    Review of BetterHelp

    Overall Experience:

I found out about BH on a TV ad. My first thought was how impractical it is for counseling to be online. Not having a one-on-one connection with a therapist, is difficult by messaging. I was curious and wanted to know more. So I decided to try it and joined BH in the beginning of last year. I was paired with David Haynik and started communicating with him by message. I found it easier to write down the things that were difficult for me to say. Big plus there. As with any counselor you start with, I was nervous. And the fact that David could write to me at any time and I was able to reread his remarks was also a big plus for online therapy. I found David quite enlightening and we began working together on a plan that would help me with my problems. I love the idea of writing to him at any time and as often as I wanted to. I think the prices for treatment are fair and honest. I did want to know if I could bill my Medicare for this as it is a bit of a cost for me on a fixed income. But I would not change it. I love the ease of using the site for the computer challenged like myself. I think if I were going to change anything, it would be the ability to reach my therapist or leave him a message when I am struggling and he would have the ability to answer it immediately if he felt it necessary. I appreciate the fact that in an emergency, you would refer to a suicide number. Yet if I needed to talk to him but maybe not some one else. Perhaps a way to reach out to him. I love the site.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
