Chenell was extremely friendly and genuine!

So originally I went to an appointment with Candid clear aligners but did not feel comfortable with their hyped-up promises and their messy office space, so I made an appointment with SmileDirect and immediately felt a lot more comfortable and confident from the way they conduct themselves, and their clean and organized office. So far I have had a great experience. Chenell made a fantastic first impression, I just pray that it continues to stay that way throughout my entire Smile journey! Not a huge deal but after I left I realized I was supposed to have been given a $25 gift card for Amazon, however, I did not receive one.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Amazing

I had my 3D scan today, it was super easy, quick, comfortable and fun. I had Tara helping me out in the room and Nicole helping out with payment plans afterwards. They were both amazing and funny! They answered any and all questions I had and got me pretty excited about my new smile. Thank you for making my first experience with SmileDirectClub perfect.

Very worried

I’m very concerned about this whole process now. I’m on my third week on my aligners. My first box came in December but they didn’t fit properly and cut all my mouth open. Customer Service persuaded me several times to trim them down and keep trying but eventually, I stood firm and made an appointment under a new email with the 3d clinic (since no one had offered me that yet). I went to see them and took my ill-fitting aligners and got a scan and they ordered me new ones. The replacement set took 6 weeks to arrive. Very disappointing.

I’ve noticed the first few aligners were nicely trimmed down but the rest are not and have quite a few rough edges. So that’s going to take some fiddling with to remove so that I don’t make my tongue and mouth sore.

I also want to point out that at NO POINT has anyone asked me if I have seen a dentist or anything. Thankfully I have and do see a regular dentist but I didn’t tell him about SmileDirect as I hadn’t planned to when I last saw him. I’m concerned he’s not going to be happy that I haven’t been to a proper orthodontist. Since I’ve seen the report on NBC. The SmileDirect spokeswoman didn’t fill me with confidence whatsoever. In fact, she was positively shifty and had no people skills.

I’ve had my new set less than 30 days. I’m tempted to request a refund!

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Terrible experience - not worth the money

The company sent me an aligner meant for someone else and kept telling me to make it work. It was impossible to get responses - the customer service is awful. I finally told them to cancel my plan and refund my money - then I got a response that they realized I had been sent the wrong aligner (duh) and would need to restart the whole process (doing impressions again - nightmare). I replied that I already canceled and was waiting for a refund...still waiting for that refund.

Not worth the money or hassle at all.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I wish this was a good review...but it is not

One day, I stumbled upon a Groupon for a set amount off of the Smile impression kit sent to you. The Groupon seemed like a good deal and the company, in May of 2017, was fairly new so I couldn’t see any negative reviews of it. I was excited and happily purchased! As someone who had braces and didn’t keep up with the retainer, I was excited to straighten my teeth for a lot less than an orthodontist would charge me.

Around July 4, 2017, while on vacation, I received my Smile Plan and didn’t have a chance to approve it before I was told the aligners were "cooking" and then on the way. Based on the Smile plan I was sent, I would have approved it. On July 27th, I received my box. I excitedly put them in and began my journey. By December 2017, I knew something was right but my repeated request for mid-course corrections was denied. I tried multiple times.

Ultimately, I finished my plan as I was told I had to do first. As I told them, something wasn’t right. They agreed and said we could do refinements. Fine. Smile kit sent to me again and my new Smile plan looked identical to my first one, which was odd as my teeth had tracked differently. The refinements arrived and they didn’t feel right. I reached out and was immediately told it was normal. Then the excruciating headaches every single day began. My bite starting feeling horrible. I reached out, again, and was told they agreed - something was not right. I was sent yet another impression kit and then 6 weeks later, new refinements. These didn’t even look like my teeth.

After being in touch with clinical care coordinators, they agreed this wasn’t going to work but only offered me a tiny discount which left me with a $400 balance. That would be the last time SmileDirect ever reached out to me aside from an email one time, stating they would be sending me to a debt collector. I went to an actual orthodontist who was able to compare my pre x-rays from my dentist to mine now...I had developed a crossbite now and other issues.

$4800 later, I had 9 months of traditional braces with rubber bands for 12 weeks and I now have a fixed bite and beautiful smile. I really wish SmileDirect had worked for me but it simply didn’t and created a lot of issues.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Horrible

This company is awful. I sent my box back the day after I received it in the mail. These aligners are junk. Correspondence with the company is horrible. You get passed from one rep to the next, and they all say to wait "3-5 business days." That’s their response for everything. It’s unsafe, and mass-produced. They don’t care about your health, just your money. They "made me smile" when I finally got my refund after a month of calling every single day. DO NOT USE SDC.

I was always afraid to go to the dentist, BUT this time is very different. Lecille greeted me very nicely, it made me feel comfortable. She introduced every step clearly. After all the procedures, she gave me nice gifts. I am really looking forward to this 6 months journey. Everything was great today. Nice people and perfect location. Lecille is the best!
