervisor and she said that without my email address she couldn't transfer me to her supervisor.

This whole thing seems like a scam, or something, to me if they can't answer my simple question or transfer me to a supervisor without my email address. I would not recommend this site to anyone.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Terrible screwed-up site

By Dana A., Pueblo, CO, Verified Reviewer

I have been a member of OurTime for about 4 months with a paid subscription. My profile is constantly hacked. I call about the problem multiple times and they keep telling me to change password. I keep doing that and the hacking continues. Some change my profile and shotgun the country with messages. I paid good money and the site is worthless for me. I can't even use it because of the constant hacking. OurTime is the only site with this problem. They need to fix their cybersecurity. Don't use it. It's worthless. I've heard of others with the same problem. Stay away from OurTime...

Advertising ads on a dating website you are paying for!

By LSamson, New Mexico, Verified Reviewer

Personally, I did not have a positive experience on this site. This was mainly due to heavy advertising ads on my personal home page of OurTime. I have been on several dating websites that are fantastic, and have no advertising! I can understand that free dating sites use marketing ads, but when you are paying (OurTime is not free), then having to put up with advertising ads is just tacky.

Because of this, I only visited the OurTime website a few times and ended up wasting a bunch of money. I do not recommend it.

Using your profile as prop

By Dana, Orlando, FL, Verified Reviewer

I filled out the info to join but did not pay right away (I did about three weeks later).

Note to everybody that you need to check your profile on a laptop/conventional computer because you will discover a lot of things that can’t be seen (or missed) on a smartphone.

I discovered in my laptop that the whole three weeks I wasn’t a paying member, they would send flirts, and auto-generated messages and claim that I had put people as ‘favorites’ when I had never done those things. Just clicking ‘yes’ I might be interested in a profile generated all these false messages sent to the other person.

Those messages triggered an email sent to that person to entice them to join (if not already members). So imagine these guys thinking someone is interested but it’s the company, not the actual member that sent those messages! Talk about robbing not only money, but playing with peoples emotions.

I am glad I joined at a super big discount price because I would be very upset otherwise.

I changed all my profile info into idiotic answers because I eventually will not trust a single response I get from anyone from that site since I will not know if it was sent from a legitimate person interested or was generated from the company’s computer. What a scam!

Disappointed

By Cindy G., Pensacola, FL, Verified Reviewer

For the hype about this site as well as the cost, I expected better than I received. I believe this site to be extremely flawed. Seriously, most of the profile pics only showed eyebrows and above! I received more messages from another site and could actually see their entire face.

Don't waste your time or money

By Cindy Hamilton, Georgia, Verified Reviewer

I signed up for a one-month membership. But, experience taught me to check my account settings first. Sure enough, it was set up for auto-renewal. That alone pissed me off. And then come the scammers, creeps, and weirdos from all over the country! I could tell they hadn't read one word of my profile. Now come the requests for your private email. Yeah, right! I deleted my profile and gave them a big, fat, resounding "NO."

I would NEVER recommend their site! I also took pictures of my account screen showing I WAS NOT signed up for auto-renewal. Did the same showing that I deleted my account. Stay away, ladies, nothing but trouble awaits.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Scam after scam.

By Susan C., Hilton Head, SC, Verified Reviewer

The men are not who they say they are, e.g. the pictures. They are looking for women with money, gold diggers, they seem to have accents so even though they say they live in your area, they don’t. Lots are in it to just get laid and if you are lucky to find one you are attracted to, he will ghost you right after he got you.

Scam after scam.

Mostly the pictures of them aren’t them so beware and don’t join, and hopefully, a friend will introduce you to a nice person.

This site is a scam...I will not renew

By Sandra B., Nashville, TN, Verified Reviewer

The site makes you view pictures and then reports to the subscriber that you viewed their picture. Simply awful.

When people you are not interested in write a message and you want it to go away, the site keeps sending it...UGH.

Most disturbing is people 5-600 miles away are included...no option to choose a location. Awful.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Complete cesspool

By Peter N., Chelmsford, MA, Verified Reviewer

95% of the messages and "flirts" I received were obvious scammers - distant states, 60-year-olds with photos of 25-year-olds, embedded phone numbers or email address, the exact same text as other messages, etc.

The other 5% MAY have been legit - because they weren't young and beautiful or filled with nonsensical profile text out of a romance novel, but based on all the obvious scammers they might just be better-designed scams.

I would suggest that anyone considering OurTime run, don't walk, in the opposite direction!

Every SINGLE time I log in, it makes me change my password

By Carol C., New Jersey, Verified Reviewer

I find it extremely aggravating that every SINGLE time I go to log in, and I mean every time, it says it doesn't recognize my email and password. So I have to keep changing my passwords. So I have to keep a log because it won't let you reuse an old password and I've gone through so many. I tried changing browsers, no help. The site itself is decent. I had no luck getting guys to respond on Match at all and I consider myself a decent looking 64-year-old woman. Although Match does provide more detail in the profile, which I like.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend
