Sticking food

By Wilfred Rock, Reading, PA, Verified Reviewer

The pan does not do as it looks on TV. Food sticks to the pan, even if I use oil or spray. Eggs do not slide around as on TV, and it cannot be cleaned by just wiping a cloth over it. I must use a scrub pad to clean food sticking to it.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Gotham Steel rip-off

By Martel, Harrisburg, Arkansas, Verified Reviewer

I purchased this pan from our local Freds here in Arkansas. I have used it twice, and everything sticks to the pan. In my opinion, this is a bonafide rip-off. I have called our (Arkansas) attorney general to see if he/she can have this product banned. I took this back to Freds, and I got my money back and was told that they have had several to return this pan. There is no sense in allowing this rip-off to happen.

The statement is false

By Francisco Salazar, Florida, Verified Reviewer

It works perfect for some days, but after that time it becomes worse that the cheaper ones. I used it to make scrambled eggs twice a week. I have been used for about four months, and now the eggs get stuck to the center bottom worse than the regular pots.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Bad pan

By John Newton, Ontario, Canada, Verified Reviewer

I bought a 12-inch pan, and like just about everyone else, I thought I could eat smarter with less oil. First, almost everything sticks to the surface and secondly, it warped the first time I used it and will not sit level on my stove. Waste of money.

Poor customer service

By Wesley Capan, Springfield, MO, Verified Reviewer

After finally buying these pans, I was excited. I used the frying pan for about ten times. The first time there was no stick. The second time, everything sticks. I warmed the pan and used near room temperature foods.

I called customer service, and I was never treated so rude, she made out that it was my fault. I understand the spokesman was fired because he said they didn't work as advertised. Is this true? I was waiting for a long time for a great pot and pan, and I thought this was it, but NOPE! The customer service lady started right out telling me how to get a replacement. Not an "I'm sorry." Very, very rude indeed.

I won't recommend this product to anyone at all. I say get all the money you can and run because this is on my top ten lists of badly represented products. This oped is just a thought of mine, perhaps I will see positive reviews, but I haven't so far. Yes, I am keeping the pans because I paid around $100 and can't afford to go out and buy others.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Scratches

By Lisa Frost, New Brunswick, Canada, Verified Reviewer

I bought the frying pan. I do a lot of cooking and well within two weeks I noticed there are scratches on the pan. I thought it wasn't supposed to scratch.

Awesome pan!

By Alice Jones, Brainerd, MN, Verified Reviewer

I purchased the square, high sided pan. Best cookware product I've ever had! Nothing sticks. Some people have said they used non-stick spray, but the instructions clearly state to NEVER use it. I either use nothing or a teaspoon of oil, depending on the food I'm making. I do use a tiny dab of butter for eggs. That's just taste choice.

Since of the directions say not to use pointed things, and I don't use knives or metal turning forks, but I've used metal utensils, plastic, wood, you name it. No damage at all. In the month I've had this pan, there are only two days I haven't used it, and it's in perfect condition. No scratches, no warping, nothing.

Also, I've been washing it in the dishwasher with perfect results. Just read and follow the directions for perfect results. I'm going to buy more Gotham Steel pans. Love this stuff!

Scratch and stick!

By Lori, Endicott, New York, Verified Reviewer

My Red Copper pans have scratches, which commercials claim they won't scratch, and my food sticks just as bad as any other pan I've used! I'm very disappointed.

Disappointed

By David Ferrari, Burlington, Ontario, Canada, Verified Reviewer

I saw a great ad on TV regularly. As I love cooking, I went out and bought a 9 and a 1/2 inch plus the lid at the Showcase store.

After cleaning it, I was excited to use this new pan. The first thing I made was an egg. The egg did not move and was stuck to the bottom of the pan. I had to scrape it off with a plastic spatula, and the egg broke. I was disappointed.

I tried again the next morning but drizzled olive oil first and cracked another egg, and the same thing happened; even with the oil, it stuck to the bottom. I tried searing a steak, and the steak's spices all stuck hard on the pan. I cooked chicken and got the same thing.

To clean I have to soak the pan first and use some muscle to clean it instead of the paper towel wiping everything off easy as you see on TV. I lost my receipt and went to exchange for another, and they refused. I am disappointed. I DO NOT recommend this product.

Worst product ever purchased

By John MacEachern, Middleton, Nova Scotia, Canada, Verified Reviewer

My wife and I got sucked in by the TV commercial and bought all three sizes of the Gotham Steel frying pans. Food stuck to them from day one. You can't even scramble an egg in one without leaving half the egg stuck to the pan, and then it takes steel wool to get the pan clean again. It is a total rip off!

Now we're trying to return them, and there's no number to call. Worst product ever!

Just received

By Karen, Quebec, Canada, Verified Reviewer

I just received my Gotham Pans and am not impressed so far. I ordered them after seeing the commercial. It was approximately $220 Canadian for the following:

1. 11.5-inch Grill Double Reversible. Damaged, the finish has come off.

2. The Double Grill, same as above but larger. The finish is damaged.

3. 9.5-inch frying pan. The edge has a serious nick!

4. 11.5-inch frying pan with lid.

5. 12.5-inch frying pan with lid.

In the agreement inside the box it says that if anything is damaged during shipping, they are not responsible. They could have packed it better!
