I have found Noom to be very educational. Not only do they have a great food logging system, but their short, daily articles have really helped me. I'm not young, and honestly, I'm not going to work out at the gym; they are able to help me anyway. I have a coach that checks in with me once a week who understands and supports my efforts. There is also a group you are encouraged to participate in, if you are so inclined.
I joined Noom after trying to lose weight by tracking calories with other online systems. I would lose a little weight, plateau, and then quit, gaining back all the weight. The problem with doing it on your own is that you are alone with no education as to food and your habits, no encouragement, and it gets discouraging and daunting. Noom has a reasonable way of looking at everything. I'm not made to feel guilty if I slip and they are there to help me past the plateaus. It is worth the money if your goal is to educate yourself, change your habits, lose weight, and then keep it off. I can say that what I've learned will be a part of my life from here on out.
Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
