Bottom of pan warped badly

By Dean G., Lecompte, LA, Verified Reviewer

I needed a pan to fry venison steaks without sticking. I thought I'd found the perfect pan until the bottom warped so badly until it won't sit on the glass cooktop without wobbling. It also began to stick after this; I wouldn't buy another. Furthermore, this happened after the 90-day warranty expired.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Very disappointed

By Arlene K., New Jersey, Verified Reviewer

I bought these pans at BJ's Wholesale Club since I thought that it was a great price. They are not what the infomercial says. You have to use oil or butter, otherwise everything sticks. When I called the company and complained they said I could send them back for a replacement, but I would have to pay for the shipping. And they really weren't very apologetic about it at all.

9 inch pan sale

By Harold S., Arizona, Verified Reviewer

This product is a sham. Shame on these people. I used it for a month, and it worked fine. Since I cook hash browns and they stick and burn, you have to use a wire brush to get it out of the pan. I also have cut marks in the pan, which is not supposed to happen, what a joke. This is false advertising at its best. My next step is to contact Fox News, etc. to show this product to be a joke.

About pan

By Khalid Z., Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Verified Reviewer

It is a waste of money to buy such crap. The makers are liars, they should be convicted and sent to jail. Please do not buy this crap, don't get fooled looking at the TV advertisement. People should complain to the Better Business Bureau.

Absolute garbage

By Kenneth P., Florida, Verified Reviewer

These pans are junk! They do not distribute the heat evenly. I turned up the heat to sear my scallops and the pan warped.

I used it a total of five times and threw it in the trash!

All hype

By Pauline C., Forsyth, MO, Verified Reviewer

When I first received my Gotham Steel skillet, I was elated. It was pretty easy to clean with just a paper towel. A little harder to clean on the inside where the handle attached. We use it basically for cooking eggs, mainly scrambled, although I have cooked steak and hamburger. That is about it. I have only had it about five months, and it is all scratched up on the bottom, and I can no longer clean it without immersing in soap and water. I would rate it a two at best. I loved it for the first month, but all downhill after that.

Pans that suck, not non-stick

By Nicole P., Texas, Verified Reviewer

This is the biggest scam of the century! I was told that this is a non-stick surface pan and it was purchased for me since I seem to burn everything I attempt to cook. Lies, lies, lies. Do not waste your money on this item. I have done EVERYTHING stated in the directions with three of these products and I always get the same result. EVERYTHING STICKS. With or without butter, oil, etc.

And as far as washing clean, LOL, not happening here. The non-stick surface has a black resin that will not come off! Even after scrubbing the dang thing a billion times. If anyone else has this problem and has not complained, well that would be a fricken miracle. Thank you.

Worst pan ever!

By Joyce S., Georgia, Verified Reviewer

I bought the larger 12" Gotham Steel Pan. It worked beautifully FOR ABOUT A MONTH. Then, with daily use, everything started to stick to it. I never used EVOO or any "spray" oils because those WILL ruin a nonstick surface. I also never used it on any higher heat than MEDIUM because high heat will ruin a nonstick finish. I never used metal utensils so all precautions were made even though they advertise you can use a hand mixer in it.

A few weeks after it started sticking, EVERYTHING stuck and had to be scraped off, so I had to keep soaking it in water. I even tried using Bar Keepers Friend to clean it, but it didn't help.

Since I was ready to throw the pan out, I decided to try using a metal spatula - YES, it most certainly scratched the pan! That was it - the pan went into the trash!

Don't be fooled by their advertisement! The pan is no better than any other non-stick pan. The more you use it, the more it STOPS being non-stick!

Garbage

By Cassandra P., British Columbia, Canada, Verified Reviewer

We purchased two pans and loved them at first. After several uses, they stick so bad it's ridiculous. Cleaning is a nightmare. I soak and scrub and then soak some more. Everything sticks. I do not use these pans unless I have to. I will never purchase them again.

The worse pan I ever had

By Alain V., Québec, Canada, Verified Reviewer

I just bought it at Walmart to try right away, and it gets sticky, I try the hamburger, and the same problem.

Why? It was made cheap by a China company, they copy everything, the look is nice, but nothing inside.

So please, do not buy Gotham Steel Pans or any product made in China, unless you know the product.

They are NOT a safe site.

By M P., Mesa, AZ, Verified Reviewer

I like the pan. I really do. Shortly (three weeks) after receiving it, I'm getting an email every other day that look exactly like the below, sent from billing@autobillpayer.com:

Subject: GOTHAM STEEL COOKWAR - File # xxxxxxxx (obscured for privacy just in case)

Body:

Dear xxxxxxxx xxxxxxxx,

Please call 8664414731 regarding the GOTHAM STEEL COOKWAR you received on 05/27/2018. This is a toll free number for your convenience as this e-mail domain does not accept response e-mails. Your file number is xxxxxxxx.

Sincerely,

Billing Department

The number seems to go to some place that doesn't identify themselves, just says "Thank you for calling, we are closed. Please call back during our normal business hours of 8 am to 9 pm."

Uh, it's 7 pm Eastern right now. I tried to find the number, and I found a BBB Report for AB ROCKET listing this number.

My bottom line is: Gotham Steel is NOT secure. My information, including my name, has been stolen or sold to some hackers. The email looks like a Nigerian bank scam. It isn't legit. The email address isn't them, obviously. But they have my full name. The "File Number" they reference isn't anything to do with my order number.

Second bottom line: DO NOT do business with this company if you value your security!
