Nonstick huh?

By Rick Hamm, Astoria, IL, Verified Reviewer

I have several of Gotham Steel's cookware and my large frying pan SUCKS. Doesn't matter what heat setting, everything STICKS. Their website has no CONTACT US page anywhere so I can PITCH a complaint. I will never buy again. I will choose a different brand next time.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

90-day money back not long enough

By Ernest Biggs, Monument, Colorado, Verified Reviewer

I have several pans, and they worked fine for about 90 days. Then they started sticking, like any other pan. I have to use oil on everything. Eggs stick on contact. The warranty expired in 90 days, so I am stuck with skillets that are not as advertised. This company is phony as a "$3 dollar bill."

Don't buy, save your money

By Jayne Hetchler, Port Saint Lucie, FL, Verified Reviewer

I threw out my old fry pans thinking this was going to be the one. After about ten uses, everything now sticks to the bottom. Also, if you use metal, it will take off the surface.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Not bad

By Cherie, Savannah, GA, Verified Reviewer

I bought the Gotham Steel round pan. I am pleased with it, and a little disappointed with it. You are recommended to never use spray oils, but a little olive oil and butter is fine and actually helps. I have an electric stove, so everything stuck until I learned to lower the temperature. The pan is small, and I would prefer it to be a bit larger.

If you clean it right after cooking, it usually cleans up pretty well. If you let the food dry, it will need to soak first. The food sticks around the handle rivets, so pay special attention there. The pan works great with recipes that go from cooktop to oven. I was pleased with that feature. It works very well in the oven. The handle stays cool unless it has been in the oven, then the handle is extremely hot.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Disappointed in frying pan

By Linda Malo, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, Verified Reviewer

I was so excited to get this frying pan! I told my husband all about it, and as a surprise to me he went to a showcase store in a mall and purchased me a large frying pan for $79.99 plus tax. It worked great for a little while; then it was horrible and everything stuck to it. Very, very disappointed!

Sticks and warps

By John, Texas, Verified Reviewer

At first, the pan was ok, but soon I had to use a cooking oil spray to keep my eggs from sticking. I scrambled the eggs in the pan like the ad says, but the pan scratched. Then the center warped so that the pan doesn't set level. It is easy to clean and is better than other "nonstick pans" we have, but it isn't as advertised.

Worst cookware ever

By Nadia, Rockland, Ontario, Canada, Verified Reviewer

I saved my hard earned money and bought the ten-piece set. I was so very excited to use it for the first time, and what a disappointment it was.

Everything sticks, no matter if I use a little oil or not. Two of the frying pans now have food stains that I just cannot scrub off. It was the worst waste of money I have ever spent. Lesson learned; never, ever trust infomercials, they lie. I would never recommend this product to anyone.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Not as shown on TV

By Robert, Atmore, AL, Verified Reviewer

I purchased the Gotham Steel frying pan assuming that I would not have to use oil as much as my other pans and save calories as well.

I use up those calories now trying to clean all the eggs that stick immediately, and anything else that is in it. With low heat or whatever, this pan does not perform as demonstrated and should be banned from advertising on TV.

It is a waste of money. Sounds like a great gift, but I would not give to my worst enemy.

Great pans

By Gail Keyes, Alabama, Verified Reviewer

I bought the pans straight from the website https://www.gothamsteel.com. After the first pan, I went back and ordered two more larger pans. I've had them for more than a year and the only time I use anything else is if I need an extremely small pan or something larger than the 12-inch pan.

The pans sold by Walmart, Fred's and other discount stores are not Gotham Steel; they are some other brand.

My pans do not stick, with or without butter or oil. They withstand all temperatures, wipe clean with a paper towel or go right into the dishwasher. I use both plastic and metal utensils. The only time I had a problem with scratches is when my husband put frozen stew meat in the pan and kept poking it with a metal fork. The fork did damage the pan, but I don't think it was meant to be pierced.

I would have given this a 5-star rating, but like most cookware today, the bottom is grooved, and it is hard to keep the grease out of the grooves.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Gotham Steel Copper Frying Pan - BEST frying pan I've ever had

By Ellery Howard, Tomball, Texas, Verified Reviewer

I've been very fortunate. The first infomercial I saw was for the Gotham Steel red copper steel frying pan. I kept seeing this commercial, and since the $19.95 price with free shipping was such a good hook, I bit. And then I bit again when I called to order and bought the "for just another small amount..." and got a companion smaller frying pan.

I thought that the T-Fal Professional Non-Stick pans recommended by America's Test Kitchen could not be bested. I've been proven wrong. The Gotham Steel beats the T-Fal, hands down. I've had my initial purchase for almost a year, and they are STILL going strong. I've purchased 12" frying pan, a grilling square, and a deep fryer/steamer, and they ALL work fantastically.

I think some of the bad reviews are of similar "Red Copper" pans. AND users of non-stick spray, which is a HUGE no-no.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
